I say that if it's not technically a cookie, it's fair game for breakfast. What about y'all? Would you enjoy this for breakfast?

One of my favorite memories growing up was my Mom making me oatmeal with sugar, bacon, and milk on top. So warm and delicious!

You are lucky whenever I asked my mom to make me oatmeal she said I don’t want to dirty a pan, here is the box of cereal and you know where the bowls are. One of the last Christmas parties that we had at there house so my 2 brothers could come and we brought most of the food., she was putting some store bought potato chip dip in a fancy bowl to make it look like she made it, you have to hide the plastic container, she said, “Next year I’m going to have to take more shortcuts.” I looked at my daughter and she looked at me and we both smirked. I had made the baked beans in my crockpot, and a fruit salad and we bought the barbecue beef and ham from a restaurant that smokes the meat. We had store bought buns and mom opened some bags of potato chips and dumped those in a bowl. She cut up some celery and carrots sticks, opened a jar of pickles and olives and we brought soda pop and ice. She didn’t cook anything, not one single thing, we used paper plates, plastic silverware, we served it buffet style and we all set around her kitchen table and dining room table. We mainly did it to give them a party with food enough for the next day which was Christmas Day. My mom hated cooking even when she was young.

I would probably use a shallower container for this. People tend to skim the top for the crunchy topping and just leave the oatmeal at the bottom. That or just use individual ramekins and half the recipe.

This would be a superb breakfast or dessert, but my intuition tells me to cut back on the cinnamon. Why not top it with vanilla ice cream?

My only thought is it might be that would cover all of the other flavors. I would add it slower and have to taste it to see if the sugar balanced it out to my tastes if I was making it. It may be perfectly fine but I’ve never put 2 Tablespoons of cinnamon in anything. I looked up her age because she seemed like she was starting to struggle and she is looking frail. I was worried about her, she didn’t seem to be herself.

@@patriciasmith7074 Whenever I watch one of Paula's old Food Network episodes and see how robust she looks, explaining things as she's zipping around the kitchen I'm reminded Paula's no longer a spring chicken. No doubt age is catching up with her (as it is with most of us here). 💯

Easy. Simply adjust or ommit cinnamon altogether. This looks scrumptious.
