D-21's incident report: "On April 14th, 2024, I, Trooper Dairren Evans #573, was patrolling Interstate 40 West near the 284-mile marker. I noticed a black passenger car with noticeably fictitious Tennessee temporary tags. I activated my emergency equipment, initiating a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect vehicle slowed down and stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 40. As I made my approach the vehicle accelerated and fled the traffic stop. The suspect vehicle fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour and recklessly weaving through traffic before taking the 281 exit. The suspect vehicle turned left onto Mound City Road disregarding the stop sign. Then the suspect vehicle took another left onto the ramp for Interstate 40 East. At this time, I performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention causing the suspect vehicle to exit the roadway to the left. Once the suspect vehicle was disabled, I began to give several commands to the occupants that were disregarded by the driver and passenger. I waited for more units to arrive on the scene before attempting to take the occupants into custody. Upon other officers' arrival, we were able to place the driver, identified as Michael Chalmers 1/24/1995 of Tennessee and the passenger identified as Ebony Jackson 11/4/1997 of Tennessee, in custody without further incident. Michael Chalmers at one point began to shake and not respond to conversation, I performed a sternum rub to check his responsiveness while awaiting medical professionals. Michael Chalmers would start to respond to the sternum rub until I stopped then would lay down again. I continued this process until Michael Chalmers sat up on his own and began speaking. An Ambulance made the scene to assess Michael Chalmers and found no medical issues. Michael Chalmers was checked through the National Crime Information Center [# # REDACTED BY ASP # #]. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, which revealed a large baggie of white powdery substance, 1 large baggie containing a white rock-like substance, 1 plastic baggie containing a white crystal-like substance, 2 large plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance, and a small glass bottle with a large number of unidentified pills. A small scale with residue and multiple open bottles of alcohol were also found in the vehicle. All evidence was collected and turned over to the Drug Task Force for further investigation. Michael Chalmers was charged with the following: 5-64-443(a)(1): POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA 5-64-419(b)(1)(C): POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED I,II METH COCAINE => 10G 5-64-419(b)(2)(C): POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED I, II EXCLUDING METH COCAINE => 28g 5-64-419(b)(5)(C): POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED VI => 4 OZ 27-51-601(d): FAIL TO OBEY STOP SIGN 5-54-103(b): REFUSAL TO SUBMIT TO ARREST 5-36-106(e)(1): THEFT BY RECEIVING >= $25,000 5-71-218: OPEN CONTAINER CONTAINING ALCOHOL IN MOTOR VEHICLE 27-14-701: OWNER FAIL TO REGISTER VEHICLE - EXPIRED TAGS 27-14-306: FICTITIOUS TAGS 27-50-308(b)(1)(B) 1ST: RECKLESS DRIVING - 1ST 27-37-702: NO SEATBELT 27-16-303 REV: DRIVING ON REVOKED LICENSE 5-54-125(d)(3) 2023: FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SUBSTANTIAL DANGER OF DEATH 27-22-104: NO LIABILITY INSURANCE 27-50-302(a)(7): SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER LIMIT"

Props to Trooper Evans Pit! The Infinity was out accelerating his cruiser making it much more difficult to pit. He recognized that and switched tactics to get them in a turn. Cars turning at high speed are on the edge of sliding out. A nudge from behind will put them over the edge and they will spin out. Smart move Trooper!! Watching hundreds of chases I'm always surprised at how few times I see officers use this technique when the opportunity presented itself. Huge respect Trooper Evans...

Why is she allowed in the back of the police vehicle with her purse and phone. Lawmakers need to address phones. The police should take possession of phones right away and put them in evidence or property bags to avoid the suspects from deleting evidence or using them.
