Could not agree more. I told my students I would do a 12-week video series on KZread...not realizing how hard it is to achieve perfect lighting and editing for videos. After the first video, I realized I had no idea what I was doing. Each 5 minute video took me 5 hours to edit and the finished product was mediocre at best. Instead of backing out, I decided to push through and focus on substance not style. I realize people are looking for content they can use, not perfect lighting.

OMG this is such perfect timing...was just thinking about taking yoga teacher training and was like "but I'm not a superyogi", I can't do a full handstand without the wall, my tree pose could use a little work, but then a voice (no I'm not crazy) said, what are you waiting for? And then I see your video today...I see you Universe...thanks!!

Dear Marie and Team Forleo. Thank you for this video. Last month, I was speaking publically for the first time; at a paid event. And whenever I didn’t wanna prepare and continue writing my speech (because it was uncomfortable and unfamiliar territory), I came back to this video - and then I’d write and practise. Even made a meme from the tweetable and had it as my wallpaper on my phone. Thank you so much. It was my valuable fuel!

I just returned from a powerful Women's Body Wisdom weekend that I created and facilitated. I had been working on this one for a year. It was not the first, and I was intentional about stretching out of my comfort zone in some areas. I always have an evaluation form for the women at the end. Receiving feedback can be scary. It makes me feel so vulnerable. However, I want to grow more than I feel afraid. Still, in hindsight, I see so many things I would do differently, and I am struggling with the voice of my inner critic. The title of this video sent via email was "My Cringeworthy First Workshop". That word "cringe" caught my eye. Watching the video helps me be a little gentler with myself and to honor my courageous aspects. Thank you, Marie.

What a good message! No one is amazing right out of the gate. When I first opened my online store, it was just thirty or so items, the photos were horrible, and after six months with absolutely nothing going on, I just about gave up. Then I started talking to other sellers on the site. Between the amazing feedback and pointers on taking good photos I got from them, and the miserable but ultimately good event a group of sellers hosted, I got up the courage to keep going. That whole first year was a crash course in running a handmade business, both locally and online, and the lessons learned are what led to the small but thriving business I have today.

MARIE! How are you in my head?!? This is so true - my first thought is always...."Well, I can't do it as well as her, so...." This video was soooo needed. I have big dreams but I'm in the baby stages of my business too! Tonight I had 3 people come to my 3rd-ever "Meditation for Professional Women workshop" - which was awesome, because all 3 of those people a) aren't people I knew before, b) paid meeeee! and c) only 2 friends came to my first ever one, so I have done my lamest ever workshop already too! I NEEDED THIS VIDEO SO MUCH! Thank youuuu x

This concept of perfection paralysis really resonates with me. I've recently started noticing that it is the main thing that holds me back from doing stuff. Becoming conscious of it has actually helped so much in just giving myself permission to do stuff sucky and then improve as I go along.

I started writing when I was eleven years old. Even then, I had some cool ideas, but looking back at the writing... so cringe-worthy. But here I am, 14 years later, working on two revised drafts and a few side projects, and hoping to self-publish in the next couple of years. I recently met someone who's having trouble get started on their first serious attempt at a novel due to fears of not being perfect. I totally get that, but I've been trying to encourage her to give it a shot. Writing, like many things, improves the most just by doing it.

However, I know what I know and I have a lot to offer, so I am to taking the necessary baby steps and will use this time for growth. I'll get all of the mistakes and awkwardness out of the way while I'm small and growing. This episode is very encouraging.

I recently started an online boutique that I am starting small and or a while i thought it was sucky until I thought about the hard work and the progress to come. I like this. I think I've had a number of sucky times with taking photos and I even did one recently, but I'm glad I did do it sucky because even though some parts were sucky, other parts weren't as sucky because I tried and sucked before and learned from it. Yes, that is a grammatical mess, but still.
