I like to use this phrase every time I see a big opportunity and my fears walking hand in hand: "Never let your fears, laziness or insecurity steal your glory, it's better go there to win or to lose than spend your whole life wondering "what if..."".

Hitting the nail on the head. Love your show and all you got going on Marie. I used to be the one who just went for it more then I do now and that habit has gained me some unique adventures and an unconventional education. I used to call it being in reaction mode and now I'm working on focusing it as being a gift of faith in the unknown with practical caution. I started working from home by praying for the divinely right opportunity to do so when my old boss came a knocking... I worked for her back in the day when I made more the my husband and we had less kids. She had a great offer and I know we wouldn't be where we are financially if I had taken it. But on my way to take the job 4 years ago, someone called me from my business ad on the back of my car. We pulled over and I made $150 in 15minutes. I walked into her office and realized I was unemployable from here on out. Taking that safe job would have compromised my prayer and the reasons why I wanted to work from home in the first place. Looking back. I don't regret lunch dates with my baby girl every Thursday at her school, or being able to volunteer at my other two kids classes. I will never regret being able to spend 5 days in the hospital supporting my mom or taking 10 months to rehabilitate my nieces and nephew through a rough patch. I know I would have been fired from any J.O.B for any of those treasured moments and low and behold... I'm still alive, my kids and I are close, my business is growing and I have actually inspired others not to compromise motherhood and being who you are. It's a journey on lined payment or a journey on a magic carpet ride as far as I'm concerned. One moment that changed everything for me was when my dad passed away at 47 from suicide... it was a tough recovery for our family but my perspective changed. Life is far too short to life half assed. I barely graduated high school but the self education of being an entreprenuer has been more valuable then a degree. Marie, I consider you one of my professors. Mahalo for all you give to the world.

I already commented on this video before, but I just want to say that it is literally one of the best ones out there. Watching this and considering the "what ifs" is one of primary reasons that I decided to go ahead with starting my mermaiding business. The "what if I don'ts" made me so upset to think about that I had to make the jump to launch my business. I have my own website now, my KZread is growing quite quickly, and I have my first gig coming up towards the end of November. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video, Marie and team! I seriously apply this thinking to almost every situation now, and it has changed the way I live my life. Much love from the lake! -Mermaid Phantom

I just moved 1500 miles away from home right after graduating from college, away from everyone and everything I know. I've stopped not applying to jobs that I felt would reject me, if it sounds like a good opportunity and my skills match their needs I apply! The entire interview process freaks me out because I don't want to be rejected and told that I'm not good enough, but I'd rather that then miss a great opportunity

I couldn't agree more with the tweetable on this one! One of the top regrets for people at the end of their life is what they didn't do, not what they did do. I took a big risk that has landed me where I am today. I was an unemployed lawyer and was offered a job with my dream company in a completely different industry. Even though I had no money in my bank account, had to move far from home and knew I would be struggling in a city on a lower salary, I knew I had to just go for it. I ended up getting an incredible other opportunity through that job that has helped me to thrive in my current industry and has helped me to climb to financial security. I say GO FOR IT!!

How have I just seen this episode?! This is exactly the advice I've been needing. I've been driving myself crazy with where to live so I can settle down and grow some roots: stay in my beautiful and gorgeous hometown of santa cruz, ca, which is actually becoming toxic to me and no longer serving me OR move abroad someplace and use my TEFL/TESOL certification (even though I hate teaching english), but I would have independence and the time to work on my true passion of Holistic Health Coaching for Diabetics? I think I finally figured out my answer because of this video. Love you Marie!

This is a fear I had to face head on when I decided to begin a huge project that ended up being the first ever online e-learning course for the raw food lifestyle. I remember thinking "what if it hasn't been done yet because there's no demand for it". My biggest fear was that no one would find value in the work I was doing but I overcame it and now my students are loving the course. It's an important lesson to learn!

I'm an English major and one of my classes is requiring us to be a tutor in the Writing Center 2 days a week. I have never tutored anyone and am freaking out and second-guessing everything I know, even though my teacher and peers have assured me that I'm ready to jump in. If I said yes to that which I am considering, and it failed horribly, I would be out $3,000.00... and would feel like a terrible fool. :p However, while the time cannot be made up, I could earn the money back eventually. If I say no to what I am considering, I will most certainly be sealing myself away to the life of a barista/retail manager/wedding reception hall tour guide/ everything else that I would rather not be for all of eternity. I would also run the risk of watching someone else jump on the opportunity that I was too scared to take.... which would be so painful! Thank you for this video, it has given me a lot to think about! You're awesome!!!
