Mel, one of the reasons I admire you is the fact that you are authentic. You stepped on your glasses and they were crooked, you didn’t give 2 fucks. You came on and you encouraged people according to your purpose. It’s very fitting considering, I too overthink and don’t act. Perfectionism gets in my way, if in your shoes, I would have cancelled or been completely blind. Thanks for just showing up and being normal. Totally encouraged and so very grateful. Thank you.

First thing, in the middle of the video my laundry buzzer went off and I popped right up w/o the 54321, paused the video, folded laundry put it away and came right back and pushed play. I always felt stuck in a box with regular jobs too. I am extremely creative and love to learn. So I would learn a job, write a detailed manual on how to do the job and then I was so bored I would get depressed and somehow the job would end in some way. This past July I finally started a business I am writing and illustrating books with plans (once enough money comes in) to develop products as well. I have hundreds of product ideas and close to 100 book ideas. I am doing all this with an abusive husband who does all he can to discourage me from what I am doing. Yet, the proof of my seventh book (since July) is due to arrive on Friday and hopefully, it goes live on Amazon the same day! I refuse to let anyone hold me back any further! I have more plans and more dreams. There is no way I am giving up, though I know there will be an appointment with an attorney to deal with the boat anchor in the future.

This has to be my favorite Mel Robbins Video!! It speaks to me sooo much! Whenever I think I should be going back to a normal job with retirement pension etc I have this voice inside me - not my head voice - its more in my gut (I guess I know now where the word gut feeling comes from haha) that says " I don´t want to go back to a normal office job, I don´t, I don´t." Almost like a child with a tantrum haha! I was burnt out and bored-out in my office job at the age of 27 and know that if I go back to it - even if the type of the job and the company changes - I will die internally! This is giving me so much hope and confirmation as I also feel like the weird one so many times, looking at the stable careers of my friends.

I was so excited to have my own business but just felt overwhelmed on how to even start. I have conversations with people, supposedly my friends, who said, "Oh, I know how to do that. I can help you with that." Well, I never received any help. It would be a minimal of directions...do this, do that, easy. Well, I'm determined, studied, researched, TRIED to make it work. I failed. I've been asking for a MAP and a MENTOR for years... Now, I'm throwing my inventory in the trash because it takes up room in my small place. I give things away that I spent a lot of money on supplies, etc. I need help. I have no money to hire a coach. I lost my job and was forced into early retirement and hope to make more income for myself because living on Social Security just isn't enough. I'm headed to bankruptcy soon. I pray, cry, agonize every frickin day.

Mel - my dilemma is needing to and wanting to create business and financial success. But, am plagued by my age.

21 minutes into this rah-rah. One person isn't going to help you to find your goal. If we bought all the courses that were offered to us would be broke and struggling just like we are now. What's needed is something real that you can sell that people will buy because they have a need for it. And good luck coming up with the billions of resources and money needed to outshine your competitors. That's it. If you don't have that, no amount of encouragement is going to give it to you.
