Footwork is becoming an ignored facet in combative arts. I know for a fact that there are many popular seminar martial arts instructors in the FMA community who are no longer teaching it because students don't want to do. That is the wrong answer! In weapon's based martial arts footwork is your first line of defense and the delivery system to counter attacks. It can not be ignored if your goal is to produce functional practitioners. PERIOD.
