The cameras they use in Baltimore record in a loop, but don't save until the cop turns on the audio. But, it saves the 30 seconds prior without audio. That's why there was 30 seconds of silent footage before the sound came on. The cop didn't know, or forgot, that it saves that last 30 seconds. Those damn cops were giggling like school girls about what they were doing.

Also its not necessary to have your camera on at all times(probably to save battery). They can have it off say as they are simply driving or patrolling. However, they are required to turn them on as they pursuit a person/crime/ investigation.

Start fining cops for not turning on their body cams. On the Third time, mandatory 1 month jail time and lose their job. The fine should be $10,000.

Pence would, at the very least, not be a constant international embarrassment like Trump, he would say stupid and embarrassing bull shit from time to time, but it wouldn't be every sentence coming from his mouth. Pence also could potentially be in on the Russian scandal, though. Depending on what the investigation brings to light, he could end up with the Trumps on the out list.

Urza, that's the story. But it's the freaking White House, the maintenance & repair budget is, literally, infinity. Is there a single HVAC unit for the whole building? I bet they're looking for Obama's bugs, and maybe installing some of their own, or maybe Putin's.

Unfortunately there is a lesser known problem with body cameras; even in the few instances where they catch corrupt cops/unarmed shootings, the evidence still means very little to courts that will defend police officers no matter what. We can only hope the cops get punished for this but who knows at this point.

I'm not surprised about cops planting evidence but I am surprised that they would record themselves planting evidence. That doesn't really make them seem competent to catch actual criminals.

I have a question to a sensible cop who watched this video? What the hell is going on in some of these police departments? Why are many of you not speaking out against this monstrosity?

I've always loved the way the Daily Show delivers the new and still always manages to slip in some relevant comedy too.

Officer's defense will be "but I feared for my life so I had to frame him for drugs" and he'll get off.

The more important issues with racially-biased policies (regarding "broken windows" policing, etc) isn't covered & this isn't at the top of comments because the establishment doesn't want that to be published. However, the lack of public knowledge must be overridden by public outcry so here we go... Let's make it a top priority

He noticed that if he had a drink in the car, they often asked to taste it to make sure he didn't put alcohol in a cola bottle. Well, hispanics _are_ one of the larger racial populations now, and despite their portrayal in media I believe on average most hispanics have a tendency to keep quiet about stuff. Most of them are just "regular folks" who are trying to raise a family and don't want any trouble. And yet there's such a strong resentment of them among the racist groups. Clearly we need better ways to keep cops honest, and we need to be more strict about removing cops who break laws and/or act in dishonorable ways. I know we have a serious problem of the super wealthy trying to keep the rest of the country under their control, but the whole reason we have cops in the first place is to protect us and to keep order -- not to abuse us, ruin lives, and keep certain populations in fear.

My brother was pulled over the other day and I was following him. The officer said his tail light was out. I was behind him and it wasn't out. The police officer was fishing. Since he didn't find anything he let him go. It's against the law for them to do that in my state, but they do it anyway.

"Mr. President, you are under arrest!" I just live to hear those words. "You're FIRED!" as he stands in front of a firing squad.

What I personally find genuinely astonishing about the officers planting drugs, Is that no one is talking about the reality that the officers had drugs on them to plant. If the officers had taken the drugs from previous drug stops they should have been inventoried into the precincts lock-up. And if that officer had checked those drugs out then they Would-be reported missing if they were used in another bust. If they didn't come out of the precincts lock up than that means the officer acquired them illegally some other way, which means the officer has broken the law way before planting the drugs in this video. And then people quote statistics saying that black people and Latino's are more likely to be convicted of a crime because they are predisposed to being criminals, when the truth is that cops are likely stopping white people with drugs and simply taking the drugs and letting them go, not reporting them and then, using those same drugs to incarcerate blacks and latinos at a significantly higher rate. Then you wonder why blacks and latinos have such a torrid relationship with Law enforcement. When the cops get caught doing illegal things everybody wants to say it's just a few bad apples, but when it's people of color where all lumped in together...

At this point Trevor shud just start with "Tonight on THE MOST ENTERTAINING reality tv show- America ...." nd then proceed

Police caught planting drugs isnt the first time inMaryland, VA and DC. They did that to a young black man store owner recently. Fortunately, the pig was caught with the store security camera in action. He was an undercover who was "tipped" that the guy might be selling drugs. No, the pig and his partner made a claim and he went there as undercover several times over a year and when he couldnt find anything, he decided to plant one! The guy lawyered up and took him to court!

Body cameras should only be able to be turned on and off at the police station. If officers have that kind of control over their own accountability device, it kind of defeats the purpose.

i got pulled over for a broken tail light, got a ticket, and when i got home checked it and both worked. I went to court over it. Kept telling the judge that it was never broken. They were going to make me pay a fine, till i said, ok, i got it fixed. Had to go show the cop that it worked. He agreed, i told him i didn't fix it. He looked at me and said i obviously did because it worked just fine. You can't make this up.

This is absolutely disgusting behavior by these cops, here's the thing, until cops stand up and speak out against these cops people will continue to strike back
