The Japanese study that I was so interested in was the one involving cardiomyopathy. They took people who were barely able to walk up a flight of stairs without having to rest and after 3-months on 12mg of astaxanthin a day they were out on the golf course and whatever being normal again.

I have continued to take 12 mg for several years now and I am 64. I tried reducing it once and the first thing I noticed is that my close up vision got worse and had more aches and pains and when I went back to 12 mg they all got better again. So for me 12 mg is perfect. Heck the 12 mg Nutricost brand I get on Amazon costs less than 25 cents a dose and is just as good as the popular but more expensive Bioastin brand that is the benchmark in quality. Some people take even more, which I heard is not harmful but I hear can make your eyes and skin redish like it does with salmon or crabs and doesn't provides any more benefit.

I've been taking 12mg astaxanthin for 6 years now for my rheumatoid arthritis and have never had to take prescription drugs. It really is amazing. My doctor couldn't believe the difference

What really??? Are you still taking it now? I was scared of taking 7 mg because it's fat soluble & people said you could take too much, one guy said take 1-4 mg. And there have been no side effects? Also doesn't ths guy in the video mention 4 mg?

Yes I'm still taking it 😊 my cousin also takes it for her Rheumatoid arthritis as well. My mom takes it, my brother and my husband also take it they had knee and back issues. They couldn't believe how good they felt. They have been on 12 mg for the same amount of time I have. But we have all tried different brands and they are not all created equal. We all take BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin 12mg 120 softgels you only take 1 a day. They are pricey 😩 but we all get them online at Costco when they are on sale usually $10 off a bottle. If you try them, just make sure you give them enough time to work it took a couple weeks before we really felt a difference we take them with a meal. Also I'm super pale skin and I tan now 😊 and for 1 full year I took 2 a day but didn't really notice anything other than I tan up really dark in the sun.

I hope you will answer me. My mom is suffering from arthritis and osteoarthritis she is taking for 6years methotrexate 12.5mg a week which this medication damages her liver and hydroxychloroquine daily. Is there anyway she will quite this medication and use astaxanthin?

I like his comment on using 24 mg for 2 months to get into the body overall, then go down to 4 mg. I read about some side effects of sleep, gives a lot of energy. The 4 mg might be the right amount once it is saturated in your body.

Peripheral neuropathy, many times, is caused by insulin resistance / type 2 diabetes. If astaxanthin helps with fatty liver, CRP, and all the other liver inflammatory issues then it should help with diabetic neuropathy. That is just my guess but it makes sense. Neuropathy is a symptom of an underlying issue. Astaxanthin addresses the root cause and so it should fix things that are downstream from those causes.

Hi, we apologize for any delays in our response. Based on the scientific literature, there is some evidence to suggest astaxanthin may support levels of certain hormones such as FSH, LH, estrogen, and progesterone to support reproductive health. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced these concerns while supplementing with astaxanthin. It is important to keep in mind that every person's biochemistry is different, thus different nutrients can affect individuals in different ways. We would encourage working with your healthcare provider to determine if hormone testing is needed to evaluate your levels post astaxanthin supplementation to see if there was any influence on hormone levels. Additionally, if you would like to discuss the research on this topic further, please feel free to reach out to our team of wellness specialists at 1-800-226-2370 or via email at wellness@lifeextension.com with any questions. Thank you.
