Power Supply Test
I get lots of questions on how long my electric wings will last. This test was done with a 13.5ft moderately thick wing, probably the moment arm equivalent of a normal 12. Smaller wings and smaller motors will get more, large wings will get less. I also enplane how to tell the difference between a battery loosing power and a line of sight or signal issue.
Skip to the end if you don't want to watch the count yourself for the final results, or count along and see if I counted right! I did have an overheat issue in the middle. This usually is not a problem because I am not typically not just opening and closing the wings constantly over and over again. I am not sure why you would other than to perform this test :P Needless to say its never an issue at cons.

I think they hand make them out of a thin plastic or a stiff fabric. Not sure

lol, I don't think you need to worry about recharging when wearing them to a convention :) What is the battery capacity? We can calculate the energy consumed per flap.
Have you ever thought of using latex or silicone, airbrush,ect.Maybe getting some gargoyle wings made or such.The mechanism is cool and overall project is awesome.

what motor is used and what battery would you use to power it? having problems deciding what my 12v battery should come in. Could be in a big Yuasa Lead Acid boxed one or just a pack of 8 AAs. Im not very well versed in all this i do apologise!

Crystal Elk unfortunately because there are so many free use designs out there it would be a very narrow copy wright or patent and therefore relatively impossible to enforce. also as a cosplayer I understand the need to make it yourself for competition, so I would rather inspire others to make their own than hord my ideas for miniscule additional profit.

Depends on what you make them out of, if you make them out of wood they're usually 5 pounds at the most

Lol if you have enough money cause they're really expensive but it's easier to make you own, it's easier to make them with pulleys instead of wires and batteries, cause I don't think either of us can program computers 😂

no neds to program a computer, I'm currently making my own electrical wings. The only thing you need is a good way of thinking. And for the price.. I've looked at the "verin" CF uses, they are $130 each, plus the battery, the feather, the fabric, the aluminium and all else It's both cheaper and easier to make a commission.
Everyone looks at the furry community, but no on pays attention to the hybrid/feather community
