I would turn on the WJLB radio station out of Detroit on a Sunday morning. It was one of the greatest R&B stations, and did a slow groove across my floors at home to start my day. Yes, this one was also one of my faves. I have to admit. I had a crush on Patti back then . That was my church Sunday morning. Some God sent soulful sounds. It brought me closer to heaven. More Patti from the 80s, Yo Mister (written and produced by Prince). If You Asked Me To (the closing song to the James Bond movie, License To Kill [Gladys Knight did the theme]. Stir It Up, from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. For the group Labelle, the power ballad Isn't It A Shame, What Can I Do For You and Are You Lonely. There are clips of the last two songs being performed on Cher's 70s variety show with Cher.

Patti has her pies @ Walmart & while I am not a fan of retail the 🥧. 1 I am not mad @ her for cashing in & making 🏦 💰🤑. I am sure those pies are a great help for those who do not know how to make a good pie on their own & 2 Pattie is now the rulling queen approved by Aretha herself 😊

Since the start of their channel, I've been hoping they'd react to that Labelle song. The cover is from the film/musical Moulin Rouge! with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. There is indeed a chance that they’ve heard the cover version before. Like the song Car Wash. Original by Rose Royce from 1976 and covered for Shark Tale in 2004 by Christina Aguilera ft. Missy Elliott.

Of the ones you haven't done so far, I'd say you have to check out Patti's version of "If You Asked Me To". Celine has a great version as well (clearly a powerhouse song). Also, Patti has several electrifying live performances of "Forever Young". My favorite his from her 1985 Live Aid appearance. It's definitely a take 'em to church moment.

    I. Remember seeing Patty Labelle. Perform here in Omaha, Nebraska years ago, it was one of the pleasures of my life. Especially because my mom was still alive. At that time I was a 7-year-old little boy and got a chance to see her show and she waved at me and I will never forget it. I'm 37 now and I still have an image of her in a beautiful red dress waving at me from the front row.

"Lady Marmalade". Iconic classic Patti Labelle in the early days. Still a great classic song.
