I don’t think he’s supposed to be that strong compared to Yoda or Luke. He’s not overpowering or defeating Yoda in any scenario and he’s not beating prime Luke. He could’ve surpassed them both, but his potential was cut off. No pun intended. As for Obi Wan, he was not out right stronger than Anakin, but was simply the worst stylistic match up for him.

IMO Anakin is still sick (I play 90% HVV and Hero Showdown), Retribution is dumb as fuck I’ve literally only gotten to use it once and it was offline, and the Passionate Strike nerf is bad but still a useful ability.

What was OP was his ability chain with all of the knockdowns, not necessarily his damage. They really massacred my boy

I actually wish all heroes were as dominating as this but just a little weaker. The days of seeing an Anakin and the whole enemy team running in fear was cool and fun and probably like how it would be if you saw the chosen one hunting you down

I’m really sad DICE just up and left Battlefront 2 leaving Anakin in his buggy and terrible state. Heroic night is bugged in like 5 different ways. Sometimes you get no dmg reduction, sometimes you don’t knockdown, sometimes it soft locks you, sometimes it HARD locks you, and sometimes it straight up doesn’t work and eats your cooldown… That’s just one ability. He has countless more bugs. And on the final patches instead of fixing any of this they removed most of his stamina and nerfed passionate strike a 4th time…

DICE IS A SUBSIDIARY DEVELOPMENT TEAM UNDER THE EMPLOYMENT OF EA. EA CONTROLS DICE, WHAT EA SAYS, GOES. BF2 DOES NOT MAKE MONEY, EA NOT INTERESTED, DICE WORK ON SOME OTHER SHIT. Do you get it now? This is a common thing with studios now. Idk how but you'd think 6 to 10 people who made the update would join a lobby & play test for a few hours but no common sense dosen't exist in this galaxy far far away.

Even though Anakin was absurdly broken, that time mightve been the most fun I had in the game. Either as Anakin massacaring droids or as droids running away at the sight of him 😂

I love how the vader comes at him like he didn’t just lose 99.99% of his hp 😮

Now he’s been overnerfed and he’s glitchy as hell. He could’ve used 2 less nerfs. I don’t know what compelled them to nerf his passionate strike into the ground. They should’ve kept the knocked down effect but tweaked it it only knock if someone wasn’t or can’t block! And now the damage does 130 which is the exact same as a normal swing? See what I mean, overnerfed. And don’t even get me started on his defense stamina, what a joke. One second of the Senate’s lightning and you’re defenseless. DICE really did him dirty! Thing is, he would be half decent if he wasn’t so goddamn buggy. But he went from S tear down to C tier at best.

@@dumb_lifeexe2264 the damage cap for heroic might, passionate not a knock down, saber damage at 130, were fine nerfs. everything else i feel was overboard. tenacious should give 150 health, retro should build up slightly faster than now and should last 3.5 seconds. heroic should build damage but really slowly or cap at a 200 increase

My god i cannot stop replaying that retribution it is too satisfying

The ending, where his damage resistance just disappears for no reason and you just die. Also they could've made it so taking damage, caps at 250 instead of keeping it at 100 damage, and damage just increases radius, that's honestly what made players have to use the star card that gives you 50 more damage so you can insta kill smaller units

What would have made Battlefront 2 heroes/villains more interesting to play as would be to have the star cards either strengthen or change up how some of the abilities function. Such as Leia's grenades, she should still have the choice to use the flash bang or a different grenade entirely. Or Darth Maul's ability cool down shortener, instead of shortening the cooldowns it could be used as a CC breakout but it can only be used once every 5 minutes Or Anakin Skywalker's Passionate Strike cards one of them could change it to where he can perform his son's Sabre Rush and the other card would allow the move to be used in the air but air only

He was so OP when he first came out. He could solo 4v1 with ease. They had to nerf him

-4 Knockdowns -1000 base health -Highest saber damage (used to be 205 per swing with Massive Strikes) -Great stamina -2 abilities that dealt over 500 damage -2 abilities that could clear rooms with insane distance How did this pass through balancing and testing 🤣

Honestly never had a problem with him like this, it felt a lot more fun taking down the challenge

I'd be lying if I said I was upset with Anakin when he came out because the villains team was extremely overpowered before he dropped and nobody on the heroes side was as powerful as they are today. So it was very common back then to lose match after match almost endlessly just because you were on the Heroes team. He's still pretty good in Capital Supremacy but he gets killed too easily and too quickly in HvV now. Still something satisfying about the insane multi kills he used to be capable of even if it is unfair.

He's still a beast! When his abilities actually work....

What I remember about the launch of Anakin is... is how broken it was. During the waving hours of the game's restoration the Droid Army was discretely transfer back to Naboo. It was a silent trip, we all know what is about happen, who we were about to face. Did we had any doubts, any private quitting urges. Perhaps but nobody said a word. Not on flight to Naboo, not during the boarding of our Capital Ship and not even when we saw Anakin marching toward us with his Retribution matter full. Not a word.

I feel like they nerfed him into the ground tbh. He was OP but, they just had nerf after nerf after nerf, in almost every update since he came out. He's still solid but, doesn't give me the same highly skilled, powerful Chosen One vibes anymore

The Best of the best of the best. And the fear itself hahah most enemies ran away when he showed up. The push range was ridiculously amazing

i swear to god theres no middle ground whenever something gets nerfed, it's just either nerfed too much or buffed too much.

@@BullyMaguirejr Honestly I think rey would've sat a bit better with fans if they made her luke's granddaughter instead of palpatine's. For example they could've introduced a mara jade like character as lukes wife, have her pregnant and later killed by ben offworld but have the baby survive and be taken in by kind strangers, this would explain why luke was so ready to murder his nephew and why he's a sad old man along with drawing parallels with luke and his father. They also could've made lukes death similar to his father's, sacrificing himself for his offspring etc etc. It would also make her taking the skywalker name make more sense because as it is it reeks of weird new age cuckshit

@@BullyMaguirejr there's like a generation or two between when anakin was the chosen one and rey was so your reasoning isn't valid in that sense, not to mention Luke also. She may not be the best character but she isn't terrible. The terrible one is Disney.

Ahh the memories. Haven't played this game in almost 4 years. I'm just sad by it because of what could have been, the missed potential.

I remember playing hero’s vs villains right after anakin was released and just seeing him consistently killing all 4 of the enemies with a single force push charge because the enemies hadn’t learnt yet to stop hitting him while he’s charging his force push. And that ability didn’t have a damage cap at that point

may have been broken but he was probs the most fun to ever play in that state, as unfair as it was to just delete everything it was just so satisfying

The best part of this is that Anakin's power was actually accurate in relation to every other character, but it just wasn't fair or fun to play. Lol

@@digiorno1142 with Obi Wan's help, heck in the novelization by the time Anakin finally got his rage boost Dooku was already running out of stamina from fighting them both at once. Not to mention Dooku beat Anakin in pretty much all of their other fights.

Palpatine expected him to surpass him fully in time as he grew into his power. Pre-nerfed Anakin is what he would have become if not for his defeat on Mustafar and subsequent maiming

Those were the must fun days of the game i remember when he was op me and my friends did the hero duplication glitch in HvV and 4 anakins vs everyone running away good times

0:15 man that bass as he lifts them up is so hype.

"I'm not sure you know who you're dealing with." hearing this mid fight is very understated.

Honestly tho broken anakin was the only thing keeping the dark and light side equal in hvv

I wish he stayed that way, maybe nerfed a little, but they went too far with the nerfing.

Yes their nerfed his to much, but he did to much damage and had to many knockdowns. The stamina nerf was unnecessary

Nerfed a little? Anakin had 1000 health, 4 knockdowns, 165 lightsaber damage with no draw backs and could one-shot heroes across the map.

Dude I remember when anakin first came out I killed so many people with Herotic Might and Retribution and then when capital supremacy came out I had at least around 700 to 800 kills cause of the whole ship thing back to fourth it was all fun

I love watching this video it shows me like how frightening and powerful anakin truly is

It's one of those things were its like okay yeah Anakin was op and it could be frustrating to go against him but like... he is Anakin tho... that's kinda the point. Also Anakin saying Darth Vader lines while Force choking 20 ppl at once is probably one of the most gangster things to happen in all of human history.
