I haven't had a chance to pop anything in the player yet but the presentation alone is so killer I'm in love with this set already. I can't wait to check everything out. HOURS worth of entertainment in here. Probably gonna take me at least a week to get through everything.

I've been wanting to shoot something in that location for a while, I'm glad I finally got the chance. It was really noisy by the bamboo yesterday so I had to find another place to do this video.

Fantastic review Will your my go too guy for Hong Kong action movies, I only ordered the Supercop blu ray as I already have Police Story 1 & 2, as always a awesome in depth review, Police Story 2 extended cut is freaking awesome. I just need Who Am I and Thunderbolt to complete my JC collection so I'm hoping they get released at some point even if Thunderbolts a Warner Archive. I pre ordered Righting Wrongs this week 2 x blu ray box sets Lol.

I need to get on top of ordering that Righting Wrongs set, it's the next thing on my list of releases to pick up. The longer version of Police Story 2 I've seen, I think that's on the Criterion set if I'm not mistaken. But, of the two shorter versions, I'm not sure which one I have and haven't seen. I know I have one of them on a DVD release, but I can't remember which one it is. I'll have to double check. Can't wait to dig into this set!

We put that up for the jubilee and never took it down so it was kind of eerie to have it still there when she passed. I'm sure you know this if you watch the channel but I'm a British citizen, I spent a lot of time in England as a child, so the queen has been presence for my entire life. It's kind of surreal that she passed away.

I asked my fam to get me a 4K player for my birthday specifically so I could watch this… although the first 4K flic I did watch on it was Apocalypse Now

I have the dual format six disc Apocalypse Now set with Blu-ray and 4K of each cut of the movie and I still haven't watch the 4K versions yet. Now that you reminded me I have them I'm gonna have to find a way to do that! It's a great reason to get a 4K player and TV.

I'm happy with the previous box-set release. just grabbing the 88films release of SUPER-CCOP.

Mike has a playstation, I guess I could go to his house and watch it over there! I always forget that gaming systems play 4K discs, thank you for the reminder. We are a no gaming household, so I'm out of luck for that.

I just got paid and this boxset and the LE tiger cage trilogy were the first things I have purchased. I can wait for these to arrive.

I've had so much stuff showing up my house recently I haven't even watched the Tiger Cage set yet! I'm so bad. I'm hoping to watch either that or Exiled from Chameleon Films this weekend, then watch the other next week. So many reviews to do these days! Police Story set is seeming like it's going to be an all-time classic release. I watched the standalone Eureka Police Story III blu ray yesterday, which is pretty much the same as the 4k, and it's a five star release, absolutely fantastic.

This might be an essential pick-up for me. I own the criterion collection with parts I and II but I haven’t see III.

Oh man Police Story III is an all-time classic! I believe Quentin Tarantino once called it the best action movie ever made. It takes the gun fighting and stunts to the next level and maintains the comedy and charm of the first two. Such a great movie. That Criterion release is excellent! I love it.

I'm smiling but I'm incredibly jealous inside, another 10 days till I hopefully get my hands on it

Solid plan! I have that Criterion release as well, it's fantastic. I think the standalone PS3 releases will be a great companion to that set

I hope u do individual reviews. I also received the exact same thing. The j card is wrong size, but that don't matter. I've read negative reviews on the 4k transfer on PS1& PS2. But I will have to see for myself. Great unboxing.

I was wondering about the wrap around and why it looked kind of off. I think I might do individual reviews of the movies and one big overview of the set, but in the overview talk about each movie and the look and sound and bonus features, so it'll be a bit of a long video. But I still haven't figured out exactly how to do it yet

Sometime down the road I think you should definitely dedicate a video to the Police Story trilogy comparing each of your copies dvd, vcd, and blu ray.

I was thinking of doing a video soon showing off all the versions I have. I would be very time consuming, but also really interseting I think, to do a video showing footage from every version. Maybe that's something I can work on later in the fall when I have a bit more down time. Great idea!

Do the full review of Supercop individually. For 1 & 2, talk about how Eureka handled the 4K since you talked about the movies on the Criterion review.

That's a good point on having talked about 1 and 2 before when I did the Criterion review. I was thinking I might review the Supercop stand alone release separately, then do the box in a sort of mega review/overview, then do individual list videos about the movies just for fun.

I was thinking of maybe doing a sort of overview review of the whole set to talk about the bonus material and the look of the films, and then doing separate individual videos for each movie. Might be a fun way to approach the set.

From what I've been told it's the same color grading as the Eureka blu ray set, done in a 4K remaster. But I don't have the Eureka Blu-ray set so I don't have a reference point for that. I can compare it to the Criterion release though. Curious to check it out

Thanks for the great video, it's really nice to see so much enthusiasm for the 4k release after reading all the not so positive first impressions on forums(most of which didn'teven have the set in hand). It's not surprising Eureka didn't have the budget for artworks, lobby cards etc as i think the boxset was underpriced..usually a 4k catalogue title costs around £20, so this set being £60 really is a low price, i would have paid a bit more for sure. I think you shot yourself in the foot there with the "pulling idea's out of your ass" lol, because they were all great ideas and we want to see all those video's and more. I'm so tempted to get a 4k tv so i can actually watch all these 4k titles i'm buying but it means that i would have to give up my 3D tv and I'm just not ready to do that, I almost bought one last black friday but 3D won. I don't know how old your kids are but i hope they get to watch JC films with you soon, you mentioned you're waiting for them to get older to watch the Bond films, i was about 5 or 6 when i started watching them with my brother..i guess my parents weren't very good at their jobs lol. Can't wait to get the 4k trilogy (KFB killing it as usual!!) and supercop in hand. Hope you feel better soon, especially since you've just signed yourself up for 100 new videos on these JC sets:-)

I definitely shot myself in the foot mentioning so many types of videos! It seems like everyone wants all of them. I definitely have my work cut out with me reviewing this set, but it's also going to be a joy to do because I love these movie so much. And I agree on the price, Eureka tends to not be super expensive in general it seems like. Which I obviously very much appreciate. My older son is five, he'll probably be old enough within the next few years to start with the Bond movies, and then I guess when the younger one catches up we'll watch them all again? I don't have any problem with that! I definitely saw them when I was very young, I especially remember watching the Roger Moore ones when I was a little kid because they were on TV all the time. I noticed a lot of negative comments from people who clearly do not have the set yet. Which strikes me is so silly. Eureka does great work, we all know that, and these are great movies, so why not support them? The thing I see everyone complaining about is a slight yellow tint on one of the films. I've watched the trailers and all the footage they've released and I've seen all the screenshots they put out for publicity for the set and I don't notice anything. Maybe it looks slightly different from the DVD but honestly who gives a shit? It's not like the movie is ruined. There are so many self proclaimed experts out there who would probably not even notice anything is any different if someone else hadn't pointed it out to them. People just love to complain instead of being happy for how lucky they are.

@@hkcinemasociety if this channel was your full time job and you had no life i would say bring on all the videos, but it isn't and you do so we're gonna take what we can get and be very happy with whatever you decide to do, good thing is you know we're interested in all your ideas so just pick which one/s you would enjoy covering the most and we'll be happy:-) I hope your kids enjoy the Bond movies when they're old enough to watch them, Jaws was my favourite character.. i should pick a Bond.. probably Sean. The postman knocked on my door 10 minutes after i watched your unboxing with the 4k set and the BD, The artwork is beautiful by KFB, i can't watch the discs but i don't think i would care too much about the yellow tint, if i even noticed it at all. I did pull the sleeves out and they all have nice inside artwork (that you obviously can't see through the black plastic cases) so i think i might swap the cases with some white ones. The artwork for supercop (BD) looks better in hand, and i really like the sleeve art ( i hadn't seen it before so that was a nice surprise). Super happy with both editions. I watched the trilogy only a few months ago but i don't think I've ever watched the dubbed version of supercop so I'll check that out soon, and watch the extras too. Looking forward to your reviews:-)

I like the original Hong Kong version. I think Stanely Tong has really great instincts as a filmmaker, and the tone and music and stuff he decides to leave in for the pacing and character development etc is always the right choice.

Hide your children! Will has the 4K Eureka Police Story boxed set. Great video man, I've got the Criterion set of 1 and 2 and I will be picking up the 88 Films US release of Super Cop. I'm thankful we are actually getting a US release of Super Cop.

I just dived my wallet into 3 and gave it to Criterion, 88 Films and ARROW, seemed to be the right thing to do since they are going to be decimating said wallet come November.

I got more lucky than lucky with Shawscope 2, an incredibly kind and generous friend ordered it for me, I just found out the other day. I'm beside myself at the act of kindness and also absolutely cannot wait to have it in my filthy little hands. I was hoping to review some more discs from Vol 1 for Shawtember this year but I got this cold I can't rid of and I've only watched like one movie in the past three weeks.

I can't wait until both the kids are a little older and we can really start going through all of Jackie's movies together! I also think my kids will LOVE the James Bond movies. Got another few years before they're ready for those though probably.

If they ditched the reversible artwork because of budget limitations, I am glad they did that and went for other extras. We got KFB on the big box so its the best of both worlds. Im sure many, along with myself, choose the original artwork anyways because of nostalgic reasons. Lobby cards and posters would be a nice addition though, but sometimes we cant have it all. I agree that only certain John Woo releases along with a Bruce Lee 50 year anniversary 4K release WITH the fully uncut versions would be on par with this. I, for one, would really enjoy a "Why PS2" review as its my favourite of the bunch! Either way, looking forward to upcoming videos! :D Now, get healthy!

I assumed it was a budget thing for the Kung Fu Bob artwork. I absolutely love the outter box art, and as I say in the video, I really dig the fact that the inner sleeves kind of look like VHS covers. It gives it a really great nostalgia value. Especially since the 4K cases are black like I remember so many VHS cases being. A Bruce Lee 50th anniversary 4K set would be the ultimate. I'm kind of surprised no one has announced anything along those lines. I did hear rumors Criterion was considering it, but I think they just announced their December titles and that's not in there, so I guess it's not coming this year, if it is on the horizon. PS2 is such a great film! I didn't realize until the last few years a lot of people think it's not quite as good as the other two. I'll have to do a video on why I believe that one is super underrated!

I'm pretty sure I've only see two of the versions of PS2, so I'd like to watch all three and maybe do a comparison video, I think that would be really fun. Not sure when I'll have time though!

Since you, I assume have the standard 1080P editions; are most of the special features the same? This looks really good, but I have no interest in investing in 4K anytime soon. I'd like the booklet though.

I have the Criterion set of Police Story went to which obviously has different material. I guess I could do a video comparing Eureka sets based on what's on their website, might be interesting. I do know at least some of the commentary tracks are new to the 4k set

@@hkcinemasociety I'd love a video like that. I have some Criterion collection sets like Police Story 1 & 2 and Once Upon a Time in China. Decent sets, but they lack commentary and dubs. I prefer subs to dubs anyway, because I love hearing Cantonese but I also like to see how the subs and dubs differ. Sometimes they go completely off the rail with dubs.

I actually got very lucky and Eureka was kind enough to send these to me to review because they know I'm a Jackie Chan super fan. That being said, because I don't have 4K capabilities right now, and I'm going to have to watch the 4K release at work, the standalone Supercop Blu-ray is a lot more convenient for me, and sits nicely alongside the Criterion Collection Police Story 1 and 2 set on my shelf. If I had the money, I'd buy both just because I'm a Jackie Chan completist. Although I guess I'm failing at that mission because I haven't picked up Half a Loaf of Kung Fu yet from 88!

It's hard times right now, that Righting Wrongs set and On the Run on the horizon are things I really want to get my hands on, as well as Gorgeous from 88, but then there's a lot of backlog stuff from earlier this year I wasn't able to pick up. Hard decisions to make! I did see 88 is putting out Supercop. I think the artwork for that release is fantastic. I'm curious to see what's going to be on it. I have gotten a few requests to compare the versions, but it will ultimately come down to what I have money for with all the things still coming out and all the stuff from earlier this year I'd still like to snag. You gotta be rich these days to keep up I tell you!

You mentioned Fallen Angels. What did they do to it that people didn't like? I wanted to gdt that bowser and I still will, but I was disappointed to see he'd put green on In the Mood for Love . Bummer. The original colours were fine. I wonder what he thought the green would bring to it. I noticed As Tears Go Bye doesn't have that issue, and it looks great too.

For Fallen Angels, the color grading is different, the aspect ratio is different, and there are a few things that have been changed from color to black and white. I honestly feel that it fits the film. I think both versions work. But some people were very upset about it. That would be a great release for the US. I wonder whether anyone in the US already has a license for it, like if one of the studios owns it and is sitting on it, or whether they could get the rights to put it out.
