Welcome to my walkthrough series of Pokemon Stadium! In this playthrough, I will cover the gameplay of all the Pokemon Stadium Cups (including Pokemon Stadium R2): Gym Leader Castle, Poke Cup, Prime Cup, Pika Cup, Petit Cup, and the final showdown against Mewtwo: the final boss of this game! I really hope you enjoy this Pokemon Stadium no commentary series.

Pika Cup is the lowest-level Stadium Cup in Pokémon Stadium. It is a cup for low level Pokémon between level 15 to level 20. The sum of the levels of the three Pokémon chosen cannot be more than 50.
Technically: all Pokémon except for Mewtwo and Mew are eligible to enter. However, getting strong Pokémon at that low of a level can get quite complicated. While some are catchable at low levels in certain versions (e.g. level 15 Dragonair in Pokémon Yellow), others are more complex and involve trading with in-game Trainers, then trading these Pokémon to different in-game Trainers in different games. Coincidentally, many of these involve Pokémon Yellow.
Several of the Trainers use underleveled Pokémon. However, some of these Pokémon become eligible with tradebacks.

- Mr. Fix uses a level 15 Magnemite in Round 1, which is unobtainable without glitches or tradebacks.
- Hiker uses a level 15 Seadra in Round 1, which is unobtainable without glitches.
- Swimmer uses a level 17 Seadra in Round 2, which is unobtainable without glitches.
- Burglar uses a level 15 Tentacruel in Round 2, which is unobtainable without glitches.
- Mr. Fix uses a level 15 Muk in Round 2, which is unobtainable without tradebacks or the Japanese Blue Version.
- Fisher uses a level 15 Machamp, Kangaskhan and Golem in Round 2. A level 15 Machamp is unobtainable without tradebacks, and a level 15 Golem and Kangaskhan is unobtainable without the Japanese Blue Version.
- Some of the rental Pokémon are at an illegal level. All rentals are level 15, but not all species offered can be obtained at this level.
- Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Nidorino, and Nidoking are not obtainable below level 16.
- Tentacruel and Seadra are not obtainable below level 20.
- Ponyta, Koffing and Seel are offered as rentals. While they are obtainable at level 15 with tradebacks, there is no other way to obtain them at any qualifying level. Ignoring tradebacks, their lowest possible levels are 28, 30 and 22, respectively.
- Some of the rental Pokémon also feature illegal movesets.
- Poliwrath knows Double Slap at level 15. This move is learned by its Pre-evolutions at levels 25 and 26 respectively, while the maximum level allowed is level 20, meaning Poliwrath can not use Double Slap in the cup without glitches or tradebacks.
- Cloyster knows Aurora Beam, Clamp and Supersonic at level 15. These moves are learned by its Pre-evolution at level 30, 23 and 18 respectively. The maximum level allowed is level 20, meaning Cloyster can not use Aurora Beam or Clamp in the cup without glitches or tradebacks. It also cannot legally use Supersonic at level 15.
- Gyarados knows Hydro Pump, Leer, and Bite at level 15. While these moves are learned by Gyarados at level 1 in Red, Green, and Blue, it is not possible to catch a level 15 Gyarados in those games without glitches. A level 15 Gyarados caught in Yellow only comes with Tackle due to a change in learnset. Due to this, it is impossible for Gyarados to use Hydro Pump or Leer in the cup without glitches or tradebacks. However, Bite can be used by a level 20 Gyarados, as it learns Bite at this level regardless of version.
- Certain Pokémon are not offered as rentals, despite being available at a low enough level.
- Level 15 Golduck, Slowbro, and Dragonair are available in Pokémon Yellow at Routes 6, 12, and the Safari Zone respectively.
- Level 18 Doduo are available in Pokémon Red and Blue at Route 16.
- Various Pokémon are also available at a low enough level through in-game trades, including Machamp, Electrode, and Rhydon.

For the 3rd battle against the swimmer i like to use powerful “not very effective” moves against his magikarp just to hear the narrator say “woah that was overpowering” 😂
Fun fact about battle 6… The dude will always use Rhyhorn so he has to use wigglytuff and seadra as well

Dragonair was so OP that u had to blow yourself up twice just to beat him lol.

Using only rentals its hard to win against the last opponent, if you get the lv 20 alakazam its a coin toss and its near impossible to beat it because its fast. With the dragonair its more possible, i would paralyze it with either voltorb or Dratini and just spam blizzard till Dratini bites the dust and use another pokemon

The semifinal is the hardest fight, because of her Tentacruel which she always uses against me. Thankfully I defeated it by paralyzing it.

The Pika Cup can be a tremendous pain, especially with only rentals. I was lucky to get past Mr. Fix and I still have yet to complete it. I heard Stadium 2 has a difficulty spike compared to Stadium 1, so if I can't get past Pika Cup with only rentals, then I can't imagine how hard making it through Stadium 2 would be.

To this day I don't understand how it works or how the power psywave attacks. There are times it does decent damage, other times it does a lot of damage and almost always it doesn't take away any HP. I love your videos of Pokémon Stadium.

Yep having trouble getting past since it out speeds everything. Even to paralyze it. It out speeds voltorb too.

@@kerriwarasila786 Also because Special stat includes both sp atk and sp def in gen 1, tentacruel is fast and very strong.

@@ChrisPTY507 for sure. When I used my own pokemon I would use my starmie at lv 20 to counter but that is unavailable at this time. So I'm doing my best with the rental team.

Yeah but i kinda feel that pokemon stadium 2 is a bit easier than his pkmn stadium 1 counterpart
Hope Nintendo release this game on Switch or they will do make a N64 classic

When I was a kid it took me years and years to beat him. Don’t get me started on the Dragonair.
Great now i just need to copy this team and i will save time on Pokémon yellow

Instead of copying it, make a team that better suit your style. I’ve gotten a couple of comments of people copying my teams and still can’t get through these cups.

@@ChrisPTY507 Before watching this video, I actually won this tournament with a rental team earlier today. Haunter, Kadabra, and Nidoking made half my team, and the other half was Chansey, Kingler, and Raticate. The semi final and the final match used up my continues, but each pokemon had a part to play in winning this tournament.

@@thatguy7959 Exactly lol. i always thought that the whole idea of this cup is stack any continue the player may have and reserve them for the 2 final battles because they are the most difficult.

@@PaloJaurez Yeah this means the player will have to use the gen 1 glitch that allows you to get any pokemon at any level. There should be lots of info on other youtuve videos on how to exploit this glitch in RBY. You'd need to move those pokemon to pokemon stadiu using Transfer Pak, though..
