Rick Perry , I love this guy, and his brother, when he is there. His personality is great. I think he reminds of my son, when he was young. This is one of my favorite songs too. It is excellent! There is no comparison to David Gilmour’s guitar playing. He will love it. ❤️🌹❤️

When that album came out I was leaving in Europe. We were in Malta then walking downtown Valletta and in the streets were playing The Wall. My son was almost two and a half years old and was singing “We don’t need Not education..” so cool. That was March 1980! British country then that year Malta was free. Great memories

You are very wrong about this, my friend. This song came out on 'The Wall!' That album was only on the charts for 15 weeks. Dark Side Of The Moon is the album you're thinking of. It was on the album charts from 1973-1988. 741 weeks. Almost 15 years. Not 19.

When any great guitarist plays, you know who the fuck it is. They're just like singers whose voices can be imitated but never replicated. Think: Hendrix. Gilmour, Clapton, Prince, et al...all play guitars yet we know their voice when we hear it. Gilmour is unmistakable, every fucking time. Surprised the Queen hasn't fucking knighted him yet, frankly, for his contribution to British music and the listening world. Apologies if she has and I missed it. I'm a lousy, loud American.

@@phillstevenson4931 Comfortably Numb, one of Pink Floyd’s most beloved songs, from The Wall (1979), with its melody and music by David Gilmour and lyrics by Roger Waters, describes a state of loss: the protagonist is someone who is anaesthetised before coming on stage. I hear you’re feeling down Well I can ease your pain Get you on your feet again Can you show me where it hurts? In an interview released in the 80s, Waters said that much of the song comes from something that really happened one evening when, in order to allow him to perform in Philadelphia, the doctor gave him a sedative for a severe stomach ache, which had probably caused by nerves. On the stage, his hands were numb and his vision blurred, but none of this derailed the crowd, who continued to dance and sing. And it was out of this that one of the main themes of The Wall came about: the disconnect between the public and the band.

heck yes back in the 1979 future pink floyd was part of a great era of timeless music. Music that was influenced from others in the past, and will influence more in the future. I have to add a few things that I know as an old dude. 1) To get a true experience of Pink, shut every thing else off except your music, lights out, relax in your comfy couch, and listen to, "The dark side of the Moon", from the start to the end. 2) The ooh ohh voice that you will hear is Clair Torry. She is from the UK and has the most soul power of any song that we might hear in any song ever.. She was paid $300 for that session back in 1979. There was a lawsuit since then and I do trust that she has been compensated since then. I hope that she was. 3) "The Wall", is a video that was high tech and creative back in the day. It has great animation and undertones that is Floyd. 4)Roger lost his father in WW2 , that was the basis of "the wall", and it worked well. 5) Pink Floyd mixed emotions and Roger Waters split. 6)Time went on, more to it. 7) More to it... 8) David Gilmore, retired this year, sold his guitars at auction and donated it to science. fck ya. what the heck did I do.

This is one of the greatest albums ever made. A lot of the underlying themes of their music is about how war, greed, money and the mechanization of human danger is destroying human souls. You got everything important the first time through. Why not get a cheap bass guitar when you are able to. You clearly have the mind for music based on your reactions. Something to think about.

@Rune Larsen - Shame that with a name related to "audio" you got such a narrow view... It's the SAME solo... GIlmour told that it's one of those solo he always almost play it "verbatim" because he knows fans want THE solo... The studio is the SHORTER one... I like the movie one, longer, with the screaming at the end while he transmute to a worm-fascist. The live/Pulse version is the "full extended" one... From day 1 Gilmour had already this solo on his side, they just shorten it for the album... It was not streaming at the time, the side of a vinyl disc was limited. So no, it's NOT 1000 times better, it's just longer, because live he plays it all. (*) Of course there might be some variation here and there, he's not a robot.
