That's great, but multicrew needs Non-combat roles and more depth. Add missions for multi-crew, non-combat roles: Navigator, Engineer, more options for the existing roles, multicrew SRVs.

I been thinking this hardcore, and they could be stocked with like 15 collector limpets that release from the fighter's secondary, and then the resources they collect get flown to the mothership. Perhaps they could even store a little bit themselves. It'd be really emersive for mining with friends. Especially when taking big ships mining and having the fighter's equipped with the deepcore mining hardpoints. The big ships would essentially be the storage bin lmaœ. I'd love it. It'd be helpful solo too.

@@Supremax67 You can bring along 2 SRVs on your ship, but still no-go (even after years) for multi-crew accessing them in any way - until I learned that I figured that was the point of bringing multiple, guess all it does after all is give a backup if you destroy one of them.

I wish we could walk inside and out of the ship on our own 2 legs :-\

What the hell with this comment section, there is no good space game in the world then. NMS is boring, ED is boring, EVE is boring, star citizen is not even out. Space theme game are meant to be like this. Come on, give some times to the Devs and just patiently play the game. Multicrew seems quite exciting! I cannot wait to get in and fly with you all! I'm excited for more features relating to Multicrew to come as well.. It's going to be neat to have the explorer type roles, mining roles...trading roles..and other finer detailed roles. The future for elite is looking rather nice. I would keep track of rewards and adjust them as needed (I noticed a few people complaining about this! Saying it wasn't rewarding enough to use Multicrew )

after discovering elite last year, playing solely solo, i would really like to have npc filled ship ( would depend on actual ship seats availability and if fighter bay compatible, role expanded for fighter bay role ships like listed in below ideas ) non combat and defence roles, with tiers and experience of selected specialists ( they would share profits of actions they're designed for few ideas are : scanning specialist, an automatic way to explore systems, this wouldn't be overpowered due to positioning of the ship in the system to a softspot and staying there, better tier specialist would be able to navigate you to a top of a star and you'd enjoy your refuel there while he's scanning, if you'd have an navigation and scanning specialist onboard they could direct you to a system worth checking once and a while engineer, operating your defence modules in combat, and repair modules offcombat biospecialist, someone who would operate something similar to fighter bay ship, but with scanners, a second hand guiding through planet and showing you spots of vegetation, low tiered ones could give you false positive sites or sites with larger spectrum to find a desired plant, combined with scanning specialist it could get more percise navigation specialist who would plot you a better neutron highway ( instead of using csv with web generator, that kills the gameplay a bit, but that could be hard to code ) astrogeologist with knowledge of asteroids worth extracting, he could operate now useless turret lasers or a fighter bay ship designed to mine, one ship for laser, other for abrasion, maybe the highest tear could go as far as sub surface, blowing up asteroids should be only advised on how strong charge to use there are a lot of more ideas that could benefit this beautiful game, and knowing how the one server for all model operates, it could get restrictions in online play npc crew IMO should get an overhaul in a similar idea like the ones above

I really hope this is expanded upon. because right now it isn't much to enjoy other then other a Gunner. I feel like there is so much potential to make multicrews fun. I mean, cyber warfare needs to be a thing. One of your crew working to hack the enemy ships vital systems such as shields, weapons, even oxygen. Would really bring space combat to another level.

Help please. Every time I join another ship, there's a ship hologram in the center, instead of a radar. You can see it at 1:57 - behind the session display. So below that hologram there are buttons - 1 and 2. A think they switch the view between a radar and a ship. I can't find where to switch that in the controls, regular UI buttons don't affect it! So how can I do it?

This is exactly what ive been waiting for i dont care that it doesnt pay well i dont care that you get penalties look all you have to do is just join in , the only one taking the risk is the helm so it makes sense he gets the reward if you want more reward just get into a cheap eagle and follow the multicrew ship as part of a wing im betting both can be stacked against envirinment if you have 5 ships in a wing dropping 1 fighter each played from players thats 10 ships not to mention the AI extra ship that could be docked making for a fleet of 5 big ships and ten fighters player controlled.

since the update my keyboard doesn't work correctly anymore... :( I can still type messages, but all keybinds that control the ship don't work, also the escape key doesn't work anymore, so I can't even quit the game properly. Inside the options I can't bind keys from the keyboard to anything anymore. Completely screwed.

It would be cool if the multicrew could also drive the Scarabs. It's pretty strange to not allow that considering that some hangars have space for up to 4 scarabs.

sounds like it could actually make fun. I will give MC a try for sure. I don't like the fact that there are only 3 seats, but 4 possible roles (1xhelm,1xgunner, 2xfighter). it would be nice if there were additional passenger seats. with passenger seats, you could join a ship to talk with the crew or watch what they are doing. if another player leaves the gunner role to enter a fighter you could fill that empty gunner's place or use a fighter yourself if available.

So...we getting multi crew SRV access yet or..?

wich is inspired by wich interstelar piloto from this AMAZING or this game from interstelar pilot both have similar things like trading the factions that you can make friendly ir enemy a lot of things but this game is much more interstelar pilot is like a portble game on your phone.

yes, you do need Horizons. The only feature available in base game is ship naming... I was hoping that at least Holo Me (character creator) will be present in base game but even that is locked to Horizons.

When as the Helm, it would be a nice change if you could make the helm select what roles thats available for the crew. In my Anaconda`s case i dont want people as gunner, i want 2 people in fighters.

I have purchased horizons and wish to use this new feature however, when my friend joins my ship, the only thing that's available in the role of gunner is Kill Warrant Scanner. when he goes into the firegroups tab, it shows Kill Warrant Scanner as something he can control but all other turrets and utilities say 'In use by other crew'. i have a Cobra Mk. III with 4 turrets. are we missing something? please help!

PLEASE... make the other crew members to see as they operate and look on left and right panels. It would be much more realistic, then default animation, and mabe head turning is synchronized but no PANELS pops out. No need to implement headtracking positions as this would be hard on internet speed, but simply watching others working as in real on their orange menus and looking on them and switiching would be very exciting ... thanks for this game anyway

Number key 0 is the default hotkey for it.

Multicrew is fun and all but i was looking forward to some canyon racing in the fighters with my friend but found out the hard way that for whatever reason thats not something frontier can allow.

you have to press down on the left stick to switch to gunner mode!

they already did this from launch. shipyard -> stored ships -> transfer you can get out of your ship, into another one my point is: why would you need to ever get out of your ship in a spaceship game?

They did, but the update will only come to PC. Adds a small first person shooter portion to the game, and I believe there are other uses

I've only done a few sessions and twice had to kick gunners who didn't use the SCB's....500,000cr repair bills when you have 3 SCB's available are annoying

Supposedly yes. I am currently trying to see how you set that up tho (do I need to set up a separate fire group for them or something)

and don't say its fun... when all you can do is shoot stuff... wheres exploration? Navigation panels for explorers? Exploration data? No? Oh ... so every single explorer in the game is now annoyed because we haven't had an update to any of exploration gameplay for bloody ages. - Ship launched fighters... combat focused. - Multicrew - combat focused. Hmm do you see a pattern here? Pick one of the options above and choose which should have Exploration gameplay included... like you promised us... You can't just release this update in this state... if it was delayed another 2 weeks just so you can add a few more extra features then great! I honestly feel the next thing you should focus on is adding hotfixes and features rather than saying "later" hell just go employ more people for your team!

Only 3 players in a multicrew? Why not 4 if you can have two fighters? And I really wish this "looking for group" would be available for wings as well. Or a friggin LFG global chat channel!

souldry Frontier needs to balance immersion and convenience. If you had to physically meet to crew up, it would never be used.

Do this awesome new feature; but unless you are the pilot you will get almost nothing... I love this game. But, seriously you guys screwed up with the way you did multi crew. You actually get penalized doing multi crew than if you just each flew your own ships.

If this is essential for your to walk around in a flight- and trading simulator, then you should reconsider your game genre. It's like complaining about a walking simulator where you can't fly. Ridiculous. It will be a feature in the near future, but certainly not the core element of the game, if you haven't got what Elite is all about, then you certainly haven't understood the slightest about the meaning of this game. It's not for you. So, move on. Play _'Dear Esther'_ , there you can walk around and explore until you die of boredom.
