After a year of Elite, I've still never been a gunner. Might have to now lol, looks fun

I haven't yet either but my Type 10 has helped other players experience gunner role and they all said it was a very fun experience. If you were doing PvP, you can basically ignore the other person's FA off skill level because you have 360 aiming and since T10 just have that many guns, a lot of FA off combat ships are smaller or medium sized, the onslaught of 5 thermal shock beam lasers and scramble spectrum and corrosive shell sort of just throw all the FA off aiming skills out of the window. Overall highly recommended.

gotta say thats a beautiful video, i just wanted to see more about multicrew and you just made me more impatient to wait for my friend to come home from work to do the same

How does this work? How do you choose which turrets your gunner can and can’t control? Setting up a multi crew/solo/escorted mining ship and am setting up different fire groups

Your gunner controls all of the turrets that is in a specific fire group

Ok so I have officially done multicrew with a gunner and here is what you need to do. You need to make a set of fire groups for your gunner, mainly turrets and limpets, since you cannot change or use those modules once you are in multicrew. Then you need to go in ship settings on the panel. There will be wo extra options for multicrew, and you need to give full control of the turrets to the gunner. And then you should be set. KEEP IN MIND YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR FIRE GROUPS OR OUTFIT/ENGINEER YOUR SHIP ONCE YOU ARE IN MULTICREW. YOU HAVE TI DISBAND COMPLETELY BEFORE YOU COULD CHANGE.

Is this still how the multicrew gunners view is? Feels so immersive breaking to just have a camera floating way out behind the ship to aim lol...

How do you manage to get into gunner mode when i press enter mode in multicrew enter role nothing hapends thanks :)

Not sure why nothing happens, maybe a bug. Should be done like this. First you need to select gunner mode if available and then toggle mode (see multi-crew key bindings toggle mode)

I know this is a few years old but it's not working for me. I tried do what everyone suggests but nothing. I don't understand why it can't be as easy as selecting the role and play as the gunner.

@@sarge1349 The ship needs at least one turreted weapon and that weapon shouldn't be assigned by the Cmdr at the helm. The gunner then needs to assign the available weapon(s). That's how I understand it at least... I encounter bugs getting this setup so often, I pretty much limit multi crew to space tours for my young kids.

Been really enjoying this game. I'm saving for the Beluga, about halfway, and excited to see one of my buddy's to utilize the fighters on deck.

do you know whats the cheapest ship that supports mulit crew gunner?

@@rednaxel04 I have an adder, it supports multi crew but it just lets your friend sit around. I’m talking about the ones with a full on gunner seat like in the video

@@shocks6025 Not an ED expert, but I thought that for gunner build all you need is a multi crew ship, a turret and two players. If not then it sucks. May be there are some good tutorials

@@shocks6025 yes, you need a turret. There a some confusing settings for turrets, you need to allow crew to control it.

Are those multi-cannons fixed?!?
