Thanks, a useful tutorial to remind me how to drive these things, you probably have a newer guide now, but this is what the algorythm wanted me to watch, cheers.

"Remember to land on your wheels so you're less likely to damage the vehicle" -falls on wheels -takes damage

And if you happen to fall through the surface of the planet in your SRV, try returning to the main menu then return to the game. You may be several meters above the ground, try to control your decent so you don't take too much damage!

okay after playing regular elite on xbox i got it with horizons on steam for pc. So far so good. First time flying...flight control is weird and mouse is ultra sensitive... okay i got used to it feels better now.... somehow i Managed to Land on a planet called dustball, nice...got in my srv, accidentally made my ship fly away and Destroyed my srv...10/10 i love this game

If "Drive Assist" only affects the throttle, maybe why not call it "Throttle Assist" Might alleviate the frustrations I successfully navigated last night

I often called this feature crash assist...

So my camera once i land my ship on a planet or surface it seems to be zoomed in and my menus are all cut off in my view i cant even launch my fuking srv pls help

Yeah, I can't find these Planetary Vehicle Hangars. I've checked god knows how many freaking stations. None of them have them. Something is bugged, I know I'm not missing something. What a pain in the ass though, sheesh.

+Krihlus Where do you have your launcher? On steam or directly from the web-sight? I went to their web-sight on my account to get a product key to put into steam which gave me a new launcher. And then the problem was fixed for me.

I don't have the Steam version, but yeah I dealt with the same thing. Checked the station again after logging in later and seeing a "Horizons" play button. Sure enough the hangar modules were in Outfitting.

I no joke landed some where and then took off (i just gotten game on ps4) and my ship I guess flew away and I couldn't "find" it and I had to go to bed and I thought if I loged off my ship or srv would be gone so I almost got my stuff token away and just diced to kill y self, but I didn't know you could just turn off life support so I went to a bass (another ten minuets) then got a 2400 fine for attacking a base to kill myself at the beginning of the game

What can you do in an SRV that you cant do in a ship?

Why wasn't this part of the base game..? Seems like such a small thing to implement, yet here we are a year later and a full paid expansion later and oh, we can actually go to a planet's surface and drive around 98% empty wasteland, and a barebones port. I just.. don't understand.

planetary landing isn't the only thing in horizons, plus the nexts season we'll be getting more planets

+Ace Strife They'll add all planet types, multi-crewed ships, fighter hangars, character customization, more types of surface vehicles and a few other things I forgot. This is just the initial, barebones release.

Funnily enough I checked steam and it's listed as Early Access. Sure hope it says Early Access until it's finalized, because that's finally accurate as to what the game really is.

+Ace Strife - Planetary landings were listed as a payed expansion from day one of the development process. I agree with you, that the current state is pretty much early access, but that is the way Elite is developed. They throw in a working technology and then tweak and add to it, over the course of the season. That is no hidden information. So far i have had a lot of fun exploring in the Horizons expansion and i am really looking forward to multi-crew, looting, crafting, character generator and all the other stuff, that will follow within the Horizons update.

+Ace Strife of course it's early access, hence why they are releasing Horizons in seasons,and that's why you get a discount for buying horizons if you already have base game, so it means you are just paying for the horizons and not the base game again because horizons includes the base game, that's why it costs so much.

Where do I find phosphorus? Keep in mind that my SRV has no fuel

Here's something I found out: it's actually easier to drive the SRV with assistance OFF. Drive assist is good for long stretches of flat terrain, but that rarely happens. Also, if you're on a low gravity planet and you put three pips into your engines you basically become a jet if you're careful.

The bar on the side that appears when you go airborne show rate of accent/decent. If the bar goes in the red (or whatever the last color segments are if you're using a modded HUD like me) you will take damage when you land no matter where you land. I've also noticed you'll take damage even when the bar isn't red though if you're close to it being red. When falling, try to keep the bar 2 or 3 segments above the red. If you land on your wheels then, you shouldn't take any damage.

George Murray Mmm how about no. Most games are 60 straight out the gate and even just base Elite Dangerous has enough content to be worth the full 60. At least they update their game with actual ground breaking additional content instead of just "Hey here's a new skin for your seats lol btw that'll be 10$"
