I’m getting 10% off the total scope I’m not sure if that’s fair pay or not. My process consists of 1.Get the client all door knocking 2.Being able to do inspection/Performing inspection / Get homeowner to sign contingency agreement 3.Insurance deal, Cash deal, or Finance(Send You and Your insurance doc and our service doc if going with Insurance) 4.List scope of work(SOW) 5.Scope details. Ex..What color shingle, stain fence(if applicable) 6.Send contract for scope of work(SOW contract & DOP contract) 7.Get with Project Manager for scheduling and project details (Sales Meeting) 8.Coordinate all supplements with Project Manager (Ending balance will be collected by PM if available or Sales Associates) 9.Coordinate with estimator to send letter of completion & DOP to get signed by the insured and then sent to insurance desk adjuster to release depreciation check. 10.Suggestive Selling! Exa..Refer to any home project the home owner may want! *If roof has solar panels let client know to schedule a date with his solar company to remove panels.

@@hyphey15 That's between you and the company :) Every company pays differently based on how they are set up, what you are responsible for, and how you are hired on (1099 or W2). I would speak directly with the owner or manager to find out :)

Thanks for the reply Adam! Great job on the videos! So if I’m 1099 do you recommend that I open an LLC for tax and other purposes as sole proprietor? This is what’s confusing to me cuz if I’m a 1099 sales rep should I have an LLC. I’m Currently only selling for the one company because I’m new to this. As of right now I’m not climbing roofs, just selling. Advice appreciated thank you.

I worked as an independent claims adjuster for over 10 years. I left the industry back in 2012 due to the IA firm I worked with closing. Getting in somewhere else was challenging (very niche) industry. I left the industry altogether and I am now finding myself interested in perhaps trying roofing sales. A few concerns for me are : (1) Roof safety. Some roofs are steep, high and difficult to climb. Harness and lifeline would have to be used I think. (2) The company being honest with you regarding your commission. The amount and payment periods. Do they pay weekly, bi-weekly or after completion of job?
