Pearlescent swirls on the gel plate | Monoprinting Day 5

I'm working on a round gel plate using regular acrylics and pearlescent paint. Love how the prints came out (even though some edges were a bit damaged)!

I like the color combination Juna!! And it is perfect imperfect!! If that makes sense? lol I really like that the circle is not all perfect! It does become more interesting!! Thanks for sharing!! And yeah I will have to dig out my tiny gel plate lol The reason why I have the smallest size is that I just wanted to try out first if I like to do prints. And I do! Will see if I can afford to buy a larger one sometime soon lol But saying that, the small one is fun too and I get a nice collection of collage papers!

Smaller ones are great too. Why not make a mini artwork? That may be a really fun challenge! 😀 Thanks for watching Mona!

How does it lift so cleanly off the plate ? I am finding a lot left behind on the plate even when I leave it to dry for ages before pulling.

Hi Katrina, that's hard for me to tell. It can be the type of paint, or perhaps you're letting it dry too long. Many factors are infuencing the drying time, also for example the thickness of the layer, the room temperature etc. So it really is all about experimenting! 🙂
