Beautiful 'ancient' metallics on the gel plate | Three Bronze Medallions | Monoprinting Day 26

I'm creating three bronze medallions against a textured background today on the gel plate. Ok, not really 'ancient', but they look the part!

Looking great Juna. The metallics always seems to have a life of its own (for me) and I was happy to see the pickup print worked great. The gellplate is a exciting tool. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next.

I love this process, and your result is fabulous! Thank you so much! Can't wait to give this a try. A couple questions: 1) When you did the final dark layer was the paint still thinned with matte medium? 2) Do you clean the paint off your wood stamps?

Yay, glad you like it! At the final part it was just a little bit thinned. It's good to build it up step by step and check each time how dark you want to go. No, I just dab them off. But even though I have them for several years and they work fine, I don't know if that's the best recommendation in all cases for everyone... 😁

How have you attached your plate to the glass or plexiglass. It seems it would slip off when you turn it completely over. Great prints thanks for sharing

Thanks so much Gloria! No, the gel plate doesn't slip off, it just sticks to the plexiglass. 🙂

Do you have to varnish these prints? If so, what do you use? It’s beautiful ❤️

It depends on what you do with them. You can frame them behind glass, then you don't really need to varnish them (don't hang them in direct sunlight). If you want to hang them without glass it's good to varnish them. I would use a spray varnish in that case, spray several layers. Glad you like it!

@@junabiagioni thank you, Juan. I’m just starting out and yesterday I grabbed what was left of some leaves outside and made some really pretty leaf pictures for the first time. ❤️
