Agree, I have one side project that generate a revenue, but it is not passive 100%. Support, App update time to time, developing new features, fixing problem for new devices. And it's took quite a while to build product, site, media around. Even it's not that much money, it's quite fun and good entrepreneurship experience that help to land good consultant deals too. Enjoy the sun!

Another fun video with great tips! I think it feels more like passive income because you own your own time more. It's different working on your own products vs working for someone else's products. At least, that's how I feel about it. Client work for me is almost always like a 9-5 due to unwritten rules where as working on my own products I can take a few hours off and go to the gym in the middle of the day or something similar. Enjoy the rest of the holidays!

Yes, freedom for sure is the biggest benefit for me. Also, if you are working on your self there is no ceiling for revenue. It is hard to earn significant money from the AppStore, but in theory you can earn much more than working for others.

That’s descent way to make a coffee, can recommend. Starbucks was quite consistent with Albers, perhaps I should stick with that for Spanish speaking countries 😅

The only true passive income is stocks and royalties. Like you said, app development isn’t truly passive (since you need to support it) but we can disconnect time from revenue, and it’s a lot more scalable. I think there’s a lot to be said for scalability - I’d rather have my own app I can 2x a year and put in the work, compared to never lifting a finger for slow growth. (Pro tip, do both, stocks are good for long term investment)

Hi Aivars, one question, imagine that you started your apps in 2024, considering world economic stagnation, inflation, prices rising - on which sum will you count on after first year of your apps sales in 2025 for ex. ? Take in mind, you started in 2016 from 152 usd in the year. Thank you.

Starbucks coffee is cool, I especially liked Pike Place, it's a pity they stopped selling it in the country where I live now because of sanctions, you can only buy it at a triple price imported semi-legally.

Agree, developing apps or in some cases software can feel as if it is passive income and it comes close to that. Truly passive income you just get on the stock market earning dividends, thats it.

My guess is that YT channel and audience is helpful to release new products and get initial push for them, but you can't expect daily downloads just from that. If App target audience and content fits perfectly, that's different, but it is not my case.
