Specifications of the ferry GRAND MANAN ADVENTURE:
This single-ended roll on/roll off vessel spans approximately 85.5 meters in length, 18.5 meters in width, and 7.2 meters in height. It can carry up to 380 passengers and 82 cars. The ferry, delivered in 2009, is currently providing service between Blacks Harbour and the Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick, Canada.
Equipped with 2 EMD 12-cylinder engines and 2 Caterpillar C-18 generators, the ferry can smoothly navigate the rough water conditions in the Bay of Fundy. It also boasts hydraulic hoist-able ramps, specially designed doors for quick stowing of vehicles, and an uncommon feature on North American ferries: a high-pressure water mist firefighting system.

It's been a few years since I was on this ferry but it's definitely a great adventure to go visit this island. If it's nice get on the top deck and count the lighthouses you see on the way over, 5 at least, head harbor lightstation on Campobello is my favorite with the rec cross on it. I saw whales and porpoises as well from the top deck. The GM adventure and GM V are definitely better than the old GM four, the black boat as it was called, now retired. I was over on that boat a number of times, much smaller and a squeeze to get on board. Hiking, birding, photography, and more awaits you on the island. The newish grocery store in the middle of the island to get supplies and coffee. Grand Manan and Campobello island(the ferry from deer island to Campobello is a must) are the real gems to visit in NB, I highly recommend if you love ferries, nature, the ocean, wildlife and just to get away from it all. 🙂

A fellow shipspotter here in New Brunswick and an avid fan of your Just Ferries YT account. Nice set and another superb video! I wonder if you have plan of covering The Cat (Alakai) from Yarmouth, NS to Bar Harbour, Maine? That would be awesome.

After the canada video block, which will continue into september, there will be a video of a sightseeing flight over Travemünde, Warnemünde and Rostock. Then it continues with ferries in the Adriatic area. There are no further excursions planned at the moment, but I hope to be able to make new travel plans soon. Many greetings!
