The ATLANTIC VISION, a fast ro-pax ferry, boasts impressive specifications that make it a standout vessel in North American waters. Originally christened in 2002 as the SUPERFAST IX, this behemoth was built in Kiel, Germany. She is currently owned by the Estonian company Tallink and operates under charter to Canadian operator Marine Atlantic.
Throughout its service history, the MV ATLANTIC VISION has undergone significant changes. It transitioned from Superfast Ferries' European routes to Tallink's Baltic operations, before finding its current home with Marine Atlantic in 2008. The vessel underwent several refits, notably in 2004 and 2008, to enhance its passenger and vehicle capacities. As of 2016, it operates between North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and the Newfoundland ports of Channel-Port aux Basques and Argentia. Notably, it has the distinction of being the fastest and largest KW-rated ferry in North America.

My dad was a miner back in the late fifties, and sixties. I was born over there, but the mine closed in 1969, so we moved back to Cape Breton. I miss it. It's a beautiful place. We used to travel to Cape Breton every summer for vacation, and I loved the ferries. We travelled on the William Carson, Leif Erickson, Stena Nordica. There were a lot more ferries then than there are now. I've been back a few times to visit friends we still have over there. We lived in a small place called Little Bay, and we used to have huge icebergs that came into the harbour there. So beautiful!

Thank you so much for sharing your memories. It's interesting to hear about your dad's mining days and your time in Little Bay. The image of huge icebergs in the harbour sounds breathtaking. Cape Breton is indeed a stunning place. I like it very much.

Really enjoyed that! The Superfast are really something. You could have been on any of the original 12 in many of the shots. I guess she will be back in Europe once the new Eflexor comes. Such nice scenery there, definitely on my to-do list!

Thank you for watching, Mitchell! The Superfast ferries indeed have a distinct style that stands out. I'm also curious to see where she'll end up. The scenery around here is truly breathtaking and I'm glad it's on your to-do list. When you do visit, I hope you have as wonderful an experience as I had capturing these shots.

wie immer gutes Video, aber warum fahren sie die Pkw unten auf das Deck und die Lkw nach oben? Naja und ein wenig Farbe und Rostpflege wäre wohl nicht schlecht. Die sieht ja echt teilweise schlecht aus.

It is really a sign of a poor Captian when you can see that much RUST on a ship. Makes you wonder what else is not kept up.
