    NEOECO also has a set with a small compressor. The whole package was around 100€. On Amazon there's usually a similar package with Fengda or so on. I've been mulling this and that set over for a long time and I'm sort of leaning towards this.

    It certainly seems like a higher quality package than similar deals available in the past. Definitely an affordable entry into airbrushing.

    Well done and genuine review! Very close to what a random user might experience. Good work. I’m actually thinking of getting this one, I have a H&S, too. A small side note: if you want a thin layer of Dunkelgelb, don’t spray it over black. Use red oxide primer color instead. Than the real in real colors will be on a whole different level!

    Perfect timing, I've been attempting a come back to modeling for quite some time. The learning curve has been steeper than anticipated getting to know the volume if supplies available. . I should have checked my air brushes first. I'm ready to starting painting and have discovered my air brushes and compressor were probably used by Michael Angelo . Its probably going to be best to invest in something new like this airbrush and pressure controlled compressor than search for new parts and hoses on my old equipment. I organized my old stash and discovered lots of paint mules.so I'm almost there. So thanks for this video its definitely going to help. CHEERS from the colonies.

    I got one of these airbrushes in a set with a usb compressor. Both are surprisingly good for £50 total spent. Two issues I've had with the airbrush: 1: the thread stripped in the black part for the needle backstop. I fixed this by wrapping some foil tape around the backstop screw, which gave it just enough bite to work again. 2: using acrylics, I've found the nozzle a bit difficult to fully clean, because of its depth.

  • @ModelNerd

    Great demonstration Stu, I have never bought a leading brand airbrush, I'm currently using an airbrush from Border Model, it does a great job and is just under $80-00 AUD, might have to try these out and save some money, more towards the stash...

    That's a very good review and I think for the money that is a bloody good airbrush kit. One minor criticism for me is that it appears a little chunky, especially with that bell end nozzle. Having used airbrushes for many years I would say there are four things in the acid test with dual action airbrushes. The first is a really progressive flow of paint as the trigger is pulled back, the worst case scenario is pulling back on the trigger and getting no flow of paint and then suddenly a lot of paint. An airbrush that does this is rubbish. The second fault is spatter when doing small spots or fine lines. An airbrush that does this is no good for fine detail work. The third is the paint drying in the nozzle when doing fine work with very little paint flow, like small spots, so you are getting the air flowing and pulling back very slowly for paint and nothing comes out or initially paint flows then stops. Usually if you take the airbrush off the work and pull right back for paint it usually will start flowing again but if you are using the trigger limiter this problem is a real pain. The fourth issue is when an airbrush gives a little spot or short flow of paint when the trigger is just pressed for air. Alternatively the paint is not fully shutting off. This again is a real pain for detail work. You could say some of these faults like spattering or the nozzle drying off is down to paint preparation but I would say that if an airbrush is very sensitive to paint thinning then it is a bit of a pain. If the paint has to be very thin then it can easily run or fail to cover well.

  • @ModelNerd

    @ModelNerd

    8 ай бұрын

    I agree with your points, Allan. The only time I have the "air flow also produces paint" problem is when I haven't properly assembled the airbrush though - the needle isn't far enough forward into the nozzle when the trigger is neutral. But you're right, the better tools are less sensitive to these issues / make them harder for you to cause.

  • @ModelNerd

    Hi. It connected to my "standard" hose, which I believe is 1/8 inch BSP and is used by most popular brands. It's the same connection my H&S airbrush uses, and I believe they are now owned by Iwata.

    I an looking to get a new airbrush, I bought my first and current one on the recommendation of someone on youtube ironically and results have been sporadic from the start, I certainly would not recommend it. I have done a few models with it but sometimes it refuses to work as it should, so at the price of the Neoeco and others such as Fengda Ishall be looking to change very soon, thanks for your review.

    The air on off trigger constantly sticks in the 'on' position, this despite thorough cleaning and lubrication and sometimes when I try to paint hardly any paint comes out , which means that I have to empty the paint cup and blow through with thinners , which sometimes works, or a total stripdown and start again. @@ModelNerd

    Great kit. The price is amazing for what you get. Really good quality and many options, unlike a lot of higher end kits. Also, so many I see complain airbrushing is expensive, usually due to the 85-160.00 Air brush kits. Compressors are easy to get, some already with regulators. Just picked up one from Amazon today, it also comes in RED.. Cheers!
