Thors second rep in the axle was not given by all the refs. So it was not given as a good lift and therefore only got credited with one rep.

And cost him the podium, that was a really bad call. I mean, Thor 's rep should not count cause he was still struggling but was the reffs call, not calling it in the moment meant Thor had options, like fix his lock or try another rep harder... Taking it afterwards means you have no more options. Finally that put him in split points with Martins and Bobby.

@@antoniocenteno1483 Thor wasn't given the rep at all. The side judges call it then the main judge gives the down, which didn't happen. Only one side judge called it (which was the only judge visible on stream). They just messed up on the graphics and the commentary saying he got it.

Yeah it's still a bit flawed having any ref giving a down signal if a rep isn't going to count. I believe the other two judges only give the good signal after it's down anyways. They should have just all judges give a signal white/good signal, or if they want to wait until weight is put down then no judges give a signal and leave it to the athlete.

He is just one of these freaks of nature that can be successful in multiple disciplines. The guy ran marathons for crying out loud. Plus he’s got a masters in kinesiology. Most of these other competitors just don’t have the flexibility or body control to do the things Mitch does. It’s kind of like how Michael Jordon was. The fact he can press like this is insane because his shoulders must be so strong but he needs to correct this. It's like running on sand. I'm curious if he's always been like this. They should livestream the wsm and also still have the tv show for the mainstream audience. Mainstream audiences who watch the tv program are usually not going to know who won and not going to watch the livestream. I bet most of the hardcore fans are like me and don't have time or interest to watch the tv show anymore because its old news. Mitch was phenomenal and once he got out in front no one would catch him. It was Thors first competition back, so he was bound to make mistakes, I’ve seen some say that his 4th place wasn’t a fair representation of how he performed, but it’s a 5 event tournament, so many people have lost out on Podiums by failing or making a mistake on the 5th event, Thor was no exception, he ran out of steam, he only needed to push the stone above his head and he would have finished 3rd, he will come back stronger. Tom deserved 3rd place he got `pB’s and we sometimes forget he is autistic, this was the first time he had competed away from home without his brother there, that was a huge achievement as any changes to a routine for someone who is autistic can be huge. Overall a good competition, questions have to be asked about the number of injuries so early on in the season. Why do 2 grip events? I didn’t find the dinny stones that enjoyable to watch, I think there were better events that could have been done + at this level we shouldn’t be seeing so many failures. The weight was too heavy in the 5th event after such gruelling events prior. However it’s going to take a lot to beat Mitch, I think if the events are right for him then Tom could but Mitch seems to be able to do everything. WSM will be extremely interesting this year👍🇬🇧
