Why did they only now start to give us amazing movie figures?!

@@aura1521 Probably. But even with the current engineering, Hasbro has their limits whereas 3rd party companies are giving Hasbro a run for their money especially with their own versions of Western Star truck Optimus Prime (AOE/TLK) and Lockdown. Both of which can transform into robot mode that looks very close to the robot cgi and without any vehicle parts visible. Amazing really.

FINALLY a leader class figure to this very deserving character I dont see what's the fuss about the transformation. Its involved, challenging and lets get real here: these toys arent aimed for kids.... so I'm happy that Blackout is a challenging figure.

i got mine today, and one side doesn't want to stay tabbed in for no reason. i wouldn't mind the transformation if it didn't feel like i had to warp plastic to get everything into place

For me I love it when transformation is difficult. It makes it that much more realistic or at least accurate to the movie. Also when both modes look that amazing it’s worth every second I take to transform it
ive just ordered this from the link in description, im so hyped for it, im probably gonna leave it in robot mode though
Blackout IS supposed to be “chicken legged” Just search an image of his cgi model. He looks too long and lanky when you don’t fully transform the legs.
@dankmemer2774
5 жыл бұрын
yea, and being a super cheapskate company like hasbro, they would not put in that extra joint there unless it is super important to the character. blackout and even his bigger counter part grindor are suppose to be chickin legged.

Oh alright, I understand. I was one of the few who really liked the longer intros, since we could get your expectations for the figure before opening it. I loved the background info we also usually got and the hype you'd bring if it was a figure you've long waited on.

optibotimus no its ok, long intros dont really bug me that much. Besides, the "lets get him out here and see how cool he actually is" bit makes me happy no joke
Of all of the reviews as of recently, I've been looking forward to this one the most. I personally believe Blackout is one of the very best Transformers figures we've gotten primarily due to it's accuracy in vehicle and robot mode. While the transformation may not be the most fun and can be frustrating sometimes, I do have to give a hand clap to it because it in itself is pretty accurate to the movie's transformation, especially when he appears outside the alleyway in the last battle of the movie.
@Optibotimus, I have to say how much I appreciate it that you transform your figures BOTH ways. While I didn’t need it this time having transformed it on my own a bunch and getting used to it already, in the past this feature has saved me a bunch. You’re right that to many reviewers take the easy way out so I and many others appreciate the extra work you doing showing both ways.

Well, that was interesting, the transformation may be super complicated, but the end result is pretty amazing, robot and copter modes! I'm left wondering if they will make a Masterpiece version of Blackout, cause it won't be less complicated I think! But man, he's one of the creepiest Decepticon I've ever seen! Cool review!

Blackout does indeed have chicken-legs, though their not as pronounced as, say, Starscream's.
@dankmemer2774

because in the movie, his skirt armor kind of covered up his legs so it is kind of hard to see which part is his legs. but yea, he has chickin legs.

If you played Transformers the game you get used to it
3 years later I find this video and it's the only one that helped me figure out why I couldn't get the tabs on the top of the copter to line up. Thanks!
Thank you! Got blackout couple weeks ago and I was frustrated trying to transform him back to helicopter mode until I watched your video and helped a lot. Everything is aligned and in place so thanks!
This video was excellent dude. I just bought my figure today and your video definitely helped me be able to get done with the transformation step by step. You did a terrific job man!
In order to get a more screen accurate aesthetic an intricate transformation is essential. This is by far my most favorite figure from this line.
I won't mind the complexity of the transformation. And people needs to lighten the heck up on JUST ONE PART that detaches and your opinion on said transformation.
I just got this figure. It is... amazing. Yeah the transformation is excessively complicated with a lot of little moving parts that you have to wiggle around, but that's no different from a lot of 3rd-party figures. Robot mode is damn near perfect, and if someone comes up with like a riot shield or something that can be placed to cover up the helicopter's bottom, the helicopter mode would be perfect too. Absolutely phenomenal figure. Buy him, love him, he's amazing.
Awesome review buddy. I love that you cover the transformation both ways.
Finally, i ve been waiting for this one
You get a thumbs up for transforming him back into helicopter mode from robot. I haven't transformed mine yet, so I appreciate you taking the time to give it that extra effort. Thankyou.
Even though the transformation is messy you transforming it back to helicoptermode realy helped me transforming it the first time. I love both modes.
This is honestly the most complicated transformation ever
Yay! The transformers that are actually challenging to transform are back instead of those dump 1 step transformers!

I always take your reviews very well. Thanks for the details!!
I really love this line of figures. Based on what I've seen in your reviews I'm really excited for a studio series soundwave.
Gotta admit, despite most of the previous Studio Series figures being a real letdown, this may be one I'd actually consider getting. Even with the transformation being a bit frustrating, it still looks likes a more accurate version than what we were given with the first movie. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us, man.
I thought that the transformation was fine, it was fun. There's just little details that need to fit together in the transformation. Great Video, Blackout was my first transformer from the films
I remember watching you 2010. Good times Took a while to find you again
Holy cow that is complicated. The directions blow. Thanks for the great video.
I agree with Rayne Kraven. So what if the transformation is complicated? Studio series is more for the collectors, fans ever since the first, 2007 movie. As long as robot mode and vehicle mode is screen accurate, then I’m ok with that. Besides, I miss the complicated, challenging, puzzle like transformations.
Blackout looks awesome it'd be cool if they repaint this as Grindor that way we got to Evil choppers

gotta say, when this figure was previewed, i was quite certain that i'd be getting him since he is what I wanted since '07. after taking a closer look at his hands, his plank sandals, and his size as a leader figure, i kind of put him a little lower on my priority list. then after a couple of months of seeing him in store and passing him up, i decided that i was going to get him. Just as I was about to commit, wei jiang released their version of SS08 blackout(i believe he is called Hide Shadow) with articulated hands, clearly defined toes and feet, larger size, better paint details, and tons of rachet joints in the place of friction joints on the hasbro version. safe to say, i aint getting the hasbro version anymore, im going wei jiang for this guy, costed me a bit more, but from what i've seen, it's pretty worth.
So far he looks like my favorite toy from the studio series. I've just begun collecting I have starscream and optimus prime from that line but this guy takes it to another level.
Just got mine in target yesterday.. love the figure and thanks for the review
Picked this up at my local target I love, it's transformation is fun and it is a good look figure in robot mode and helicopter mode.
Yes!!! I've been waiting for this one
Good job man. This blackout was a pain in the ass.
very nice review optibotimus
Hey Paul great review as usual, he does indeed have the stripe on his tail as seen when he lands at the base.
Great review Paul!!! Awesome figure...
still an awsome reviewer

your welcome thank you friend
3:44 I know I'm kinda late but I think that they should have made it to where you have a sort of button on top that when pressed release the propellers and when it's not pressed its keeps them in place so they can spin
When you're talking about the frustrations of the transformation, you're primarily referring to the arms right?
I watched a lot of your videos and now I'm collecting a lot of transformers
If you look into the side window panels in the front of Blackout’s torso, you can kinda see what looks like his metallic ribs.
In the movies black was substantially larger than the other decepticons so it makes sense that they have the toy be pretty large
Thank you for going both ways because I'm having a problem where the legs are extended at the back so the tabs don't line up with the slots
I’ll be lookin back on this video once I get this figure for myself!!! It does look very frustrating to transform this and I agree with you on that all the way, but like you said, the alt. and robot mode are amazing
I have the same problems with mine as I’m seeing in the vid the blades are loss on one side and when putting them in the robot mode way they bend and overlap eachother when I don’t think there supposed to and on the right side when you got to tab the arm In I always have that gap on the shoulder panel and it’s frustrating with the gap!
They should do Studio Series Sideswipe, Dino, Soundwave with miniature Ravage and Laserbeak figures, Ironhide, Barricade, and Quintessa

Damn, very accurate sizing AND detail.
Hey Optibotimus the butterfly joint in mine for his Shoulder is getting loose, any fix?
“Pave lows”, the helicopter he is, are pretty massive, so the scale in vehicle mode makes more sense than it seems
One of my fav studio series and movie character
the reiview we been waiting for!
I just got my blackout figure and I noticed that the main rotor on mine is tilted and when it spins it's in even so it rocks every time it spins. But the rotor on the heli in real life is tilted so that it can move without tilting forward to much, but min is screwed up which I'm not happy about
Man, I think that's a badass transformation. Sure it's finicky, but the complexity and difficulty is what appeals to me. Also that if it were not for the helicopter blades, it'd be really hard to tell what Blackout transforms into, and that ambiguity is also an appeal. I hope one day to be able to get my hands on one of these.
i cant believe you got this guy, good job
You did a great job of dowing that because I stugle wile dowing it.
Are you going to do the Mattel Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Toyline?
It's nice that youre freshening up the format a little, not the same intro as usual. Thumbs up! Also the figure looks sick
Looks really cool, wish they made his tranformation similar to cyberverse Blackout though.
been a long time since ive watched your videos i remember watching you since 2011 and i havent watch your vids in a long time but yeh reminding me of the old days
wait i just thought of something, if the helicopter Blackout turns into was destroyed, does that mean Blackout took down that same helicopter to get his alt mode?
Omg the intro song you made this video better and mr.optibotimous my last words for you is keep going on and make more videos I watched your video since 2007
I saw this figure in a store, but didn't pick it up. Couldn't find it anywhere else afterwards :(

Where are you finding Blachout at? It shows online that he’s not sold in any targets within a 100 miles of where I live. I live in SC. Will he be at Walmart or Toys R Us anytime?
That looks like a complex 'ROTF Optimus leader class' transformation 😁👍🏻
I’ll admit this is one of the few figures that is worth the price of 50 dollars. It’s incredible how they were able to incorporate the transformation just like the movie and how movie accurate it looks. I have high expectation for movie studio series devastator and the prototype they showed does not disappoint. Just hope it comes out as it was shown and make Scavenger aka red version of Demolishor big. Maybe twice th height of a leader class as shown in the movie since studio series goes for movie accuracy.
whoever designed this figure must be very good, respect
YES! This was the review j was waiting for!
The 'end screen' @ 41:13, the bottom row, second going to the right, what's that one? Anyone know?
I got him yesterday and he is awesome
It a step up from the 2007 V=voyager Blackout.
What part of the movie did that intro fri your video come out on
If I recall correctly, in the 2007 TF movie Blackout released Scorponok from somewhere on his back, so while I agree, it's not the perfect way to hide, or store accessories, it comes pretty screen accurate.
Nice details 👌🏻👍
Hey optibotimus! You just got a like and a sub to you man! I've subscribed to you a long time ago coz your Transformers reviews are really good! I got blackout yesterday and he's awesome in both modes, I hope I might get MPM Black and/or Weijang with improvements of him. Btw I live in the Philippines😊
The middle joint that holds the entire mid and tail section on my piece does not line up, i've spent close to a few hours on this tab before i gave up and put it back into robot mode, I think this might be the only transformer I can't model into machine mode.. it's ok though, he looks awesome as it is.
curious. the air force star on mine seems to be upside down compared to yours.
Hopefully this guy gets upscaled for mpm figures!
@imr.ender1972

Waffle Kinglocke upscale him to at least 3 or 4 inches bugger than MPM Prime would be good.
I feel like prime scales with blackout really good especially when you consider that grindor was about 17 feet taller then blackout
"Tabbing is NIGHTMARE" Wow
Optibotimus, you have got to be the best Transformers reviewer
Awesome Paul! Anther great review. Do you think they would release a grindor?
@greenbean325

Yes it's a improved version of the blackout mold more steps and better hands otherwise exactly the same the extra steps are on the arms and the end part is different
Is it bad I want a toy CH53C super stallion, so I’m getting this??? Not this model but the voyager class, it looks more hidden.
do you know, if these figures will be avaiable worldwide?
Just realized I'm gonna have to do the transformation to vehicle mode once I get him...
10:46 Now its all scratched up Paul......😂😂😂
Scale is on point with the figure considering that both Blackout and Starscream were both around 31-33 feet in the movie, and Optimus was 28 feet. Loving the scale on these figures!!
I remember when my parents bought me one when a little bit after Transformers came out (:
Thanks it wold have taken me hours to figure it out
