Congrats on your 1 year on YT. Adding chapters to the videos (not sure how to do it) will help the algorithm and will be appreciated by your viewers. That's rather interesting about the chain. I think you eluded to the riding around on salty roads (never good for a motorcycle) which may have played a big part in the chain failure. I had my OEM chain on to the 33,000 km (20,000 miles ish) mark so I don't think it's not that it's not quality. Not to say you can't buy better, because you can of course. I diligently cleaned and lubed it every 1000 km (600 ish miles) and adjusted it every 2000 miles or so. All that to say, like anything, they can last if maintained.

Thank you. Yea I rode the whole winter (or most of it till last month) it’s been super cold but didn’t really snow here. Got a few snows. The one snow I went out because it was going to be in the 50s the next day so I figured I would be ok with riding in the salt and washing off the next 2 days. Unfortunately It still messed it up. You are absolutely right about chain maintenance. I’m pretty good about it. Every 300 miles or so. But this salt was no joke. Definitely learned a lesson tho. I want one of those Honda xr100. Just something I can ride in the winter

I've been riding for the winter since mid January as well, and I'm doing a clean and lube next week once my supplies come in. I have noticed a small amount of surface rust, but have been pretty diligent about cleaning it off, so it's nothing that has pitted so not worth replacing the chain and sprockets over. Once I give it a nice clean and lube it should be good as new!

Yea you should definitely be good. Especially with consistency. I think it’s definitely normal. Especially if you ride in the rain and all that

1 year, nice going. What bike is there in the background? The snow/salt is awful and worth avoiding. On my very first bike of 3 back in 2003, I stretched the chain probably from wheelies, so installed a DID linked chain myself and that worked really well for tens of thousands of miles, no issues and no more wheelies since.
