Cool that you were in the darkness there of the Eclipse. A long ride there, nice going. The bats flying? That's really something they woke up that fast from their sleep cycle if so. Thanks for the video there, nice work capturing the moments.

Yea it was crazy. As soon as it hit all the animals went nuts. Birds got real loud as well as the bats. It was a lot. I may make another video about the trip back. I didn’t have it recorded but there is still a story behind it.

@@CityNinja650 That's cool. What happened on the trip back? I got a fun three hour ride today in the first really nice day of late Spring which has mostly been in the 50s, today above 70 degrees F. Really focused on better fuel economy, so I'm taking it easier on the acceleration and reducing faster speeds more often. It's making a big difference, though the MPG update on the TFT display helps a lot to let me know my riding fuel usage, along with the Eco Symbol appearing. Close to 200 mile range from 1 tank today. 55 to 65 mpg is ideal most times. Going downhill in 6th without throttle, it jumps up to 239 miles per gallon mpg.

Yea those definitely help with fuel efficiency. Also saves your chain too. I noticed when I was really aggressive on the throttle my chain would be loose all the time. I don’t do that and mellowed out a lot and it’s really saving it. As far as the trip goes. After the eclipse I really didn’t wanna get on the bike lol. I was riding for like 6 or 7 hrs by then and that break made it worse to get on. I left around 4 pm and the gps said 4 1/2 hrs to go. The first hr was hell. I was in a lot of pain but what made it bad was I almost ran out of gas. The station I went to right after the video ended had no gas. My light was blinking and it said 40 mi to empty. 30 seconds later 35 miles and so on. I randomly pulled off and looked for a station and lucky there was one on the random road I pulled off of. I was so happy I was going to tip the cashier lmao. The rest of the ride home wasn’t to to bad. It got a lot better when I got off the interstate. The final hurdle was getting into Pittsburgh. About 17 miles outside it on whatever interstate that was all I seen was 17 miles of taillights. I was going to split if it wasn’t moving. I was tired and wanted to go home. Traffic was moving at 25 30 mph so I didn’t. I was actually happy because I was so tired and couldn’t really work my controls fast so if something would have happened I would have been screwed lol.

@@CityNinja650 Cool, thanks for the details! That trip back sounded tough on the bike and with the fuel running out almost. Not a fun situation so close to empty. I was on the freeway and it was stalling one time. I was testing its limits, but a gas station was right at the bottom of the hill exit off the freeway. Total luck as it rolled in. The bike engine shuts off once it goes bone dry. I agree, going easier saves fuel big time. And the chain. I don't ever wheelie on this bike intentionally. Although it will jump off the front tire by a couple inches if getting a fast start. Thanks!

I live like 30 minutes from Sandusky, the back roads are nice for traveling and getting places, but it sucks having to go far away for nice scenic or curvy roads to ride on

Yea that definitely does. I used to hate my area but one thing it’s good for is motorcycles. I still like your area tho. It was a nice change of scenery. Also the roads I was on were absolutely perfect.
