Good tips. For some test practice, riding a safe distance behind a tractor trailer on the freeway will give some idea of riding in windy situations as the wind of the trailer batters the rider's helmet back and forth. I wait for the natural wind on the freeway to start pushing me left or right, and then just counter slightly as needed, holding the tank with my legs as usual. My last ride had good 20+ mph winds. Worst I ever rode in was on my first Ninja 250R, with 50 mph winds. That was a fun challenge on the freeways.

Loving your videos man, been watching for a little while now. A lot of people bully me for it, but Im a fairly experienced rider, been riding since I was 15 and I’m now 25, but I recently sold my 2020 Zx6r and bought a 2024 ninja 650. A downgrade a lot of people would say but the 650 has so much more usable torque. The bike is just so much more practical. And going 150 everywhere does get old. Haha

I respect the hell out of that. It maybe a lower cc bike but like you said it’s just more practical. I would love to ride a zx6r but honestly I would never own one as my only bike. Just because of the type of riding I do (touring). I heard someone say “it’s more fun to go fast on a slow bike then to go slow on a fast bike “ I’m sure the 600 is fun but like you said the 650 has that usable torque. And that’s not to say you can’t rip it up on a 650. I got pretty good and hitting 50 60 mph in some tight turns. And opening it up to 125 on the interstate. Honestly that’s fast enough for me lol. Really appreciate the support.

@@shotgunemdown5239 maybe lol. Trying my best that’s for sure. I need to make a new list of video ideas. Still got 3 or 4 made and others in the process but I need to do some brainstorming. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears

Hah I rode in wind so gnarly the other day, I could have sworn I was leaning right through a left hand curve.

That’s wild lol. Wind is nothing to play with. It can definitely cause some issues if your not prepared for it lol Where I used to live we got crazy wind storms where it would tip over while dumpsters. I wanna ride in that lol.

It definitely is but, it’s probably making you a better rider in general too. When you ride in better conditions you will be farther ahead.

@@CityNinja650pretty insane you were on 70 today, we went south on it today too and wind was crazy and its dangerous on a normal day. Do you have any tips for a riding on very "aggressive" road like that?

@@CityNinja650thanks for heads up on the blessing of the bikes, do you think its cool if a new rider goes to an event like that? Or is it too hectic?

@@jaredanderson7494 honestly I don’t know. Every year I hear them and I know there is a lot of bikes. I can assume it will be pretty hectic. I do t think I’m going. I’m still sick and should really just stay In to beat this sickness whatever it it. As a new rider going idk. All I know it there is ALOT of bikes. What makes me nervous is I know a lot of those guys probably are out for the first time so they maybe rusty. Definitely a personal call.

@@jaredanderson7494 I can always make a video about that. I made one about fears and highways but I don’t think it’s exactly what you’re looking for. As far as any tips the best is to first be confident in yourself on those roads. Make sure you’re not scared and you are able to comfortably move around traffic. *Definitely pay attention to exit ramps. Cars like to switch over really fast if they miss there exit and try to make it. *Definitely be aware that you are not in someone’s blind spot. Bikes are easy to miss especially if we ride in someone’s blind spot. *Just like how we set up escape routes when stopped, it’s a good idea to have an escape route while moving too. Always try to be I. The best lane position and try not to follow to close. *I learned this the hard way. When you’re on the highway or interstate and you see an on-ramp where traffic comes into the highway, make sure you are on the far left lain position. This will help you be seen better from the car coming on and also slow you to have a good escape if they don’t see you. Especially at night. Hope these help. Maybe one of these times we can ride. Ride safe

So we need something like "predictive windshear warning" like airliners have installed? Those systems operate on a windspeed and temperatur change in a certain amount of time. I am wondering if the Cell Phone IMU could calculate this... Change of windspeed and direction could be calculated by evaluating the angles and accelerations/decelerations. Many motorcycles are equipped with IMUs for traction control, ABS and other stuff. A windshear warning would be a matter of software development and mathematics.

I can see BMW doing that. Even a real nice gold wing. I should try to get something like that. I storm chase and did it on the bike (video to come). It would be cool to have all my equipment on the bike. And something like that would be really useful for finding the gust front as a storm moves in.
