You'd be surprised by how much the physics of One Piece actually make sense. The flying octopus? It can fly because it's basically a living blimp. The flying ship? It can only temporarily fly for an entire KM caused by an explosion made by pumping barrels of cola. One of my favorite science involved explanations of One Piece is how Luffy's Gears work. Since they've got a pretty good amount of real life science behind it and it's just cool in general

One of the most enticing things about the world of One Piece is the feeling of size and culture that Oda took time and crafted. There's that unique feeling you get when you travel to somewhere foreign to you. When visiting a different country where people have their own culture, traditions, architecture and even climate different than your own. You take those moments and just stare in awe at the unknown yet strangely exciting place you never thought was part of the same world you live in. One piece is able to encapsulate this very sensation on each island. Because the world of one piece is divided in hundreds of islands, each one is unique in its own way. Oda uses a lot of the real life places and people as models and crafts them into the world of one piece. You've got islands and kingdoms that are modeled after Egypt, Spain, Japan, Russia, China etc. Most anime/manga stories usually take place in the same cultural setting, usually its all set in one country. (how MHA story takes place in Japan all the time). So even if the characters go different places it may not seem like a big deal since its still set in the same location at a fundamental point. One would assume that with the sheer size of the story, it would grow stale and repetitive after a while, but it is through the diversity that Oda makes that each new island and the arc that takes place in it, feels quite frankly likes a real adventure, and just like how the Strawhats are exploring and feel at awe with the unexplored horizons, we as the readers feel the very same.

Guy in the crowd: THE LEGENDARY TREASURE!!! THE OOONNNEEE PIIIEEECCCE!!! Gold Roger: (begins chuckling before bursting out laughing) YOU WANT MY TREASURE?! Executioner: (preparing weapon) Just shut your mouth! Gold Roger: YOU CAN HAVE IT!!! I LEFT EVERYTHING I GATHERED IN ONE PLACE!!! NOW YOU JUST HAVE TO FIND IT!!! "The fact that this is only 8 minutes long, they are obviously missing something" I would rather say, the fact that it is possible to create an 8-minute long video only showing different places that exist in the world of one piece is crazy! Just imagine a world that is so fleshed out that it is possible to create a video like this. And it is all from one series, only focusing on the outward appearance of the different parts of this one imaginary world. All the different cultures, creatures, and the history we see in the small period of time we are shown a slight part of that fictional world. I think you are both over and underestimating how crazy big and flashed out this world is if you think "The Breathtaking World Of One Piece" is holding back... In comparison, take any other show. See if you can show off a world that is as fleshed out and diverse as the world of One Piece is. Edit: Most of your questions is answered in the Manga/Anime ;)

The amazing thing about Odas writing is that all the questions you have about this world have explanations. Often they are hints that are separated by hundreds of episodes, but when experiencing it you can feel that this is a thought out world, and we get to discover it's mysteries together with the Straw Hats. It is not my favorite anime, but it is by far my favorite story

Some of shots used in the video are actually from the One Piece movies, which aren't canon, although they build on canon material. The movies also have drastically better animation and production quality. Some of the floating islands that you saw are actually from the movie Strong World and they are floating because of a devil fruit power.

So, One piece has its own physics and nature laws, which are completely explained during the story. It is not an unexplainable magic thingy. Gol D Roger was never caught. He gave himself in. Shortly after he found the one piece and learned about the lost history, he learned that he can't change the world. Why? He said he was to early. Why? We don't know. Also, he had a desease which couldn't be healed, so he wouldn't have survived till the time comes. That's why he gave him Inself in. He done this to make the world pursue and find the one piece, as he revealed its existence. He started the pirate era, he was sure that someone will eventually find it and change the world in his stead, they will carry out his will. Yes, the one piece contains gold and wealth, its confirmed by oda himself. He also told us, that it is not only gold, but something else. It is an Objekt tough, so no "the friends you made is the one piece", that's nonsense.

I'll make it real easy for you, man. Any question you have about the world of One Piece, 9 times out of 10 the answer is yes. There is no limit to what Oda will do in this series. No low he won't stoop to, no high he can't climb to. Any random thing he stumbles across that he thinks is cool or interesting, or that he thinks he can make cool and/or interesting, it will eventually end up in this show. Literally the only thing I can't think that he's not tackled yet is computer-based stuff (internet, programing, hacking. Ect.) But I feel even that will end up in here somehow, given there is a unseen mad scientist character named Vegapunk who is apparently responsible for all of the high-tech stuff that shows up in One Piece, who's inventions keep getting crazier and crazier as we stumble upon them, and Oda has been hyping him up for over 15 years at this point. Tldr: however crazy you think one piece is, trust me, it's going to get crazier.

So, I can't fully explain, but the world does have it's own well detailed and grounded set of physics. There are fantastical elements to be sure, but a lot of the base physics are close to our own. But there are many factors and technology (which is actually explained in detail) that make the islands even MORE fantastic but still grounded. For example, they explain how a sky island can actually form and show off how other species of creatures have learned how to survive in such climates. To go back to sky islands, the fish above there have evolved to...essentially have the ability to store lighter than air gasses in their bodies (like helium) that allows them to not fall through due to their weight. Which is like what normal fish do with their own bladders to change how oceanic pressure affects them. Fantastical but still VERY grounded.

The hierarchy goes like this..: •There is the war long time ago and a group of allied nobility now named the World Nobles came out on top. They usually live separated from the commoner populace on top of the red line and basically do whatever they want. If anyone so much as touches them wrong, the Marine Admirals will be called to unleash hell. •Then there's the World Government that carries out the intentions/word/law of the World Nobles. •Then there's normal king and nobility from each of the major islands around the One Piece World. Their job is to manage their country but sometimes are called to help with policy making but ultimately they have no real political power when pitted against the World Government or World Nobles. •Then there's the Navy/Marines which is sort of the army / police of the world carrying out the orders of the World Government. There are more things like the Cipher Pol (world govt secret agents) or the Gorosei (world govt elders) but the above is the more basic hierarchy.. I hope this helps

What's funny with the physics of OP, obviously there's some broken physics considering devil fruits exist, but at the same time there's a lot of real life engineering and science that goes into the world's technology as well as how devil fruit users use their powers. It's a very interesting mix to say the least.

im sure others have said it but the best way to describe onepiece art, in both it's world and it's significant characters is to see it like old fantasy epics. stories where they describe cities as being as tall as mountains, mountains that cut the sky, great walls that reach miles upward and thousands of times more in either direction. think of all the over-exagerated depictions of people and locations in old stories. stuff where realisticly you know if the story was real at all it is GROSELY exaggerated. like a small example from history is the colossus of roads, wich was described as a monstrous bronze statue was so massive it's legs made an arch over a massive water-way into the city of rhodes. in reality if there was such a colossus he was most likely much smaller and stood only on one side of the passage think of stories where mountains pierce the sky literally, think of myths where the leader of a tribe was describe to be like that of a giant in stature One piece is artistically designed to be a world ENTIRELY built on a literal depiction of tthose kinds of exagerations like Blackbeard in one piece is so intimidatingly large his hand could wrap around a normal sized woman. yet he isnt a giant, he's exaggerated in size as part of the world's art style, to add to his intimidation factor in a very fanciful way. he's massive because in a story like this he would be described to be massive, to add to the exagerated flare.

the main distinguishing feature of the one piece world is that their planet has five satellites, you see five moons and this explains everything our moon has its own gravitational field that can affect our planet and the world has one piece of them five, which means there is more influence on the planet

There are kings/queens and ruling bodies in a lot of the islands and countries but not all of them are under the rule of the World Government/The Gorosei (The Five Elders). Some countries don't answer to the World Government like the Land of Wano and are closed to outsiders. Some countries are ruled by pirates. The Marines enforce the laws of the World Government and sometimes they are commanded to do horrible thing like wipe out whole populations, or kill people who know things that they shouldn't know.

to be more precise One Piece was found by the pirate king as h was able to sail to the final island that no one could in the last 800 years but he said it was not for him so he left everything that he found on the journey and One Piece itself on the final Island called Raftel"Laugh Tale" I suggest reacting to raftel.

Gold Roger was smiling because he lived his life to the fullest, he had nothing to regret, when your life is without regret, death cannot take away your happiness. besides his last words sparked The Great Pirate Era, the World Government hadnt won a thing by ending Roger's life.

Of course there is some suspension of disbelief, but most natural phenomena in the world of one piece are explained and some of them are actually just exaggerated versions of stuff we have in the real world, like that island where there is constand lighting storms (Catatumbo Lightning: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJebw9KgotTMZNo.html ), near the Ecuador, or that large vertical wave like a spike that happenes every few thousands of years (We found a way to recreate it artificially in stuff like a wave machine in a pool, but the actual phenomena is super, ultra rare). (Spike wave: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4t_qLKNl87WiNI.html ) Not gonna tell you the one piece counterparts, but I hope you will remember this comment once you get to that point in the story. Like Mark Twain said "Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please" Oda takes a huge bunch of inspiration from the real world, arquitecture, culture, art, geology, climatology, myths, important historical figures from around the world, science, etc. Im honestly impressed by how much he seems to reference and the idea of having him in front of me excites me and scares me at the same time. Like I just want to sit down and listen to him rambling for a while.

There is a one piece channel I recommend against viewing, Tekking101. don’t get me wrong he is without a doubt my favorite channel for one piece but it’s a vacuum. The second you touch a video your sucked into the next one and the next one. He is so incredibly absorbed and passionate about all things one piece that tekking101 has got the nickname “the one piece encyclopedia” cause he knows practically everything about the series… Also I would be thrilled if you checked out the Alucard rap “level zero” by Daddyphatsnaps. He has another Alucard rap as well that stars takahada101, the voice actor for Alucard in the abridge
