    12:28 Slight correction here, the large majority of the show takes place in the Grand Line, not one of the 4 Blues. The East Blue is just where most of the main cast originated from, and we learn about them and their hometown islands one by one. As of right now, we know little to nothing about the other 3 Blues (or most of the East Blue for that matter), but they’re not too important because the One Piece is located in the Grand Line.

    I just love how Oda explains a lot of details about this world. "why aren't pirates just sailing from the North and West Blue to get to the One Piece?": Oda gives us many reasons like how you need special compasses to cross the vast, chaotic seas that if you look away for a moment will just turn your ship around and there are giant masses of water where not only is there no current or wind, but enormous sea beasts that will swallow you like you were a tictac. and the fact he makes each new island just a sight to see and explains the islands to it's very structure like an island where Dinosaurs didn't go out or literally a Devil Fruit that creates food from rocks and the ground turning a normal island into a Literal Whole Cake Island is insane and i love every bit of it! seriously, the World Building of One Piece is the best part of it!

  • @crcoghill

    @crcoghill

    2 жыл бұрын

    i mean, the smallest detail i love is how the Grand Line is so chaotic is due to being sandwich by two seas that don't produce weather at all. so all the weather is bottled into the Grand Line and when you have islands that stay a certain climate all year long: You are gonna end up with crazy weather patterns. like one minute nice breezy sunny skies and the next a hurricane that could engulf a island if it wasn't in the middle of the sea. I love this world!

    i love how Oda gave us Sky Islands. the fact he could have just said "i made this. no more info" and i think people would just accept it, but then he goes into full detail about how it works with science and what not and it just kind of works. not to mention it gives us such a good idea of how people work on these islands like how they have these shells called Dials that can do all sorts of things like store light to make lamps, store fire to make stoves and even record voices and such. of course, in the same arc, we see how versatile they are in battle like how a once simple cutting tool turns into a bladed weapon or the one simple stove turns into a flamethrower. and that's not even to say how crazy powerful some of them are like the Impact and Reject Dials that store power and can be used to redirect the attack back on the opponent, the Impact Dial has a slight effect of injuring you if you are untrained but the Reject Dial is a much more boosted version but is a double edge sword since the user has to endure much more pain and the risk of losing limbs. I'm actually scared watching these videos will make you a fan and actually watch the show on your own time. XD but i think it would be fun none the less.

    Seeing your face light up with joy as the intricate world of One Piece was explained to you was a delight. That's the feeling when journeying through the story of One Piece. Getting to discover what the world has to offer. Always wondering what will be thrown at you next. And the funny thing is that that video is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the world of One Piece. The level of detail every location has packed into it is insane. Also, even though we don't yet know what the One Piece is, Oda has confirmed that it isn't "the friends you made along the way" or anything like that. He delivers in his setups and pay-offs. I have full faith in his plan for his story. He's had the ending in mind since the beginning. He's extended things and expanded on concepts he had in mind, but, make no mistake, One Piece has been planned out in the general sense since day 1. Making it to One Piece is next to impossible(at this point). To put it in perspective, most rookie pirates from the Blues who desire the One Piece can't make it long at all in the Grand Line. Like, a day or two and they die or barely escape back to safety and think about different career options. And that's just the start. The difficulties increase from other factors like crazy. Especially when you add on rival pirates ready to do anything to cut you down for their own goals. Also, East Blue is only the first, like, 60 episodes and is considered the "prologue" to One Piece. Most of the story is in the dangers of the Grand Line. There are distinct moments where you can feel the story take a turn into being so much more than it was. As for reaction videos before you can start the show, I'm still hoping for How to Watch/Read One Piece by SuperEyepatchWolf and Daniel Greene gets bullied by One Piece fans. With how excited you are by the show, I'm sooo eager for the day you can start it! It seems like you'll really fall for everything it has to offer~

It basically goes over their relationship (luffy and zoro’s) really well and it’s made by the same person. also the strawhats have been in the new world for years, the east blue saga was only around 54 episodes out of 1000+. of course after east blue they would have to go to the calm belt, grand line, etc. so don’t worry they’ve traveled pretty far. there’s a lot of other things the video didn’t explain but it’s good for basics.

    The thing i find the most confusing in the one piece world are the "log poses" Normal compasses don't work in the grandline. Each island gives off an magnetic field. As such you need a log pose, a special compass that grows "accustomed" to island's own field, eventually it then points to another island (this is only a theory on how they work as the show doesn't explain how it actually works) In the new world, it gets worse, the fields are so chaotic that times the log poses can confused, which is the closest. So upgraded log poses are made with 3 needles, each aiming at a different island. (How each needle tells the fields apart i have no idea, strengths i guess?)

I'd suggest checking out the other video of the Super Eyepatch Wolf if you are thinking about giving One Piece a try, it is a bit lenghty but is quite good, has couple of spoilers but nothing major, I got friends hooked via that video xD It's titled "Why You Should Watch/ Read One Piece"

    I mean, a big reason the grand line takes forever is that compasses don't work in the grand line. Rather, they use Log Poses, which point to the next island in a chain. When visiting a new island, it takes time for the Log Pose to reset and point to the next island. This process can take as long as a year, depending on the island. There are also multiple paths through the grand line: seven in the first half. The new world is even more chaotic, so they use sets of three log poses. This is part of why it takes so long, and also why getting to the last island is so significant... beyond that the last island requires you to have the writings on the four road poneglyphs and be able to read them, each of which was controlled by one of the four emperors. Also, again you prove your inability to process content in your baffling interpretation of "we know about east blue but not the other three" as "they've spent 25 years in east blue."

    Yes when there strong enough, some logia user can change the climat permanantly like on the island he talked about (Punk Hasard) where two of the gouvernement strongest fighters (2 admirals) had a clash to determine the next chief amiral, long story short, they both has logia DF (one is ice while the other is magma) so during the battle the island was split in two with one half being a infernal nightmare with ever-erupting volcanos while the other is a big Antartica-like icy wasteland.

    They didn’t even spend that up time in east blue. The east blue saga ends in the 50 to 60s of episodes. Then they enter the grand line in which the stay in for until the 500ths. And then they enter the new world in which they are in right now which is episodes 1000+. The east blue saga is by far the smallest part of one piece.

    They only spent the first 60 episodes in east blue. Since then they've basically just been in the grandline. The one piece is supposed to be in the Grandline, so there's no point for them to go to west, south, or north blue, or even to return to east blue. East blue is just simply where most of them lived before they met each other. Luffy recruited most of them in east blue and then went to the Grand line. But yeah, it's been the grand line for the past 900 episodes.

I fought it and they had 10 BUSINESS DAYS to respond and on the 10th day of course they dropped it and my 3rd strike was dropped. The next day May 1st I started uploading videos and then on May 1st my channel was deleted without warning for reasons completely unrelated to copyright that were very vague. All of the ad revenue I made in April I never received so hundreds of dollars and my channel with 20k subscribers and a thousand videos was deleted. I still never found out why and they never replied to my lawyer

    Personally for me I think just jumping straight into watching One Piece, instead of watching a bunch of videos on it, is more enjoyable because you get to uncover information about the world and characters bit by bit, as u progress through the story. I feel like watching videos like this could take away from the experience of finding out on the way. This is just my opinion though, you can watch it however or whenever you want.

    He didn't really talk much about the blues beyond a little bit of the East Blue. We know more about the East Blue than the others because it was the starting leg of the journey, which is why the video starts off with them. However the majority of video is about the Grand Line. He went a lot of details because we've learned the most about it, despite it in universe being a mysterious place, as the majority of the run time has been in the Grand Line. There are a lot of weird things going on, some of which is never explained. The East Blue was simply the starting point. The manga spend two years in it while were were introduced a handful of the main characters and Luffy collected the bare minimum of what he needed to even enter the Grand Line. He started with a small sailboat that was really only good for island hopping and no crew. I am actually baffled by the Calm Belts. I didn't think much of it when it was explained to me as a kid, but now I've grown up and gotten more into world building. I don't know how they exist. The Red Line is weird enough, but I don't understand how there could be such a large space that never has any wind or currents. Especially given that it is so thin compared to it's length. There is also the matter of water being forced into the Grand Line from the four blues, but no apparent way for it to get out, not without giving the Calm Belts some currents, even if they are only exists. They are basically a plot device meant to divide the world.

    Punk Hazard is an exception. Two Logia users fought there. Half of the island was completely burnt and half completely frozen. But such things hardly happen every day. We spent 25 years on one of the Blue? Bruh ... no. Counting anime, we entered the Grand Line after 4 months. In episode 61-62.

If this doesn't get you to watch it nothing will. And knowing that he gives you a movie suggestion to kind of let you dip your toe in the universe.
