there is a lot of things that cant be fully explained in a music vid, especially in one piece video. one frame can of a particular scenario would take time to break down, like whole cake island and why is it all dessert based, why is franky huge, is chopper really a deer or a tanuki etc etc. the show will tell you about the one piece but he knows nothing bout the void century and the meaning behind the will of D. and neither do we sadly lol

There is no writing team. One Piece started as, and mainly still is a manga, and manga, much like most comics, are only ever written by one person (maybe two, and then suggestions from editors). For One Piece, there is one author who is also its main illustrator, his name is Eiichiro Oda, and he only really has assistance in illustrating backgrounds, sound effects, and speech bubbles, and in terms of writing he may only occassionally take suggestions from his editors, but other than that Oda writes and illustrates all of One Piece by himself. He does all the designs, he draws every single character, he redraws all panels that are flashbacks to previous moments in the story simply because he thinks that the people buying his manga deserve "newly drawn content" and not simply a copy of stuff he has already drawn. For all intents and purposes, Eiichiro Oda is an absolute madman and a workaholic down to his core, there is probably not a single day in his life he doesnt spend working on One Piece in some way, shape or form.

Also One Piece is an incredibly big deal, in Japan you could probably not walk one street without finding some kind of One Piece merchandise. It also is the third most sold comic of all time. It has outsold Spiderman in lifetime sales, and it is close to topping Batman in lifetime sales, which would leave only Superman as the last hurdle to overcome.

@@johnnylight0 In lifetime sales or in weekly sales ? There is a bit of a difference with that with what i mean. If it is weekly sales then i knew that, it is outperforming almost every other comic in existence right now in weekly sales. The last time i checked the lifetime sales numbers it was at number 3, but if it has suprassed Batman now, then that is indeed impressive.

Also the anime didn’t do as well in the states due to dragon ball, naruto etc, getting better marketing and I guess animation / pacing for the anime, though it’s still very popular in eastern countries and worldwide in general.

@@theduckgoesmoo He does have assistants that help him out though. It's the same with most mangaka. However, how much the assistants do depends on the creator. In Oda's case I believe that he does all the character work and the assistants are there to mostly finish the backgrounds. Even with assistants it is still Oda doing the vast majority of the work though.

Some misinformation: what you watched was not Opening 24. That was an updated version of Opening 1 that was only used once to celebrate 1000 episodes of the anime. "Opening 25" is the actual 24th Opening and its called Paint, performed by the band "I don't like mondays"

@@SerratedSun5841 The "lists" that have it not as the 24th opening are just fan made. There's nothing official out there for what is and is not an opening. But to me, it was used as an opening and thus it is an opening. It doesn't matter if it was just one or fifty episodes. It's an opening an the new one is the 25th opening.

That last opening was a special version of opening 1 used for episode 1000 of the anime. Yes it's the same as opening 1, except the characters look the way they do now, and of course they changed the early villains for the endgame ones.

Lol while yes, Choppers full name is Tony Tony Chopper, literally not a single person in the show calls him Tony, just Chopper was fine for him lol

Btw.. The 24 opening is an special opening cause, they made that for the 1000th episode, so it was like an Big Thank you to everyone who been following the show from the beginning. They just remade the opening in the new art style with some updated visuals.

It's a really good video talking about why so many people watch/read once piece without spoiling anything, MUST WATCH if you are on the fence if you wanna react to the show.

If you notice in opening 17, each of the Straw Hats wears an outfit in a distinct color. That is supposed to be the signature colors that Oda gave them, and you'll see those colors show up a lot around the characters.

Although I do thonk were at the stage now where oda might want to consider bringing on a second writer and artist. Not because he’s sucking or anything far from it. I am very concerned for his health right now and just think lightening his load will help.

If you're curious, you could check out the first 4 official dub openings with Vic Micnogna singing a few of them, the German opening which I don't think anyone's reacted to, the 4kids rap which None Piece shamelessly used 😂 and their newest opening came out last week, since the 24th opening you reacted to was only used once for the 1000th episode. (Edit: Annnd some fun facts, Luffy is voiced by Krillin's VA in japanese, and One Piece is written and drawn by just one guy named Eiichiro Oda)

I'd also like to see him react to the Italian openings. At least from a melody standpoint, they're the closest to matching the Japanese openings.

There is only 1 author, Eiichiro Oda. He's been planning One Piece for most of his life, and he's come up with every single character design, landscape, plot line, and made sure everything is connected into a cohesive whole. The man is an absolute legend, and has created a Modern masterpiece.

Since the comments don't seem to be updated, the last opening is an updated version of the first one exclusive to episode 1000 only, and its to show the progress of the show throughout the years. There is now another Opening and it is listed as opening 24, it's called Paint by I Don't Like Mondays. As of the posting of this, it's the current latest opening, but I'm assuming at some point we should get one more opening before wrapping up the current Wano Kuni arc. Of course as most people have found out, there's going to be one more island before the actual final island. So the actual show itself will end relatively soon.

The reason you don’t see a lot of people wearing one piece merchandise is because it’s not become insanely widespread here in the west yet. I mean obviously it’s still huge, but compared to the size of the Japanese one piece community, we are nothing.

The 24th opening was a special remake of the very first opening for the 1000th Episode. It shows all the characters how they changed from back them to today. That makes it very nostalgic for us fans 😁

Openings 20 and 21 are top for me, but the first one, "We are", has a special place in my heart.

The asistants only help with the draw part of the manga, the editors are tho one that help with the ideas

So you saw the guy in that pink coat in Opening 17 and 18 right. He gives one of the best speeches in all of anime, which also is very true to how the world IRL works. He utters this speech “Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!” That is something i REALLY like about One Piece is that it deals with a lot of real world stuff. It's not just an anime about Pirates and a legendary treasure

Writing teams? Its one person, the creator of the manga Oda, he wrights the full story.

There is only one writer of One Piece and that is Oda-Sensei but fans tend to call him Goda for his godlike ability to keep track of every character and event in his story. I mean this guy can have minor people from hundreds of chapters ago suddenly reappear and everyone is left stunned at his magnificence. Oda never Forgets!

some spoilery stuff about Chopper. Tony is a devil fruit user, Born a normal Reindeer. The fruit he ate was the human human fruit. giving him human intelligence and letting him change his form between reindeer and a humanoid figure, in addition to the small form he prefers now. he aspires to be a doctor and the other forms he can take beyond the base 3 he started with are a result of his medical experimentation on himself.

Ok so how Chopper is able to transform is due to a Zoan devil fruit called the Human Human Fruit. It allows the user to.. well, turn into a human or hybrid human, making him a Reindeer Human. He can look like a normal Reindeer, he's hybrid which is the one he stays in the most since it helps in him being a doctor(as well as selling stuff) and he's full human which just makes him a buff, fluffy version of himself but losing the antlers. But~ Chopper is a bit different. You see: being a Doctor, Chopper has experimented on a drug he calls a "Rumble Ball" (or just Rumble for short) and with it, the drug kind of scrabbles and changes the forms so then he can change into 7 transformations. Some are more useful than others like Arm Point, which gives he's arms the muscles to break through boulders and Guard Point, where he grows out he's fur to make a ball around him cushioning attacks and blows. But the draw back is that it is still a drug and after taking 1, he has to wait a while to use them effectively. If he takes a second one to close to the first, he can't control the transformations and is shuffling to pick the right one he needs. But if he takes 3 in a certain time frame, the drugs cause him to turn into the hulking creature you see him transform in a lot of the openings, Monster Point. In it, he cannot tell friend or foe alike, rampaging and destroying everything in he's way and it burns through he's own energy at that, slowly killing him. Luckily the normal weaknesses to Devil Fruit users like falling into water usually turns him back, but he is incredibly exhausted, unable to do much for a good while. Luckily after 2 years of research, not only has he made some forms stronger, as well as new forms like Kung Fu Point, he doesn't even need the Ruble to transform and only needs 1 to go into a fully controllable Monster Point. The drawback unfortunately is that he can't move for a good few hours but it is a trump card ability anyway. There's more to say due to the manga, but i don't want to spoil anime onlys here.

There's only one writer for One Piece, and fun fact, from day one he's had the ending already written. Also the thing about OP and what makes it great IMO is that there are very few "bad guys", just opposing ideologies. There are characters that are evil, but even the worst of the worst, once you see their back story, it's so emotionally powerful that it makes you think, "fuck, no wonder he does shit like that, I probably would too."

The "Opening 24" that you watched was the special Opening using the first opening's song. The reason it looks like the first as well is to pay homage to the long series for making it to 1,000 episodes. I personally call that opening "Opening 1000" just for that special note. I am curious as to if others would agree with the idea of calling the Special opening "Opening 1000" just to have people who have not seen the series wonder if the series really does have 1000 openings

there is a single fight where sanji uses his hands, but that was in a kitchen while fighting food, so he thought it was appropriate

11:17 Dude, there's a reason One Piece is known as one of the Big Three, alongside Bleach and Naruto: They're so omnipresent that it kinda envelops EVERYTHING. There was a pic from a convention that I once saw where someone was complaining about how many One Punch Man cosplayers there was at the convention. Right up front were like two Genos, a Saitama, and I think a King, all posing, while in the background there were at least forty One Piece cosplayers, a good dozen or so Naruto cosplayers, and three Bleach cosplayers, and those numbers are all what I remember recognizing at the time. Attack on Titan cosplay stands out against the crowds of One Piece cosplays the same way a swimming pool stands out onboard a cruise ship.

If you're looking for more One Piece content to watch I suggest this. It is an AMV, so doesn't give a lot of context, but fits what you're doing. It is a fast paced recap (of arguably the best OP arc to date) which shows you more of the characters and their abilities (Luffy was separated from his crew at this point). There is a lot going on, but you've already experienced that with the openings. Watching this vid you get to see prominent characters die (which is one of your knocks on the openings) and after this is the 2-year time-skip. This will show you why Luffy has that massive scar and catch you up on why the characters appearances have significantly changed. Again...it's an AMV. But most of your OP reaction vids are about the openings, (since you've never read the manga nor watched the anime) this should give a decent vid summary on one of the best arcs of Oda's masterpiece. chopper is a reindeer who ate the human human fruit, the devil fruits that allow one to change aspects of themselves in this way are called zoan types and they have three forms: normal, animal and a halfway point between the two, however chopper found a way around that thanks so a special medicine he invented called the rumbleball that unlocks multiple different forms and if he eats enough of them he changes into a form called monster point and the first time we see this happen it wasnt pretty

Its because Attack on Titan came during a time where anime became more normalized and mainstream; before the 2010 it was "weird" to be into the whole anime scene beyond having seen a few like dbz, naruto or bleach. Also, One piece is more cartoony looking so most people dont go around with the merchandise in fear of being seen as childlike. Still, aot is a good anime but it suffers from the western mainstream boom of the 2010 anime.

One Piece is more than 1000 eps BUT it's definitely worth it!!! after the 1st ep you just wanna keep watching

opening 25 is listed as opening 24 on youtube...you see the opening 24 that u watched was a special opening just for episode 1000...i don't know when you reacted to the opening but by jan 10, the new opening was already up on youtube

so basically the 24th one is a remake of the first one piece opening ever, they recreated it for the 1000th episode and switched the visuals to the updated outfits and animation but kept the same scenes and the same song. Personally i would say its one of the most popular ones. It was pretty crazy when they did it, nobody was expecting it, out of nowwhere they remade the og opening for the 1000th episode special.

If you want a sense of how long One Piece has been going. The author behind My Hero Academia Kohei Horikoshi read One Piece as a child and even sent in fan art to Oda (the author of One Piece). Since then he's obviously gone on to grow up become a mangaka in his own right and My Hero has now been going now for around 6 years. Meanwhile the manga he read as a kid and was inspired by is still going strong. And Oda stated last year that there are around 5 years left with One Piece (though he's given estimates multiple times and consistently overshot them to the point where One Piece was originally supposed to go for around 5 years for it's entire run and is now nearing it's 25th anniversary).

The 24th OP is a remake of the 1st OP for episode 1000, and the episode itself was mostly a recap of each main characters journey

Op 24 is the 1000 episodes special and was only used once… it’s the same song as opening 1 but with updated animation and includes all the Straw Hats up to Jimbe, the old one only shows the very firsts members up to Usopp and Sanji.

Yo, the opening you missed wasn't 25, it was actually 24 the 24th one you've seen you could call it a fan treat but it wasn't the actual 24th, if you searched for 24 you'll probably see another opening. Dope reaction man looking forward for more one piece stuff.

The last opening you watched isn't the 24th opening, it's a special opening that only aired on the 1000th episode, the real 24th opening is out and on YT, opening 25 doesn't exist yet.

This show is an anime adaption of the manga, which is still going on but it’s supposed to be in the last five year stretch. So as long as Oda (the author) makes chapters, it’ll keep going. Idk if you should still watch the abridged version of the show or the official for some of the serious stuff

A couple points. * One Piece IS actually the most popular manga/anime series in the world and the second best selling comic series in existence, only losing out to Superman which it could actually surpass depending on how long the series continues. The reason you don't see it everywhere is it's just not one of those series that has been latched onto in the mainstream outside of Asia. DBZ, AOT, Naruto, Demon Slayer, and MHA all had explosive popularity around the world in the mainstream, where as One Piece never really got that mostly due to it never really getting properly translated outside of Japan until very recently. Combine that with it's long length and it's not something that's easy for a casual viewer to just pick up/get into or even discover in the first place. It's beyond a cultural phenomenon in Asia, and especially Japan though. * The 24th Opening in this video was actually an opening used only one time, specifically to celebrate the 1000th episode of the anime. It's a callback to the original opening which is why the visuals are similar and the song is the same. They even have it in it's original aspect ratio before it changes to widescreen at the beginning which is a great touch. They updated the animations to match with how it currently is and the characters included are more relevant to the current plot. It's basically just a big nostalgia trip for everyone that has made the entire journey through the anime to where it currently is. * The author of One Piece (who is just one guy) and his editors have said that the series will be ending at some point in the next few years. Most sources and estimates seem to suggest within the next five years or so. They've also given similar numbers in the past though that aren't consistent with how things are now though, so there's no real way to gauge it. That being said, the stuff currently happening in the manga and anime are VERY end game stuff for the story, so it cant be far off the mark.
