This gave me an idea for something even stranger: an AU where Gordon Ramsey gets Isekaid into the One Piece world. Then when he hears that people are starving in Wano he talks her into overthrowing Kaido and taking his road poneglyph so he can open restaurants there. And of course he would have conquerers haki

I think he should have had the Raki-Raki no mi (Luck-Luck Fruit) from Film Gold. It can literally manipulate causality. Jack already has Buggy levels of luck, imagine he can weaponize it. In the context of One Piece, Jack Sparrow is the epitome of a character who is free and does what he wants whenever he wants. He follows his gut without question and always seems to land on his feet no matter what predicament he finds himself in. Plus he's a great fighter. Considering how many times he is left sailing with a small boat, he is a mixture of Buggy and Mihauk. (Reminds me of P.T. Kuzan) On his own he is a tricky force to deal, despite not showing it, like an Admiral, but when he has any manpower of support yep Yonko material( the 9 brethen in the PotC series were a combination of Yonkos spread like Warlords)[ ik there were no cursars , but still their lucky charms or coins could be the equevelant of Red poneglyphs into unleashing Imu rather than the true history]

He could recruit a Super Sparrow. Those birds may come from the South Blue but with Jack’s luck, he’d encounter one and get it as his mount. Those things are extremely good flyers. And it prevents Jack from needing to eat a Devil Fruit.

Jack would find a/the luck luck fruit if there is one. He'd also have no issues with the Kraken in the OP universe lol

That was his motivation for trying to get Davy Jones' heart during the third movie. While in the second he intended to use it as a bargaining chip to settle his debt, in the third he has an entire internal struggle concerning being the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. He was going to stab the heart to replace Jones, but decided to give it up to save Will's life. After that he mostly gave up on that ambition, because every method of immortality that he managed to find was also one that would rob him or someone else of freedom. And of course, freedom is what Jack values most. He values freedom with such intensity that as a sailor for the East India Company, he freed the "human cargo" that he was unknowingly charged with transporting by Cutler Beckett, leaving the service and starting the bitter hatred between the two men. His conversation with Barbossa in Stranger Tides is emblematic of his character development, no longer desiring immortality.

19:23 as an aside, I think Johnny Depp would be ideal casting for Reighley. I think big name actors are sometimes a really good choice for characters who in-universe have massive reputations, their starpower does help sell that to the audience.

My favorite headcanon is jack sparrow has the power of curses. As in he has the power to curse beings with a power that has a side effect. Ex Jack sparrow is cursed with great luck but he is constantly feeling the effects of overheating and land legs The black pearl will be the fastest ship on the ocean but it’s cursed to be constantly wet and dirty Jack sparrow has a coin that grant anyone who holds it immortality, invincibility and the effect of feeling no pain, but the curse causes them to feel no pleasure in life He has a compass that never points north but to one’s desire. A map that speaks the truth but only in riddles Imagine fighting the crew is fighting against Krieg and he throws the *coin* to Gin, after the poison settles, Gin is confused why he’s still not affect by the poison or he uses the coin to hide as an undead amongst the zombies on thriller bark Imagine Nico robin stole the *compass* in hopes of finding more glyphs but every time she looks at it, it just spins. Finally when the crew goes against the world government, after Nico screams “ I want to live” the compass immediately points to the straw hats.

Jack would definitely have the Luck Luck Fruit and probably have Observation Haki. Also, Jack probably wouldn't even be gunning for the Title of Pirate King, like with how he didn't want to be immortal, he just wanted to be known as the guy who found the Fountain. Similarly, Jack would probably get to the One Piece before anyone else and just be like, "Mate, you may be the Pirate King, but I'll always be remembered as the Pirate who found the One Piece first" and then fall off the Cliff Sherlock Holmes style or something

I love the idea of Jack speed-running the quest for the One Piece because of his magic compass. It makes perfect sense, is entirely in character, and is just hilarious to boot 😂👌

Now we need a what if Davy Jones came to One Piece. He has an unsinkable ship, control of sea monsters, the ability to teleport, he’s immortal and no one knows where his heart is, and he’s also great at fighting.

Am I the only one who thinks Jack wouldn’t eat a devil fruit? If he learnt that it means he will never be able to be in the ocean/swim - I don’t think he would eat one. Thinking about how often Jack gets into shenanigans and bailing into the ocean to escape
