Was going to say the same, just ordered a pre owned Sspeedmaster, did give DelRay first shot, just didn't have want I want, went through a trusted AD which users on the Omega Group use and got a fair deal, Tim Morosso even reviewed it and gave it a thumbs up. I don't want a high end speedmaster, just something I like the looks and can afford. a 3515.30 on bracelet, and black face. With date and crystal. My Seamaster is new 300m (well pre owned and like a month old saved like $1400 over if I bought in new, again from an AD who originally sold and rebought the watch. Still has most of the 5 year warranty plus the sellers (a good company) 2 year warranty. I do love this new watch, but too steep for me.

Seriously I can’t understand all reviews about the new OMEGA 321 stainless steel !! I think OMEGA made the right decision to price it for the huge value this watch has. It’s a dream watch (it just only be a dream watch) it’s not a watch that anyone walk-in to the boutique and get.. guys, this watch is not for everyone and we need to accept that.. it’s a watch for who is really dying to get it. The same happened to Grand Seiko when everybody criticised the prices but then everybody appreciates it!! Look at the effort OMEGA did to reproduce the new 321, the finishing, guaranties, rarity, Senda gold plating and more .. these type of watches are not reproduced to be treated normal but top luxury.. with 14K USD I can get many different watches but not an original 321 Speedmaster that I can wear everyday.. we by not understanding the new strategies are estopping watch companies to release special watches.. just accept and wait for few months.. I prefer to pay couple of thousands more of Hublot price and get the NEW 321 Speedmaster, Although I don’t have the money right now 😆 imagine yourself wearing it everyday.. WOW. Daytona is a different story, people pay more than 14K to get it from grey market.. GMT Pepsi is also.. SO OMEGA BY PUTING THIS PRICE IS CAPPING THE GREY MARKET. At last, wait till you see the watch in person. I still remember how people criticised the new Seamaster Diver300m two years ago but now someone said it’s the submariner killer !! Guys wait to see it just wait 😃🌷🕺🏼

If you want a 321 fully made by gold so you are welling to pay at least $ 60,000, aren’t you? 😂 .. however, the real enjoyment is with watch case which touches your skin.. for that OMEGA released the platinum Speedmaster... my friend, gold plated movement will assure your two things 1) Hardness of the movement material 2) Great look of gold surface 3) this is a bonus, competitive price 😉 Enjoy it man 👏🏼

Pricing if way too high and grey pay less just hurt their own brand image

I looked this video up. And it seems you are wrong. The 321 is made by one watchmaker and the movement comes close to a Patek chrono movement. I recently tried to buy one at the AD for list price, but the watch has a waitinglist over one year.....

Just my point, what would reason that price for an old movement in an all steel case. No way, I am even thinking of buying this

When I first heard about the 321 I decided to buy one, then I found out they were £12000, nice watch but not at that price.

Very cool watch. Looking forward to how the market reacts and people views if these are produced in numbers. Keep up the good work.

Some of our oldest 747-400’s have analog standby instruments that have patina’ed beautifully over the years. Particularly the airspeed indicators; I love their patina! The trouble with Omega’s fauxtina is that they only do some the dial printing and indices in fauxtina meanwhile some of it is done in stark white. That’s where Omega screws it up. When developing a natural patina - everything will patina at the same rate and remain a uniform color while slowly transitioning from stark white to an almond color over the years. Omega’s fauxtina would be far more convincing if they would do ALL of the dial printing, indices, lume, and hands in the exact same fauxtina treatment. Aside from that, I find the shade of dial text printing, lume, date disks, etc. to be something that can really add to or subtract from a watch but few makers put much thought into this. For example, grab a pink gold watch that has dial printing and a date wheel disk that matches the gold color. Now inspect another pink gold watch that uses stark white dial printing. That little detail can really change the watch’s flavor. Dark blue watch dial? I think adding just a touch of blue coloring to the dial printing, date disk, and lume could really look nice. Makers need to be more interesting than to just use stark white silkscreen text printing, date disks, and lume all the time.

John P Watches I think so too. And what’s really neat about it is that it’s authentic! I get to see on a regular basis what two decades of sun baking will do to white. But only our oldest tails have analog back-up instruments. Our newer -400’s and all of our -8’s have electronic standby instruments. And so as such, unfortunately, my exposure to such patina’ed instruments will some day come to an end.

What does the 321 release do for the value of the standard 1861 speedy pros? I imagine it will pull the prices up but I might be wrong.

It will sell and without discount......I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up on a waiting list !

Hilarious .. "I don't see it at $14000" ... meanwhile 2+ years later, in the worse economy we've had in decades, the watch is selling for $22-$23K on the secondary market.. so much for your expert opinion... Well, as a guy who bought his first watch, and Omega 32 years ago, only to begin buying Rolex, Patek, and AP for the next 30+ years... I have returned to buying an Omega due to this watch... This watch stands out from the entire line (baring one or two others) as a true, hand assembled, and high quality work of art, that has historical relevance hardly paralleled even by the likes of Rolex. Keep up the god work kid...

This will be a huge hit. Given the limited production capabilities and huge demand, this will sell at full list and will most likely trade above retail (i.e. Daytona) for a few years until supply catches up with demand. Expensive by Omega standards but not compared to other classics.

The 321 Speedy is priced correctly as a “halo” product produced in limited quantities in an haute horological style as opposed to their more mass produced accessible products. Wait lists will be long, guaranteed. The 3861 speedy moon will become the entry level when it’s brought to market. People seem to forget the 9900 caliber was meant to compete with the Rolex 4130 that runs in the Daytona. Hence the Speedy Racing is the actual Rolex competitor product. Fortunately, Omega realized that this is not how they can distinguish themselves as a brand. The 321 is a product unique to Omega and has no competitor as far as I can see.

Good review. You didn't directly mention that, like the Ed White, there are no crown guards. I also believe that, from a marketing perspective, there is an effort to grab some of the surging "stainless sports watch" market that is driving up prices on stainless sports watches from Patek, AP, and VC.

It looks very very good- I think the price is alright (at least you can see the moment so you see what you pay for ) ... I just hope Omega don’t follow the same Rolex games (artificial shortage) cause I really love this watch - it’s perfect 👌🏻

Interesting.I have many regrets but watch wise very very very nearly pulled the trigger on a sea master quartz new back in the day.I for some reason didn't and still love them! Never gone second hand for a watch so obviously they dropped it in quartz! Cheers and omega are bloody cool!

By July 2019 Omega brought out the special alloy Platinum 321 Speedmaster with lunar meteorite subdials... Lunar meteorites are classified under Stone-Achondrite and it's amazing Omega didn't even specify which lunar meteorite was exactly used to make the subdial slices... Dar-Al-Gani or NWA-series (e.g. NWA 4483) ? Important info for an Euro 50K chronograph!

I think that this is the entrance of a change in Speedmaster movement's. They will discontinue 1861 and change to 3861 with a higher price. I think they go up to 8k for a standard Speedy.

Vokki P. I’m think something similar. I think the 50th anniversary marks the new version of the speedy pro that I think omega will do. Then I think they will do a full on speedy pro with the 321 at the higher 14k price. They still need to have a speedy that is the moon watch. Basically I think they should do one tier which is the 3861 and another that is 321.

Really like this watch.....and I very much want to add an Omega to my collection....but at this price point there are several other watches that are higher up on my shopping list.

Price is spot on....check the vintage Ed white’s - u get a new 321 that outperformes the daytona which nobody Can get at retail price. Also it’s made by one watchmaker only...that’s insane🤙🙌🙌🙌

Agree with John about the price. Also I would like to buy a Chronometer certified Speedmaster professional. Hope that they will start producing them without the gold bezel and funky dial for around 5k USD. But once again Omega do not think about making their Speedmaster range 'exclusive' with only two stainless steel options. They will make 20 and here they will loose the game to rolex. Great watchew but the marketing sucks.

The Boutique guy said they were expecting 100 of these at US boutiques this year. Omega wishes it could fabricate Rolex style hype. Remains to be seen how well it will work. The silver snoopy was hot and didn’t have anything special except for the cartoon stuff on the dial and less than 2000 copies (not so limited). Might be an overreach (the Ultralight is the big overreach).

The new Speedmaster 321 is probably on of their best watches to date - if only its price was in Norwegian kroner and not USD - The exchange rate is 9 to 1... It sucks to not be overpaid.

Like many others, love the watch, but not the price. Yet, recall that the ask is actually reasonable when you consider that the new 321 movement is hand finished, assembled and tuned by one watch maker. So $14K is justified especially when you compare this watch to other watch brands that fully hand finish the movements of their watches. Granted, those brands mostly produce their watches in precious metals, hand finish their cases and are themselves a high end luxury brand, but then their asking prices are many times higher then that of this new Speedy. Look, if you want this watch, have the cash and it's not going to put you in a financially bad place, get it. The rest of us will admire the watch from afar.

For 14K i would get a Speedmaster Professional MOTM, the new Seamaster white dial and a Aqua Terra and one other watch as well. That is how expensive it is

Absolutely the right thing for the brand to launch this and increase prices given the market, current speedmaster’s price is too low for the value it delivers.

I was excited for the release before it was announced. At $14K there are so many more choices. For most of the people, $14k is a lot of money. I think after the honeymoon period is over in 1-2 years, you sill see this watch in used and grey market at less then $9k. An yes the fair price of this should have been something like $7-8k. So basically Omega decided to charge double the fair market value

John, it's possible your price might be high. I've heard of a memo with an MSRP in the 11s. I haven't seen it myself, so time will tell. I predict this piece will follow the track of the Tudor 58 - much hyped, intial shortages, only to languish and be deeply discounted within 12-18 months. Ultimately this is a reactive model, not a trend setter.

Where do you find Omega FOIS for $2k ?? I will take two then!

I like the Faux patina I can't hate it, just like the new bond edition is amazing...the watch I'll add the hesolite and keep it with the ceramic on the bezel....just the price....I love my Speedy Pro and the price I paid new on an AD was excellent...this for 14k is too much... make it 8k like the Apollo 8 and it will sell...

I really don't understand all the complaints with the price of the 321 Speedmaster . The average luxury watch buyer will buy a watch on its aesthetics and wont be interested in the movement so a standard Speedmaster or FOIS will satisfy this consumer . This 321 is aimed at the true watch geek collector who wants a reproduction of the original 321 movement a much smaller demand and therefore a premium price .

I think Omega has to do this. It makes sense. I think the watch is gorgeous, particularly the case back. I do agree going above the Daytona MSRP is bold, although after the Rolex price increases it’s not that much more. I don’t see this being discounted at all for the first couple of years. On release and likely through 2020/2021 it’s only going to those with a purchase history. I’ve heard the list is full already at many ADs but there’s zero way to prove that. I have to think there’s definitely demand for the first ~5000 pieces. Not sure about it approaching Snoopy levels. I think this will spike and trend down, where the Snoopy has done nothing but climb.

I've already heard of plenty of people putting in their deposits. Hell, if I had the money I would definitely go for it. Saying you can pick up an original Ed White Speedmaster for around the same is a fair point, but with the new one you get the 5 year warranty from the manufacturer and the updated 321 movement. I think it's a great piece, the only thing I don't like about it is the faux patina, I wish it were a nice frosty white.

I think Omega is already high class and value (technically the same level or bit higher than Rolex and the same and sometimes higher in watch finishing ) just with real down to earth pricing , but thats why Omega is popular. Smoking the same weed that Rolex is smoking i think is a mistake. They could have raised prices while still undercutting Rolex would have been a better move .

All real Omega fans should encourage higher brand positioning which it truly deserve , enough is enough with the unfair positioning of other brands who has done nothing in their history except recoloured dials and bezels .

I'm a buyer at 10K. @ 14K.... nope.

I have to have one...it's called the 321 (assumingly) because that is the area code for Brevard county, and subsequently Cape Canaveral. Home of Nasa and Space X...Obviously we call it the count down county because a couple times a month everybody gathers together along the beach to watch a shuttle launch. Being a Brevard native and watch collector I have to have it. You want to hear some real INSANITY...there is NOT an Omega AD in the county where they sent the watch to space. No joke. You have to go to Orlando. I have a Rolex AD, a Tag AD, NO Omega AD...hint hint, you watch jewelers out there. You don't think rich tourists and snowbirds (we def. got em) would like to buy the moonwatch after a day of visiting Nasa, to commemorate a great Florida trip?

I mean, if Daytona cost 12,000K - the price omega is asking is justified

It's not faux patina...it's the same color that the original ED was delivered. Omega got it right.

I got my Speedy pro hesalite, brand new, box and papers, for $3399 delivered from a Chrono24 gray market dealer in 2018. After that, anything Omega looks expensive to me nowadays...$14K?!?! There are a lot of watches out there that I would get before I get what is basically "another" speedy...

They should have priced it higher.. Said no watch buyer ever. They will sell them. it's not like they are going to make tens of thousands of these if there is not demand. If you think the price is too high buy a FOIS. That doesn't mean that others need to feel the same way. Some want something different. Some will buy it BECAUSE the price is high. fans have been asking for the 321, Omega is giving what was asked for. they are selling a platinum version of the 321 for ~$50K+ so the steel "Ed White" is a bargain. :)

I love it. I think the price is justified. Each movement is assembled by a single watchmaker, and they surely can't produce these watches at scale if only one guy does the assembly. You also can buy a real vintage Ed White Speedmaster for around 15k. So go buy one of those and treat it like a vintage watch, or get a brand new one with Omega's present quality control. I predict in a couple of years it will push 20k like Snoopy Speedmasters.

This watch will be at a premium on the grey market. MARK MY WORDS.

Good review. Glad you're back in the studio instead of your opulent office. Looks like Fed left his shirt in the dryer too long, accruing to your benefit.

I can't usually afford the hype around Rolex so why would I as an Omega boy (best of all worlds value, brand, horology, quality and luxury) pay Daytona price for an Omega. As an investment that makes even less sense as Daytona would keep a better price over time value.

Hi John if input isn't welcome disregard my comment. I don't like the way the video began - the short clip of speech, your intro theme, and then the actual intro, it seems out of order. I would just do your normal intro, and then cut to your theme track. The short clip of audio isn't a good enough hook to justify the dissonance in what's otherwise a relaxed video

What's not to love--except the price. I do appreciate still learning about the high end watches. The Roger Mille watches run around the half million mark and they're fun to read about but I am lucky to afford the $40 for the watch annual that they appear in. Have you ever done anything on "value" watches for the rather typical individual? I don't mean the myriad vids out there that abound talking about the few hundred dollar watches or the ten best under $100. But there have to be some watch values out there like Formex, in my estimation which are quality pieces but at least within reach for the person who really can appreciate a fine watch but will never put something on their wrist over $2-3 thousand. My new Formex Essence chronometer with the Selita SW200-1 movement, carbon clasp, floating movement, beautifully finished with attention to detail of a much more expensive watch. (And I promise you I am in NO way affiliated with Formex.) It's just that it is the closet I will ever get to something "special" without having to deal drugs. That's a joke! :)

Saphhire crystal doesn't fit the whole heritage theme. Not a fan of the milky ring. Either offer a Hesalite version or at least change the curvature of the crystal. If Omega doesn't overproduce, discounts won't happen in the near future. Thankfully, this is not a limited edition.

If they also improve the water resistance to at least 100m I’m sold Otherwise.... are you kidding me...

Too many versions of the speedmaster past and present kill the interest of it for me. This is for speedmasters fan boys essentially if you are not it's just another speedy. Why pay that price for something that is not high horology and looks like just any other speedmaster? 20k for the same in white gold would have been clever. But 14k.... For that price you can buy a breguet or three vintage killer chronographs like a bovet a lemania a gallet or a mido multicenter.... True watch enthusiasts are left aside by the big brands.

Why would you? You could buy a vintage pre moon in all original condition for less than 14k!

Looks nice, but looks like every other one to me. I'm no omega connoisseur though.

Gorgeous piece but it seems they are just trying to hit checkboxes of much more in demand steel sports watches. There are much better pieces at this price point. You'd be crazy to buy one of these instead of a Bregeut XXI stainless at the same price. Plus, it's too small.

The issue with this watch is that nobody, like nobody, will know what it is. Just another Speedy Pro. Oh, but its a 321. The only person who will know that is the guy wearing it.

I love the watch but the price is insane. Hard pass from me. All I want is a Speedmaster professional Stainless steel, cermic bezel with a 3861. I'd pay 7500usd for that. This 321 however, would be a solid yes for me if it was 8000 too 9000 . If they were smart, they could have released this at 8500 and raised the price by 10% every year and in 6 years it would be at 15000 usd. To go from a watch which as John P say ,trades 3500 to 4500, then all of a sudden ask 14500 for it is insane.
