In this video for my Suffolk accent and dialect series I explain the term 'Hoofin grut' that us here in Suffolk use to explain when something is very big :)

I'm a Londoner. But I worked in Ipswich for several years. I recognise and enjoy the dialect. Please explain that wonderful phrase 'on the drag which I love using mainly because none of my family or friends know what the heck I'm talking about - Steve

Hiya Stephen, it is indeed a great phrase. I filmed some more videos this week and that was one of them :D So it should be up within the next couple of weeks. It's such a good one that I had to include it now that I'm doing phrases as well as words :)

It is funny isn't it, especially as we usually take it for granted how we speak :) Hope you like the other videos, thanks for watching :)

I did smile when I read that you had put "shut" as one of your favourites, isn't it a great one! There's so many to choose from. When I started this channel I realised just how many I love, use daily, and have taken for granted over the years :)

It's a word used instead of a swear word, far more polite and also suitable for youngsters to say, lol :)
