Old English Suffolk accent and dialect, East Anglia (48) "Back'us"

In this video for the Suffolk accent and dialect I'm talking about the way we here in Suffolk say the word "Back house". We've say it in a very short way, all one word, and it sounds like another word which means something else entirely. Here in Suffolk, East Anglia, we are known for shortening words, and this one is a classic example :)

    We have a similar-functioning part of the house around here: "downsella." ( = down in the cellar)
