That said, if you are going to keep raising pigs, I believe you would be well served to check into ways to feed/water your animals in larger quantities using more durable equipment. This is going to also come into play when you farrow that sow. Have to think there are people no longer using their equipment near you that would sell some of it for a reasonable price. Even if it were not the latest stuff, it would ease your task a great deal. Just something to consider and lots of good people around to help you think it through.

Hello Wes. It's looking good. I know by now that you have finished the brackets on the porch posts. Since the last ones had rotten because of the rainwater coming over the porch, could the post be put on a cement pad that is bolted to the porch and the posts bolted to the pads? All of this could be covered with trim that did not touch the porch, 1/2" or so, along each side and on top. Have good days!

Just an idle thought while watching you grind and mix the pig chow.... I realize that you have gotten your own personal methodology going to the point where it works well for you, but it occurs to me that to get a really good mix-up of the finished product, it might be nice to use a small project type of concrete mixer for just before it goes into the tractor bucket. As i mentioned, i realize that your small batch method works fine for you, but i can't help but think it might be easier with a mixer if you get going on a larger requirement.
@falllineridge

Yeah I think a concrete mixer would be great. If I can find one at a yard sale one day then maybe.

Nice video. When you were repairing the spigot on the pigs water bucket was that an electrical conduit nut that you showed and then you put on a regular hex head nut?
@TheCalWillden10 ай бұрын
Hey Wes, just a thought for you. Have you considered pouring just a few inches of cement into the bottom of the water barrels? This would help keep them steady. Maybe leave 1" - 2" between the top of the cement and the level of the nipples. You could use most anything that has some weght to it.
@falllineridge
10 ай бұрын
Have not thought of that, but it's a great idea. Maybe a couple of cap blocks. That would reduce the amount of water that technically gets wasted below the nipples.

Then comes back between @15:33 and @15:34 marks. Looks like you cut from one clip to another and maybe there's some setting in your editing software that got changed or maybe something was changed on the camera between recordings? 🤷♂ I may be misremembering but I think it happened on the last video as well. Hope that helps.

I’m of the thought that they don’t want to give the boys name out. Some person might try using it to draw the boy into being abused. Even if this would be unlikely. Why take the chance.
Love your videos, Im not far from ya. Im over in Upson!
As an idea to get the corn out of the bag without cutting the bag, maybe using a shop vac would suck out the corn, and you might have fewer buckets to lug off the trailer.
Your little guy cracks us up, what a cutie! The triangle rock. 🤣
Love yall. Little Wes is smart. Pigs are growing. Beautiful.❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You can empty it one shopvac full at a time. That could work. Might be fast too.
"LIKE" button has been torqued to the manufacturer's recommended specification. "CLICK". God forbid you should be running around all over Georgia there with a loose "LIKE" button !
Use a. Vacuum to get the corn out of the bag
Getting a few things done you want to do between things you have to do 😅
These pigs being really skittish will make it easy for you to remember their just meat and not get too close.

Shop-vac the corn out of the bag.

Yeah I think a concrete mixer would be great. If I can find one at a yard sale one day then maybe.
Nice video. When you were repairing the spigot on the pigs water bucket was that an electrical conduit nut that you showed and then you put on a regular hex head nut?
Hey Wes, just a thought for you. Have you considered pouring just a few inches of cement into the bottom of the water barrels? This would help keep them steady. Maybe leave 1" - 2" between the top of the cement and the level of the nipples. You could use most anything that has some weght to it.

Have not thought of that, but it's a great idea. Maybe a couple of cap blocks. That would reduce the amount of water that technically gets wasted below the nipples.
What is the name of your planner? I have one but yours is so much better. I would like to get one like this it looks heavy duty. Great channel!
Cut the stitching at the top of the bag to open it out. That way you have a useful sack.
Maybe you can use a shop vac to get the corn out without cutting the bag.
You should have ship lapped those boards on the side of the house like you did on the ceiling that way you won't have to use battens.
How many dogs do you have? I always though it was two. Sounds like the beep -beep Jeep needs some work done. I do love the board and batten look of your place, and others in rural settings. Suburbia, not so much.
Don't know if it would work, but try a vacuum to remove the corn, then transfer to 5 gal bucket
Maybe use a shop vac and suck up corn .
What about using a shop vac?
Clean out a shop vac and hose real well, and suck the corn out? Just a random idea I had.
shopvac that corn out
But we had a big barn built with Oldfield Cason. It was pretty solid might not have that weight capacity on your rafters.
@falllineridge

Yeah I don't think these rafters could handle that.
could you roll that bag of corn over with the tractor bucket? Other end should have full access and no "snout"
Use a shop vac to suck the corn out of the bag.
😃😃
I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about farming, raising pigs, etc., but maybe you could use a shop vac without the filter to vacuum the corn from that bag?
@8:57 You said you really don't know what the bees are after in the corn meal. My guess is sugar. Corn has a lot of sugar in it and when you grind it you must be releasing enough of the sugar to attract the bees. Could that be it?
How are you going to keep the squirrels out of that corn?
we call those noggins
1:52 🤣😂
Don't you think your food for Sue should be free, since you are doing all the labor and providing the water and clean-up? Great video.

I wasn't talking about feeding the pig, just who should pay for it.@@tonygrimes13
Looks like you subscribe to the old adage, measure twice, cut four times. Lol jk.
I'd love to hear the reason the bees like the cornmeal, if you ever learn it.

I googled "why do bees like cornmeal" and found a variety of sources with a variety of opinions as to why bees like cornmeal. Try it. It was fun reading.

Thanks! I thought "just google it dummy" as soon as I typed that- but I think it's nice to give feedback for stuff you wanna know from the man himself. I'll google it too, sounds cool. Thanks for the push! Cheers@@tinydancer7426
On your audio, it's not bad sounding, it's just that the left earphone (left channel?) drops out, on my earphones at least, between the @7:16 and @7:17 mark.

Thanks for the feedback, Roger! I'm trying to track down the problem.
We are wanting to purchase a grinder for our corn we feed our chickens. We wondered what kind yours is. I know you’ve said but I can’t find that video.

Hi Jennifer, here's the link to the grinder I use. This is an affiliate link. You can use VVPRO for a 5% discount. They are pricey, but this one has been fantastic so far. www.vevor.com/electric-grain-grinder-mill-c_10642/vevor-grain-grind-mill-grain-grinding-machine-3000w-food-processing-machinery-p_010747041416
