18:06 I think I know what happened there. The game hides the actual ladder by putting it in the skybox where the player can't see it. Because Mark just so happened to be standing on it at that moment, it just took him with it and banished him to the abyss.

I think you're right I think the player model getting messed up was a floating point integer error(?) Where in my understanding the position of the player is such a large number, so far off from what the game expects/is built to process that it loses precision and freaks out a bit

Or something like how in source engine you could 'prop fly' by spamming e (picking up) on something you're on top of. So Mark picked up the scaffolding while he's on it, the scaffolding goes up, he goes up, the scaffolding went up because he did... this exponentiated so he skyrocketed way out of bounds.

I binged every single episode of this series today, and I never knew how much peace it would being me and how enthralling it would be while I'm isolated in a hotel room with COVID. This is such a wonderful find. I've been watching for years but hadn't hit this series yet, and I just hope it keeps going.

As another person who binged the whole series in one day, I am also surprised with the value and peace I was able to find in it. It seems so odd to me because when I first started, I had the mindset that this was just a stupid video game, and I was questioning why I found so much value in it. But now, looking back, I think I might know why this seemed so fulfilling to me and why I found so much value in it. The whole point of this game is to accomplish tasks and finish jobs, more specifically it is about cleaning things. Which is somthing we often associate with being a boring task that needs to be complete. Because of this, I think we find the game so satisfying because we are able to complete lathe tasks we normally consider to be difficult "work" in a fun way. We have the feeling of completing things that we normally dread while having fun. I think this is also why Mark felt the impulse to play this game so often throughout his daily life. It is the same feeling of work you must complete yet in a fun way. Your brain wants to get it done because you feel far more efficient doing it than other difficult tasks. Which now that I think about it is a little concerning, as it is essentially able to hardwire our brain from wanting to do real work to thinking a video game is real work, though I guess that is really all entertainment is [that being giving dopamine and other reward chemicals to your brain due to the completion of tasks.] Maybe I'm looking into it to far, or maybe this is a simple subject that is just being explained through exhaustive and overly complex concepts, or maybe that is all life is at all... okay I'll be honest, I'm probly just being sappy!

I have a game to add to the list. Power Wash Simulator. Give us some more of that philosophical speak and power washer therapy soon

I really wish Mark continued this series, the developers added so much content since he stopped.

I really want Mark to go back to Death and Taxes. That game had tons of updates since he's last played it. It has a full story and character customization it's dope. Also Mark is in the game as one of the people you can choose if they live or die.

I can't believe Mark is promising to completely finish every single game on the comprehensive list that he has ever played, truly a champion of content. Thank you for the guarantee and the complete lack of laziness! Props!

@@rosstronaut Thank you. I thought Mark quit the game after he accidentally lobotomized one of his clients in the final video he put up. I wasn't expecting an Until Dawn-esque hard restart of the game, but I thought he'd eventually go back to it.

Mark is the reason I play Oxygen Not Included. The first vid I watched, I knew it was my kinda thing. And every time he goes on about why he loves it, and how he learns, even if he "sucks" at it, it warms my freaking heart and I feel like I really get to connect with the core of who Mark is as a person. Something so simple but pure. That excitement for the tedium of learning and improving, all at his own pace, experiencing such a child-like joy for it. And I feel that myself. Just reasons why I adore this man for who he is. He feels like a mess, but he's doing SO well. I'm proud of him. And it almost makes me a little more confident in myself for being how I am, doing things the way I do, even if most people don't understand. :')

Him talking about games he never finished made me remember he never got to finish Carrion.

I would love that mark finishes Mindscanners, it was getting really interesting.

I would love to see Mark finish SCP Containment Breach.

Subnautica: Below Zero has to be the most I’ve ever anticipated Mark playing a game. Something about his original Subnautica series felt very close and personal in a way no other playthrough has. The experience of seeing his first reactions as he explored, the interactions of him putting fans’ names on the lockers, and the simple discussions while he was farming will ensure it always holds a special place in my heart. If Below Zero can recapture even part of that experience it would be incredible.

I agree but Below Zero did not live up to what Subnautica was… Below Zero isn’t nearly as scary and is a lot brighter and a very guided open world. Not really ever any mystery but the ice worms do prove to be scary
