It's so refreshing to find this video again by chance after a few years have passed. I have recently gotten my eye back on that horizon again and this time with the steps to get there. Currently working on a hobby project I'm very passionate about that isn't exactly on the road to my grand plan, but hey, maybe my grand plan will change. All I know is that right now, in this moment, I'm loving the hell out of working 8 hours, coming home exhausted, the starting up unreal engine 5 with a tired smile on my face, and getting to work learning how to make my ideal game. It's hard, it's frustrating, but the interface is easy to learn, and I'm making lots of progress. Hearing him talk about pushing through adversity with that firey passion, I feel it, and have just been reminded of it. I had a rough week and was starting to lose my passion. I was aimlessly rewatching TV shows I've already enjoyed or doing something less interesting when I get home instead of working on my project. It's totally ok to take breaks, but the thing was I wasn't needing or wanting a break, I was just down and I didn't feel that firey passion, and it felt like a chore to open my project again and grind on it after working 8 hours. After watching this video again, that fire is reignited, and ideas are coming into my mind once again, thank you Mark. Thank you for reminding me of why I want what I want, and why I enjoy it too.
