mark obsessing over small details and changes and subsequently missing the entire missing showerhead i think perfectly captures how these games get under your skin. they have you focussing so much on each individual thing that could change, that obvious changes go right over your head - like with that one experiment where participants were asked to count how many times the ball/balloon/whatever it was was hit and in doing so completely missed the man in a gorilla suit

    1) Lifeguards do this! The American Red Cross trains lifeguards like myself to scan the area but not to stare. 2) "who wants to swim when the pool is super closed" is the reason that lifeguards at my workplace have to check doors that wouldn't normally be our responsibility. People propped open doors and used the entry point to sneak into the pool. So we have to check the doors now as part of our closing routine.

Some areas also have full time/almost full time pools, a friend of mine lived in an area where as long as you had a resident card you could scan it and get in at any hour you pleased as long as it wasn't a scheduled cleaning time. Other than cleaners and I think a snack bar open during the earlier morning hours no one worked there, so there were several signs saying you were legally responsible for yourself and your kids and likely a waiver or contract process when they first got the card (I was like 8-11 so I didn't exactly ask about it). When I visited her in the summer we'd go swimming at night to beat the heat lmao.

Public pool lifeguard experience for 15 years at my local outdoor pool that only had any real security in the pump house... with the alarms a camera and locks and such. The pool itself just had the fencing and the padlock on the gate. My favorite story will forever be coming in to work one early morning, and before we could prepare for our morning session of swim lessons, we had to swim to the bottom of the diving well to retrieve *several* of our pool chairs, a camping chair which was not ours, a parasol, which was not ours, a few articles of clothing... a top hat... and a jump rope... Don't know what they got up to that night. Don't *WANT* to know. 🤣

No person in my ENTIRE life has brought me such joy, and comfort. NO ONE. not my family, not my friends. no one. just you. seriously, im proud and thankful. im proud of you, and thankful for you. and only because of you ive opened up to some people. i have not been able to be normal after everything ive been through. ive watched you for YEARS now. im just so proud of how you've grown and became so successful, but i know you mostly care about how you inspired and saved peoples lives. (like me, you saved my life. im saying it seriously, i was SAVED. i wouldnt have been here) We all love you mark, im proud and thankful for such a pure human being to be on this earth. thank you, mark and i wish you the best!! all the love :) Edit: thank you sm for the support, it really means alot. its been like this for the past 8 years, but its perfectly okay. im surviving cause of mark. im thankful for you all 💪❤

oh my goodness this was an intense and heartfelt read. im very thankful that you did find his content when you did and let yourself hold on to it. if the videos arent too triggering you might want to watch some of his more sensitive-content videos and truly feel what he says at the end of them. i wasnt ever in such a bad place as youve described but it did alleviate pressure when he talks about people always being there. i know you emphasized having no one, and you probably do (in the sense that you crave and want) but there are ways to remedy that. whether its calling help lines for a simple conversation (while making the help line aware of why you are calling and why it is necessary) because those people chose that profession for a reason. and remember that if you do get a stank call receiver and theyre shitty, that is not your fault and it isnt a sign. people who wrong you are not your problem, and you arent responsible for what they do. you're only responsible for what you do, and how you carry yourself as you heal. sending you so much love right now, i hope youre doing better than you have in the past and can continue to live your life healing with peace and grace.

Hello and welcome to another edition of "Pointing Out Mark's Mistakes"! Not like... in life... just in-game. Here are his missed anomalies: -6:58 - Mark isn't watching the background, because if he was he probably would have noticed the building that appeared there. -8:45 - One of the towels has gone missing off of the stack on the left. He'll figure this one out in a later run. -10:56 - The only possible Intruder anomaly in the Dressing Room is a disembodied head in one of the cubbies. Since it's a pretty obvious anomaly (and the Game Over screen doesn't show the fourth one that killed you), Lixian must be correct that Mark didn't look at that camera during the five in-game minutes between 10:29-10:42 -25:00 - There was a smaller shower nozzle on the right which is now missing. And here are some anomalies that Mark didn't miss, but I wanted to point out some interesting facts about them: -17:49 - This is one of the rare achievement anomalies: The Stalker. He can show up on either this camera or the Poolside camera and awards an achievement if you find him. -29:12 - Another achievement anomaly! This is The Marionette. -29:54 - Admit it, how many of you were yelling about the building? For the record, this one showed up all the way back at 25:36.

I just wish they'd done better to clean up after so we wouldn't know they were ever there, and we wouldn't have to scramble to fix things up before the kiddos there for morning swim lessons could see something weird...
