@@sebastien_1237 Nah, it had amazing potential, but the main male leads got the Marvel treatment. The show was good for 2 episodes, then decended into the predicatble garbage Disney-Marvel have released since. I would watch a sequel tho.

I think this is a sign of Disney's increasing confidence in the film. Originally slated for January, that's when studios dump garbage. Then it was slated for July, which is when studios release their tentpole blockbuster films that will go on to make a billion dollars. Now it is slated for November, which is when studios release their Oscar Bait movies so the movie will still be fresh in the minds of the Academy. I have no doubt that "The Marvels", which does not sound like a 1980s family sitcom, will rake in the Oscars next year.

As a screenwriter I watch his videos as a tool to improve my writing, often being "stuck" in a scene and trying to come with a solution. This very moment I struggle with an opening scene to a WW2 script about R.A.F. pilots in Singapore. Without blowing too much warm air up his arse, he is brilliant at dissecting movies and pointing out their weaknesses.

Could one with no persona actually been personal attacked?

Just got back from Disneyland and made an interesting observation: In typical Disney fashion, crowds swarm to meet and take pictures with their favorite characters brought to life in the park. From Winnie the Pooh to Chewbacca, it was always a lengthy wait to meet a character in the park...save for three exceptions: Rey, Captain Marvel, and Fennec Shand. We saw all three of them wondering the park several different times, looking lost and uncomfortable because no one seemed to care that they were there. Both Captain Marvel and Fennec Shand literally interrupted our family conversation so they could get some attention from our kids, who couldn't care less... I have never seen a Disneyland cast member have to initiate contact with anyone in a park, as they are always swarmed with fans. Interpret this as you will.

Man, the fact this surely masterpiece of a film was delayed really gets me thankful that executives truly care about the content they produce and the people they make it for. It’s so good to see how much passion is in these projects, especially in the hands of such capable and very deserving people.

I am actually excited for this movie because it will be the first movie which will truly connect with the multiverse saga and give us the (dare I say) avengers vibe as Kevin fiege himself told us. It can't be worse than any phase 4 movie I guarantee you. Don't act like all the phases had good movies, I even forgot who the villain was in ironman 2 (you could delete iron man 2 and still know everything even iron man 3 was boring) and slept during the 1st captain america movie but people still liked them. Don't be biased just because of the characters you don't like.

Back in the 80's and 90's I used to collect the Avengers and Monica Rambeau was the Captain Marvel for that time. She led the Avengers for a while as well. I'm not sure what happened along the way to give us the current version that we see on screen today.

Upsetting because Marvel had their bad ass female lead all along, problem was she was always treated as an equal and treated everyone else the same way. There's no room for good solid women in the MCU, only fan baiting toxic feminists.

I went back and watched phase one of the MCU a few months ago. And the biggest thing that struck me was that they're all adults. They are all grown up humans who can deal with their own issues and keep a professional face. The same thing goes for when I tried watching a couple episodes of Picard and then went back to DS9.

I just finished the anime series “Vivy”. Extremely thought-provoking, engaging and just a blast to watch. It has clear influences from things like Terminator, WestWorld and Quantum Leap and starts a female protagonist who struggles with the emotional weight of the choices she has to make. It reveals the weakness of current Hollywood to write female characters. Highly recommend it for the Drinker’s viewing.

I burst into tears when she stood on Captain America's grave at the beginning of the film and said, "I am the Captain, now!" So inspiring... It only got better as she turned to the rest of the Marvels and announced, "It's Marvelin time!" But #1 of course, was the moment when Galadriel pushes Captain Marvel aside, takes her by the shoulders, looks deep into her eyes, and makes clear that she's the leader now, because even Captain Marvel has not seen, what she has seen! Definitely the moment of all time!!!

In all honesty, if you saw Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, you should not be surprised of what we were getting from Bree Larson as an actress. She was one of the few dull parts of an otherwise awesome and hilarious movie.

At least we got the 'personal attack' clip. Excellent addition to the drinker cinematic universe.

​@@patrick7142 Sociopathic women do make for outstanding actresses. Your comment may have some validity to it. On the other hand, Oscar awards haven't mattered in roughly 2 decades nearly. Leonardo DiCaprio should have won one for Titanic, didn't receive one for another 16 years after that film, and got it in a film where his work was less impressive than Titanic. This example alone, calls into question the very credibility of the rating method employed to award Oscars to actors and actresses.

@@patrick7142 The Oscars have been a joke for last 10 years now and one performance doesn't make you a wonderful actor. Liam Neason didn't get the Oscar for Schindler's List when he very clearly should have, but he's still one of the greatest actors in history regardless. Brie b¡tch face Lasron has done zilch since that performance and can't seem to pull her head out of her ass to even try. She fits right in with todays entertainment "like it or you're a terrible person" "the movie's great you just don't know it". If the person can't act and the movie/series whatever has to be analysed or watch more than once for you to like them then they crap.

That “Go away now” sounds like a good idea for the movie itself. 😁

@@noelordz7813 Because this is just an extension of Phase 4, where things are generated for week 1 profits and then immediately forgotten. The only real entertainment is the months of anticipation leading up to it. You can choose to spend that time thinking they have changed and it will be something worth watching, I choose to promote an end to their hate-watching profits

When Captain Marvel shouted "It's marveling time!" and marveled the generic alien armies from every other Marvel movie and the skybeam machine, I was awestruck.

All they had to do for Captain Marvel was hire a nice actress and make the movie a lovr letter to Top Gun. Imagine a volleyball scene, with overt 80s music, with occasional super powers, and flexing.

Maybe when Kevin Feige said, “she will be the new face of the MCU,” he was trying to give us a warning on which way the winds would be blowing in phase 4

Frankly, I wish that Phase 4 was as the same level of “quality” as Captain Marvel, because they wasted no time making things far worse

I absolutely love the MCU and the DCU. Without them, I wouldn't have great youtube videos to watch like this one. Thanks for the fodder DC and Marvel.

For people who enjoyed the previous films these new ones devalue the canon. You can pretend they don't exist but you know they do and they cheapen the previous heroes by being unnecessary additions that even go back and slap them with insults (like She-Hulk making fun of Captain America, Hulk and Daredevil).

I am actually excited for this movie because it will be the first movie which will truly connect with the multiverse saga and give us the (dare I say) avengers vibe as Kevin fiege himself told us. It can't be worse than any phase 4 movie I guarantee you. Don't act like all the phases had good movies, I even forgot who the villain was in ironman 2 (you could delete iron man 2 and still know everything even iron man 3 was boring) and slept during the 1st captain america movie but people still liked them. Don't be biased just because of the characters you don't like.

The best thing about all the billion dollar visuals you cut together was that I remembered I wanted to watch "Commando" again! Mwah haha!!!

The kitchen gun laugh really sums this whole thing up.

I like that little bit at the end there, Drinker. You tell Black Widow to go away, but there's an emotionless machine in her way preventing her escape.

No clue what happened but she went from someone who could at least turn up with a sharp glare while acting bitchy and having a pretty good singing voice to someone who seems permanently aloof/disconnected no matter where, who or when she is supposed to be. I mean Rey(palpatine)/Daisy has way more emotional range despite being in 3 movies that treated her like a walking force empowered mcguffin regardless of the situation. I think both may well have the capacity to act but Bree specifically is either way honing things in or had gone from bad to worse every time in terms of projects picked/involvement.

Captain Marvel 2 being retooled to The Marvels and having Larson share the spotlight? Essentially, that's Marvel openly admitting she can't carry a movie on her own.

At this point, it's not a question if anything Hollywood puts out will be any good. It's a question of, what character or franchise will Hollywood destroy next?

I can literally feel the rivulets of anticipation running down my inseam now. Either that or I've followed through. It's so difficult to tell those two apart.

Always a sign of faith when you have a new movie for your flagship character and you give it the most generic name in movie history. First time I read the title, I didn't know what to make of it.
