Long overdue, this storage shed has not only provided storage for tools and machines, but a perfect set-up for the solar array!

Great build I assume using mill lumber (which I love to use) building codes are not a concern. There is one code regarding wood stoves in garages and shops that states wood stoves must be raised 18” off floor to fire to prevent flammable gas and vapours from igniting this is one code I keep in mind as I store gas diesel and other liquids in my shop. Glad I found your site looking forward to seeing more and viewing posted videos.

😂 good one! This might be the last year for decent prices with the coyotes, but all other furbearer animals are low in my opinion. Having said that, I'll continue to do my part in management to keep the population sustainable. In recent weeks the solar has been working very well, hopefully the newest set up will be optimal and give me back a room here at the cabin to store more stuff! Haha

I am so excited for you! That is going to make such a huge difference. You are a craftsman, nice job. We built two 8×16' sheds on skids. I have one delivered up on the new homestead already. The other one is stuffed with the solar power system and parts for the well. I hope to haul it up the mountain soon. Waiting for the snow to go away. I have a question for you. How much frost heive do you have. One of my sheds will hold the solar power system and will have a conduit going under ground to the house. I am concerned that frost will lift the shed up and break the conduit. I just have the shed sitting on pier blocks. I have not figured out how to anchor the sheds. The house will have a footing. I have lived at 7000' and I am no stranger to snow but 10 below zero farenheit was as cold as it ever got. The new place gets down to 30 below zero farenheit. I just don't have the experience with frost pushing that far down. Do you expect your shed to move or lift from frost?

Hi there, thanks! I do experience very slight frost movement with all my structures here. I believe Teck cable may be resourceful for you, just ensure you have allowed for any movement. I used Teck cable to tie in this shed, and I also have it running to my main cabin and never had any issues. If you want additional security, you could possibly run the Teck cable inside of the conduit. We get up to 4 feet of frost in the ground here, my cabin was built in the early '90's and had no footings, just old repurposed railway ties for the cribbing and footing sitting at ground level. It moves a little bit throughout the Winter months but nothing too major. I'll be following along with you on your channel and all the best! 👍
