Building a Storage Shed ...... start to finish

In this video we'll be building a storage shed from the ground up using part of an old barn foundation. Hopefully you can pick up a lot of useful ideas of how to build a shed for yourself.

All these posts about contacting me for a prize.....they are scams! I'm doing my best to delete, block and remove them all, but they are NOT me. So far KZread hasn't taken care of this problem but it's not just this channel it seems to rampant.

I know it sounds silly that a KZread channel could change your life, but for me, this one did. Gave me the courage to journey into 3 acres, live out of a wall tent on the weekends and build a little cabin. (And yes, consequently we are very very fond of our wall tent and decided to keep it up) We have five young kids and we got it done. Finally getting that wood stove in. The memories my kids now have of cutting down trees and diggin outhouse holes and sitting by a firepit on their own land is precious. Dave, you (and your wife!) inspire me. I’ve always used your videos as a guide and as inspiration. What you and Brooke share matters- thank you

Probably the best Ryan's kzread.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
I was so excited when I saw you uploaded another building video. There is nothing that makes me feel more relaxed and forget about my problems than your videos. Your narration and outlook is just fantastic. Thanks again, Dave!

Bushradical is my favorite channel on KZread and Girl in the Woods is my wife's favourite channel on KZread. We love your guys' videos. They have been so inspirational and educational for us as I am learning how to build and we are building our little off-grid homestead up a mountain in the forest of the West Kootenays of British Columbia. Thank you so much Dave and Brooke for making these amazing and inspirational videos. As total newbies to building our off-grid homestead with no building experience, the process can be quite intimidating. These videos have served as a great lighthouse for us on our homestead building journey. God bless.

Your basic cabin video series inspired me to build a cabin in my backyard. I didn't do a few things like paint and some blocking and going back and doing it is quite a pain. I definitely learned my lesson. And just as you said in your other videos, everyone is going to make mistakes, don't let that stop you from trying something like this. There are some spots I screwed up but it's sturdy and we now have a cabin/workshop with a wood stove and camp in it on the weekends with the kids. Really enjoyable in the rain. Need to figure out a door for it though, interested to see what you put on this one.

Thanks Dave for sharing your building knowledge. The information about Red headed anchor bolts are exactly what I needed for our carport build. I love how easy you make these builds look.
I love this video. You were looking at building storage. I see a new tiny greenhouse in my future. I would just enclose the open area in some way, maybe with small windows. Then get some temperature activated arms to open and close. Line openings with screening material to help keep the bugs out. Put more poly panels on the roof and halfway up the walls. Might just add a little stove for cold winter nights. I am in southern Ohio, so less cold and snow. Not sure what to do with the floor since it would be subjected to water several months of the year. If I am real ambitious, I could add a small gutter on the back that drains into a couple of rainbarrels. Thank you for the inspiration!
I know you put out a video about it but I still wish you would upload more frequently! Even on things I've done before I still feel like I learned a new trick and it always inspires me to keep doing things the way that I want to do them with what I have.

Could also use Brooke's oscillating multitool to finish out those birds mouth cuts. They should just rename them 'The Wonder Tool'. They make doing plunge and precision cuts super easy. Great vid. Also, on the wood ladders...not to paint with a broad brush, but I hate to say it, it's an old guy thing. For whatever reason, old guys seem to refuse to get rid of those crappy old wood ladders. I work in homes doing service work. Most of the ladders I have are used for outside. So, if possible, I use the customers ladders so I'm not dragging dirt into their houses. Never fails. You ask a guy and if he's older they almost always trot out some rickety, wobbly, piece of garbage wood ladder that's older than I am (51). lol. Nevermind. Dirty outside ladder it is.
