2 Months of Building a LARGE LOG SHED From Start to Finish Alone | My Own Forest Farm - Ep.7
Good morning.
It's been 2 months since I started building my big log shed and exactly 5 months since I came to this site to build my own timber farm. When I was 20 years old, I decided and took the courage to start with this huge build by myself. There is still a long way to go to turn the vision into reality. The construction of this barn was the beginning of a great development of my farm. I have come a long way, working in every weather imaginable, seeing many amazing sunsets and incredible wildlife, and overcoming every obstacle along the way. I have documented most of my work and will continue to do so as it inspires me and I hope my videos inspire you.
After this episode, I plan to move on to two new projects for a couple of months, which are also very important.
Now our temperature has risen to +8 degrees Celsius, this is a good moment to start pouring concrete into the foundation, since positive temperatures are needed for concrete to harden. You can learn more about your plans in my new videos.

The project was well thought out. And a pleasure to watch.. I especially appreciated how you cut birdsmouths on both ends of your rafters helps straighten everything out and keep it from pulling apart in the elements over the years.. Very nicely done, sir

I really appreciate your project and ambition. Good for you to be doing such work for yourself at such an age. That being said, I really DONT like to see your half-lap joints unsupported by the posts! I'm not sure where you are and what kind of snow load you expect, but hopefully not a lot. IMO You should have much shorter laps, and have part of the shoulder of each beam resting on the post. (I'm talking about 10:20 min into the video). The weight from the roof is going to eventually split your beam at those laps. Hopefully the beams are stout enough and I'm wrong, but you've built in an unnecessary stress point. Not trying to be a jerk, I wish you all the best~
