    @@DarbsRUs Well... to be honest it weren't particularly fun matches. We had a Legion who downed us all within minutes, two huntresses where somehow both of them ended up pointlessly carrying the last survivor around for 20 minutes, holding them hostage, and a hook camping cannibal where only one of us escaped. But on the other hand it was my second evening with them in the game (they have started a month ago, I a couple of days ago) and despite all the failure, me getting downed the instant a killer spotted me and me dumbly bleeding out to Legion because I didn't caught that I could stop the bleeding myself, I still managed to survive marginally longer than usual, unhook and heal a couple of folks and even repair some generators, though probably only by abusing an addon that allows me to skip the skill checks with a tool kit. So I didn't felt quite as suffocatingly useless as during the evening before (where I instantly died to a Saw contraption from the Pig everyone started with because interacting with one puzzle box didn't do anything and I decided to ignore it thinking one free down can't be that bad... and then getting Memento Mori'd by a Sadoko that popped up behind me while I was working on a generator). Though I did surprisingly well outrunning one of the other guys playing Michael Myers in a custom match, abusing the wonky car hitboxes that I had seen people exploit when I was playing the killer. So yeah, in the end I still have no clue about how to play Survivor.

  • @DarbsRUs

    @DarbsRUs

    @@dschehutinefer5627 Oh, you're brand new then. You'll get the hang of it. Just keep at it and see what works. If you go into solo matches and die, try watching the other survivors. You can learn a lot that way. There's also some pretty decent guides online if you get really frustrated. You'll learn your own style though and then the game will feel much better. Admittedly, the game is pretty killer sided at the moment, but that provides good learning opportunities.

  • @dschehutinefer5627

    @dschehutinefer5627

    Жыл бұрын

    @@DarbsRUs Mmh, Killer sided only when I am not playing the Killer I suppose. I did play a lot of Killer matches on my own (since Solo as a survivor was just far too frustrating and it always felt like I was just letting everyone down, so playing Killer came far easier to me since nobody had to rely on me knowing what I do and loosing meant at least the others had their fun). Against fellow newbies playing killer is easy, I even managed to win one game, but most of the time Survivors are just Prestige 20 guys 360ing around in the open with me completely unable to hit them no matter how much I try to anticipate where their hitbox should be. I did watch some guide videos about looping and stuff in advance because of my initial nervousness (I never played with other people before and avoided PvP like the plague because I never saw the point of getting slaughtered by some teabagging Russian guy with 9000h in a game, but when they asked me to join, I thought to myself I have to try something out beyond my comfort zone) and while it did help out quite a lot about learning what I SHOULD be doing, actually doing it is a different thing altogether. My current problems are: Turning the camera around in chases to watch the killer without running head first into a wall, reaching a pallet loop without the killer immediately catching up to me before I even can start the loop, not missing every single damn generator skill check, actually finding generators and as Killer how to hit those damn 360s everywhere.

    The problem is that the maps are all artificial pocket dimensions created by the Entity where the Survivors are trapped in. There simply is nothing out there if they tried to escape that way.

    The "only four generators left" and being "so close" is just so true in solo queue when you only have two people left. But I bet there's a gen ninety-nined somewhere in some forgotten corner of the map the Killer has given up on but neither of them will ever find because Kate didn't tell anyone which one she was working on before getting camped while another gen is slowly ticking down from seventy plus that Dwight just got chased off of. I'd like to see a follow up to this one called "Obvious ways to cheat in Dead By Daylight" where a Meg or Feng or "Jeryl" (half James Sunderland cosmetic half base Cheryl cosmetic) shows up and mentions going over the wall to escape and both Ace and Dwight comment on how it's impossible to do and the cheater just starts flying and finishing gens instantly and other such things and everyone else shuns them afterwards. Thanks for the video!
