The sad question is: who is Tuesday? Seems she never was allowed room to be herself. Like her mother said: if she could, she'd basically erase the last remains of Tuesday's room (which is already pretty empty to begin with). For Tuesday, by now, "filling up" her life has got to be so scary. Her mother on a rational level somewhat sees that her daughter is severly missing out. Would her mother be able accept if Tuesday was fully herself? I hope they - but especially Tuesday - came to find a more peaceful state of mind 🌻

I have legitimate OCD (hand washing until they bleed)- I am also immunocompromised because I have autoimmune diseases- and had to come to the realization that by preventing my body from being exposed to germs- I was setting myself up for disaster. Being overly clean would make me even more immunocompromised. So now I rationalize my germaphobia down to my bathroom, shoes, and food prep. All other germs are keeping me healthy.

So proud of you! Glad you shared that! Hopeful you give many people hope! Sounds like you really took control of your mind! I struggled with different types of "OCD" from needing everything in a specific spot, to clean a special way, patterns & numbers, makeup done perfectly, ect... I worked so hard on training myself that it doesn't have to be that way, I still struggle with numbers with digital volume... BUT I noticed that it "flares" up when I FeeL like I am trapped or FeeL like I am being controlled or have no control in a situation...

@@Mor2gain_760 I have those types of compulsions too! You are right, it does flare up. It’s a constant struggle of self-regulation of our thoughts, and it’s a weird disciplining action that we must discipline ourselves not to do. It takes time and practice to keep it in check- but people can learn to live with this if we understand it; especially that we are not alone. I wish you wellness 💜

@@CableGirl35 If people took the time ⏲️ with themselves to seek out why & what is going on in their minds & life, little by little control becomes easier for sure... Most people don't know themselves... I think when I tried to just rationalize the fears away, that didn't work long term, it was realize I was put all my power, focus & control into one area... BUT some things are also my art 🎨 side of wanting pretty! So I have to determine why I'm doing it and then if I should allow myself to do it! I also grew up in a messy home... I was the only clean one who managed all my belongings & deep cleaned... My family has only gotten worse over time... So in many ways, I would rather struggle with this than to be swallowed up by my belongings! To have a well balanced life, my family had no inner voice of accountability, nor well thought out routines for themselves... So they always just slip deeper & deeper into it...

The only word I think adequate for all involved, is 'heroic'. Every single person pushed beyond their personal comfort zone to contribute to the ultimate achievement: a clean, sanitary, attractive and livable home! What a brilliant, coming together of such disparate folk, to make life so much better than it was! For myself, I had to admit I needed outside help cleaning on a regular basis, and stopped beating myself up for not living up to my own standards. Some of us are not programmed or capable of maintaining acceptable standards without help from others, and the sooner we seek assistance, the happier we all are. The "obsessives" are to be commended for using their condition for the betterment of those in need of their help - often, at great effort in overcoming personal revulsion and working in conditions horrendous to us all. Certainly, a win-win situation. Congrats to all of them.

Yuck! I see this in the Deli Dept. of grocery stores also one young man was mopping the floor with a string mop; next, was over to the counter asking me if he could help me... I said: "yes, but you have to take your dirty gloves off, wash your hands and put on new gloves!" Cross-contamination must be rampant in these places.

All the chemicals that many of the OCD people use aren’t very good for their health. I know a few OCD people personally who ended up with lung cancer and other types of cancer due to their overuse of toxic chemicals. OCD is considered a mental illness. I can certainly see how the mother daughter duo have really severe OCD. How was the mom able to get close enough to her daughter’s father in order to become pregnant with her since she can’t cuddle and kiss her daughter? Also too much cleanliness isn’t good for the immune system either just like dirty homes can also make you sick.

I don’t think I could have personally put up with the two women. I get they have a condition, but to constantly harp on someone for “dirt” would just hit my buttons. They did need to learn to be more respectful. It’s not all about them. They’re practically insulting her and her home. Just keep your thoughts to yourself. Point blank period. I do believe she did get her OCD from her mother though with added fear of germs probably from her mom telling her all germs are bad and should be eliminated. She did a terrible thing for her daughter

I have OCD, also (moderate level, I think), and understand the discomfort and stress one can feel. It is unpleasant, and torturous. I feel compelled to add here that I find it upsetting and offensive to hear people saying God's and Jesus' name in vain. I realize people may disagree with me on this, which can't be helped. The 10 Commandments makes clear not to say God's name in vain, and that includes Jesus since He is God incarnate- God in the flesh. I am a follower of Christ so to hear people talk carelessly about God and Jesus in conversation really is hard for me, and as I said offensive. Although I certainly disagree with how people from this video spoke about God and Jesus, I really do hope they get help and healing from the OCD they struggle with. I believe only God, Jesus, and His Holy Spirit can heal our souls- spirits and minds- and bring us spiritual wholeness. Thank You, Jesus.
