Lyrics:
Sittin' on my own
Chewin' on a bone
A thousand million miles from home
When something hit me
Somewhere right between the eyes
Sleepin' on a plane
You know you can't complain
You took your last chance once again
I landed stranded
Hardly even knew your name
I want to talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are
You and me see how we are
All your dreams are made
Of strawberry lemonade
And you make sure I eat today
You take me walking
To where you played when you were young
I'll never say that
I won't ever make you cry
And this I'll say I don't know why
I know I'm leavin'
But I'll be back another day
I want to talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
(You saved my life)
I want to talk tonight
(I want to talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I want to talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I want to talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I want to talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I want to talk tonight)
(I want to talk tonight)
(I want to talk tonight)
(I want to talk tonight)

I think that’s his gift as a songwriter. He’s able to tap into emotions in music that can’t be said in his normal life. There’s a lot of vulnerability in this song and yet it’s said with words that won’t get you beaten up “I want to talk to night” because he can’t say “I need you”

I sang "stand by me" to my daughter when she was about 18 months old and she just froze and stared so intensely at me, and near the end of the song, she started getting teary as though the song was hitting her in the feels. It was one of the most magical experiences of my life. She's 11 now and listens to oasis. She finds the lyrics to "I am the walrus" hilarious 😂.
This song first made sense to me when I met the girl of my dreams. We met at a very tough and confusing time for me, so much in my life was changing. She used to come visit me and we’d sit up till the early morning talking about traveling the world and leaving everything behind to start anew. She was an American studying abroad at my university in Stirling at the time, and that was all. We fell for each other, had an incredible time whilst it was on our side. She moved back home, and I’m proud to say that to this day I fly over to see her once a month in America. I’d never travelled before I met her. She did change my life, and we’re happier than I could’ve ever imagined. I listen to this song sometimes to remind me how far we’ve come, and how far away we are. There are some people in your life that you’re meant to meet. And if you let them, they’ll change you for good. This song reminds me of working that out for the first time. Peace and love x

*Translation of this song* - He & Liam were touring the States with Oasis when Liam *used his last chance once again* in throwing a tambourine at Noel I think. The *"chewing on a bone"* was him thinking about his future with his brother & the band. *Something hit me right between the eyes* - He realised the *Oasis* project was finished. *Sleeping on a plane* - He just jumped on a plane down to Miami. The rest of it is about how he met a bird down there & she took care of him.

If you ever make that journey, just know that the pain you feel everyday, will be split between the people that love you when your gone. Sounds fair hey? Until you realise that people don't have the capacity to hold the pain that you do, and you Will so easily break the people you love the most, without realising that you're going to do it. Please don't, talk to one of them let them know how you feel. They would rather cry with you than over you. Believe me please.

This band was so much more than just the songs, they had everything. They sound unbelievable but every song I listen to of there’s I can relate to and feel connected. Hearing Liam growl the lyrics of Live Forever and Supersonic to hearing Noel sing about a Masterplan. I don’t know what the fuck it means but at the same time I think ye this what is I want to listen to for the rest of my life because I know exactly what they mean. The best band of all time, no questions

Same here! Possibly thinking about a major change in my life maybe leaving the UK (& cold & rain) & going to live in South America. He wrote this song after they both mistakenly took meth as coke on a Japan tour and couldn't perform at all.
@base330films9
6 жыл бұрын
Erm...he wrote it in America, right after a woman he met on tour, Melissa Lim, talked him out of quitting the band after an argument with Liam in which he was really quite hurt internally. He was kinda losing it at that point, and she kept him from going over the edge. It's nothing to do with meth/coke, John. So please don't try to say drugs led to a very meaningful song, which really represents a major point in Noel's life.
Noel's voice is very good :)
This song is a masterpiece and a true story about Noel when once he left the band , left drunken to see a girl he hardly knew
as a curiosity, this song contains a reference to Nirvana, when Noel says "sleeping on a plane, you know you can't complain" is reference to "On a plain" by Nirvana, "I'm on a plane, I can't complain"

Visiting after watching "supersonic". I was a young teenager at the height of Oasis. Seen the widespread social effect they had. They were fairly innocent times. Kind of polarising against the dance/rave scene that was also massive and that I began to be involved with. But also always had an Oasis album to listen too. Going to the record store and buying definitely maybe and it felt as if you were part of it. The song writing/ melody ability only comes around once in a generation. Glad I grew up understanding it.
im from the US and been a fan of oasis since i was a freshman in highschool(found about oasis from a cover of wonder wall by pewdiepie)… today i turned 24 and i was playing FORTNITE , out of all the games this song was on the cars radio in fortnite ! i was happy to say the least that this song was included somewhere :)
I miss the days that accompanied this song.

I play this song everytime when I play the acoustic guitar.
I swear The Masterplan is their 3rd best album- it's up there. This song is beautifully painful to listen to Noel at his most raw and emotional. If you know the story of it- Noel temporarily quit the group after a drug-addled disaster of a ahow in LA, flew up to San Fran to find respite in a woman he had just met a few nights before. She took him in and showed him that it was gonna be worth it, that he should keep going. They disappeared from each others' lives, but don't we all have "that one" person who picked us up at our lowest and helped us fly again, before vanishing in the night?

I don’t care what he says about not remembering her, it’s bollocks he remembers everything from her eyes to the curve of her cheek ❤️
I remember being at me mates one night around 2004, he lived in a hostel and his room was massive. There was about 20 of us in there, we was getting on it and this came on. Everyone was singing it at the top of their voices, and everyone knew the words. I've always been a massive Oasis fan but it was at that moment I realised how generational Oasis are. I was 10 when definitely maybe came out and everyone I know that's my age or thereabouts absolutely love Oasis. Even their B sides were sublime. The Beatles of the nineties.
I will talk tonight 😀🙈
Perfect way to finish your day❤
Just imagine if Liam & Noel were humble guys. Just think how much more mega they'd be. Probably still be a band.
Buying original records in Eastern Europe in the 90s was pretty much impossible. First of all, original records were only available in certain shops and second, you couldn't even afford it. So eastern europe was a pirate records paradise 😂 I remember that it was in April when I got my hands on the fake copy of The Masterplan. The harsh winter was going away and the sun was warming up the earth. I was wearing my new denim jacket as I wandered into the shop and I saw it. I had only heard outtakes of certain songs on MTV. I was so excited. I ran home and I put it on. Oh it was heaven! Talk Tonight was immediately my favourite, along with The Masterplan and Going Nowhere. I played it for days...on and on, before school, after school. Heavenly, magical music. Beautiful times, beautiful life. Pure happiness, innocence and enjoyment. I'm still trying to rekindle those feelings from those distant times 😢. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't... but the music is always with me and gives me hope for better days! I'm thankful that I was alive when the best band in the world was in their prime
Finally ...The day every Oasis fan was waiting for.

This song saved my life so many times. I found this song in the attic of a flat i moved into in 1999 on a cassette....instantly connected with this and Half the world away. Then became best friends with the girl who left them in the attic before me. I have only just realised that they were left to save my life....literally. Shes the first to read a book i have written about my life so her opinion is going to be monumental but after all these years and psychic stuff i have had its just dawned on me, that she was meant to leave me those tapes in the attic so i could begin to heal.we have been connected for years, before we even met.

God take me back to my teens the 90’s was a riot best days of my life ♥️
I've recently been starting to go off the deep end Oasis wise, and I found this song last week while watching the supersonic documentary and finding out my ex was cheating. The other night I met this girl named Nevaeh and we stayed up till sunrise talking and shooting the shit about anything and everything. Thanks to her the meaning of this song has changed for me. I'd get really bummed listening to this song, but since Saturday everytime I listen to this it makes me think of that night and how much of a sweetheart she is. Songs like this have kept me together recently. More than any therapy I've ever done.
So much 90's nostalgia with this song.
My heart, my soul
The most relatable lyric ever produced by oasis, "just take me watch off"
My fav Oasis song by a mile. The deeper meaning behind the song is what makes it so good.
1:42 This part makes me go back to many good moments already lived as if they were flashbacks for seconds... 🇧🇷
Oasis reforming would be massive however it could ruin their legacy as we all know they won't be as good as they were in their peak. Some things are best left to appreciate how good they were

Little touch of aesthetic...inspired to inspire
She saved my life, but she doesn't even know that. We don't talk anymore until the sun rise, like we used to. And when we meet we're just "somebody we used to know". we're not friends anymore, she studies abroad in a far country, but still after so many years I do think of her and I do thank her for saving my life. I tried to tell her all but she doesn't even want to listen to me. I hope she'll come around. Just daydreaming of me singing "talk tonight" looking into her cute eyes...maybe she'll come around...I said maybe...

Melissa Lim, wherever you may be at this very moment, I would like to thank you for helping Noel find his happiness and saving this amazing band.
It's one of Noel's best songs. It comes from the heart. The sincerity is not in doubt.
“All you dreams are made of strawberry lemonade” what a line
The Masterplan is such an underrated album it breaks my heart.

He hook a piece of his soul and sealed it in this song to live forever
This song is the song that got me into singing and helped me overcome the insecurities I had about my singing voice.
Always wished the "you and me, see how we are" bit 1:30, lasted longer 😍😍😭😭

Right! Best line in the song...powerful..:)
Noel wrote so many amazing tunes, it's hard to really fathom just how talented this man is. What a killer tune.
I read while in the States Noel met this girl one night who took him around to all her old haunts......and he wrote a song about that night.....which is stunning...
