Nothing Makes Sense Anymore | Lyrics
I used to know where the bottom was
Somewhere far under the ocean waves
Up on a ledge I was looking down
It was far enough to keep me safe
But the ground was cracked open
Threw me in the ocean
Cast me out away at sea
And the waves are still breaking
Now that I awaken
No one’s left to answer me
My inside’s out / my left is right
My upside’s down / my black is white
I hold my breath / and close my eyes
And wait for dawn but there’s no light
Nothing makes sense anymore anymore
Nothing makes sense anymore anymore
I used to sleep without waking up
In a dream I made from painted walls
I was a moment away from done
When the black spilled out across it all
And my eyes were made sober
World was turned over
Washing out the lines I’d seen
And my heart is still breaking
Now that I awaken
No one’s left to answer me
I’m a call without an answer
I’m a shadow in the dark
Trying to put it back together
As I watch it fall apart

I struggle with anxiety and depression on a daily basis. I spent my most of my teens, my 20s and now most of my 30s listening to Linkin Park and Mike. Their music has gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life. It's part of what's kept me around. I know Mike may never see this but on the off chance he does, thank you for giving me a light with your music when I've been in deep darkness.

Same here I practically grew up on linkin park fort minor and any project these individuals touched. They are literally ingrained in my DNA. Chester may not gone and helped me with my life up until now, but now Mike is here to help us all heal and get us through the rest of our days. Thank you so much fir both of you alls contribution. Without you both I wouldn't be here today. Your differences are what helped me find my true self because we are all mixes looking for harmony and balance.

He said that the album has a progression from where he was at the beginning, and that journey ends up in another place. 3 EP songs and this one are the first ones on the record. Then is crossing a line (number 8) where he asks if its alright to move on, and he does. Of course he is still struggling, but I think he has found an escape through music / art and we should be happy and not worried for him. Enjoy it man! Looks like he is starting to as well.

To all who believe that lie, which says, Masons have no power: That dear soul is a clear lie, they still busy doing whatever they are doing (biblically deceiving mankind) and still they have the same if not even more power. The masons haven+t gone nowhere, their club just in the late 20th century and early 21st century, exploded, meaning went bigger by many souls who became the sell outs. That`s the only reason we have TV s in our homes and the entertainments, through music , movies, sports. If, as you seem to believe, masons power has gone down the drain, then our so loved TVs won´t show of any kind of picture. It then will be just a pointless box. There be then no daily news. And there WON´T be then any kind of money in use. Yep, that`s the picture i will get if the masons power have truly gone down the train. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Without the masons nor the death club of freemasonry, there be not a single soul who`s sell out nor will there be any reason nor a chance to become one. SOULS, SEARCH: BIBLE + FREEMASONRY. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And remember souls: This world was never what we thought it was, nor it will never be what we wish it be.

Suicide is not selfish. It is not "taking the easy way out" and it is not cowardly. Depression is an illness. You do not call people selfish when their illness kills them. You do not blame someone with a disease for succumbing to their disease. Each person suffers differently. It is not always easy to "just get help" and like any other diseases and illnesses, sometimes the treatments don't work. Depression is real, it is debilitating, it is painful. It's hard to explain how you could feel connected to a person that you don't even know, however his music and passion in life was always something I relate to since i was a child. Rest in peace my childhood legend. R.I.P, CHESTER. ADIÓS CHESTER BENNINGTON 1976-2017 | LINKIN PARK 2018... ❤️👽🎤🎸🎹🎼

Then not many years later they blew up and it has been my favorite band since! Amazing talent and a very sad loss. He lives on through Mike and all of our love for what they have done and Mike still does.

I never thought it was fair they gave them a Grammy for the encore ep instead of METEORA the actual album. It feels like it was just JAY throwing them a bone when they don’t need him at all. (At least creatively) the music and movie industry is just all around corrupt. Fuck em. Who needs a shitty little statue when you have fans with endless love and support.

Shinoda is badass, its such a huge loss when Chester passed. Imo he could continue on with linkin park with him as lead vocals, and just other featured artists for new music . I can't wait for more music from shinoda . WAY UNDERRATED.

  • @Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid

    @Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid

Well, they've started writing together again, so there probably will be more Linkin Park music. But I honestly can't see a way for them to continue without getting someone to replace Chester... leaving aside new music what will they do during shows? They can't do most of their songs with Mike singing... as good as he is, he can't hit many of Chester's notes- not to mention many of their songs have 2 vocal parts, so no one can sing them alone. They will have to get someone, even if it's just someone to be on stage with them and not create the music with them.

  • @epsilonecho1436

@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Not gonna sound patronizing but Mike is better at singing higher notes. He does all harmonies including the chorus and bridge and outro of Catalyst. I wasn't aware of it until I heard multi tracks. Plus we all know No Roads Left where he just killed it. And then he also sings in higher note in rebellion, talking to myself and Lookin for an answer and castle of glass (2 and half keys higher in fact). So it's not gonna be a problem. What the real problem is people saying he can't scream or growl like Chester which he can... But he won't. He said it will be dishonoring to Chester's speciality plus.... I don't know but are we supposed to define a good musician based on his screaming and growling?

  • @Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid

    @Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid

    2 жыл бұрын

@@epsilonecho1436 1. There's a huge difference between doing high harmonies and actually singing high notes. His voice is a lot lower than Chester's, and that's a fact- he won't ever be able to hit those notes when he's doing lead vocals (the ones you mentioned where he does high notes in lead vocals, like No Roads Left, are high for him, but not even close to Chester's). And even if he did want to learn how to scream, that takes a long time to learn. The guy is in his 40's, do you really think he'll start learning a whole new way of singing NOW? Not to mention, if he has to learn to do that before the band can perform again, then we'll have to wait years. And lastly, I agree with you that what makes a good artist is not just their ability to scream- but that is a huge part of LP's catalog. If no one in the band can perform it, then they can't play half of their songs live, including some of their biggest hits. I'm not saying that Mike's not a good singer, because he is- but he's not Chester. He doesn't pretend like he's Chester, and we shouldn't either.

  • @epsilonecho1436

@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Of course, it will be a deal to do it live but I am confident that LP can continue with Mike as lead singer. He is a genius when it comes to making music and they have moved away from their nu-metal genre a long time ago. Most of their HT and Meteora songs are overplayed and there are still many in the albums waiting for their debuts. We can only hope, as fans from heart, that they will construct the brilliance they used to.

I feel your pain. I lost a beloved partner in my life in 1999. I am here 2021 and still my heart is broken. I look forward and also am able to laugh again...and than in the middle out if nowhere it gets me totally. I walk by the chocolate milk he loved so much and suddenly everything is alive again. Our time we had, our laughters and his loss. It gets better with the time and new things take place where the pain took everything. The world seems without meaning from time to time ...and than it is like I feel him beside me. He wants me to be happy. I have been in love for Linkin Park music since years. What especially got me falling in love is because I found myself in so many songs. It gave me strenght. I wished I could give you strenght in return now. Its so hard to watch this song, just as I watched the other videos. Your eyes look so tired. I wished I could find words for you all. I wish you the best. From the bottom of my heart

Chester IS singing with Mike. It's not just you. It's not an illusion of the mind. I can feel Chesters presence in the song.. As if I was sitting in the studio as the song was being recorded. Not only does Mike's main vocal track sound like Chester., But there is definitely someone in the background vocals. @Mike_Shinoda you guys really did save a generation. And saving a generation means you saved the world. We (your listeners) always knew inside that we had a divine purpose in this world, but the coldness of the world and the isolation we felt caused us that one step closer to the edge, and we would have broke. It was the music poured from LP's souls; it was the feelings translated into perfect words, right up to that edge... And into the next track. We learned whether consciously or subconsciously, to keep moving forward... To the next track... The next day.... The next light.

Mike shinoda. This goes to you. Don't fall in that dark path Chester did, please don't. We need you to keep Chesters and your legacy alive. Cause when I have kids I want them to know how much of an influence y'all are to my kids. Kick through the depression and seek help. I love ya guys. Stay strong Mike for real. Your music is medicine for us fans that battle through shit each and everyday.

mike K I don't think he's depressed, I just think he's sad that his friend is dead and made this song. If anything, he's the opposite of depressed, killing himself would be the last thing he'd think of doing, because of how Chester's passing made all the fans feel and he sees that, so he wouldn't do the same thing.

if you are in a real depression mostly you can't think about others. it's nothing about being selfish, but you are in a deep depression and just think about to take your life. nothing else makes sense in this moment for you. i'm afraid that mike ends up in the same way like chester... don't do this mike, pleeeaaase! who cares if someone lights go out? well i do. please mike if so, that you are depressive because of your loss seek help. it's no shame.

This is the 1st song of Mikes that I could instantly feel Chester’s voice! Mike is doing such an amazing job with his loss/grief/healing! I’m touched and honored that he is sharing and allowing us in on his journey! I, just one person, would like to thank you personally, for sharing the good/bad/ugly, and the beautiful raw pain and confusion that comes with loss/healing. Sending a simple THANK YOU, PEACE, LOVE and LIGHT, to you Mike and the LP Family!

Mike, I hope this reaches you. I got to be honest and say that after Chester's death I was heartbroken. After his death, I didn't think your music would be something that would interest me. Linkin Park was the music I grew up with and it's a part of my life and all of a sudden, it was gone. I tried to find closure about Chesters death and listening to LP music didn't comfort me in the way that I needed. Then I started listen to Post Traumatic and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I had an outpouring of grief from bottled up emotions. The lyrics resonated with all the feelings I had since 2017 and they gave meaning to random thoughts about not only Chester's death, but any situation where I lost someone or something dear to me. They finally helped me get past it cause now I realize, the connection I have with Linkin Park continues with your music. You're an incredible artist. The way you translated your feelings into music and how you connect with lots of people dealing with similar issues is just unique. I bought the album immediately and I'm looking forward to more of your work! Best wishes and ofcourse to the rest of the guys

Lost my best friend of over 20 years to suicide in 2017 only 4 months before Chester took his life. I was 33 years of age at the time of his death and so was he. He was only 9 days older than me. I'm now 40 years old. I've been rocking with you guys since Highschool. You guys came out the blue and absolutely rocked the world during the most meaningful years of my life. This song hits incredibly hard. Suicide fucking sucks! Just wanted to say I hope you're starting to see the light again. It took me over 5 years to accept that I lost my brother to suicide. It was completely out of the blue and caught me completely off guard. I blamed myself for years. He text me the day he decided to hang himself and I was asleep and never responded to his text message. Rest in Paradise *Andrew J. Milkovich* 9.10.1983 - 3.12.2017 💔

Life. You could be on top of the world living out your dreams and darkness is always right around the corner and can consume your life before you even have time to realize what's happening. Life is weird like that. Just like you can be down and out and on a chair ready to take that step to end it all.. and suddenly you can be blessed to have the world just by making the choice not to end it all. What health problems you got? I know all about mental health problems. Mother was manic bi polar, she just passed away at 57 in June of 2023. I suffer many of the same problems she had though I have ADHD. Similar to bi polar. Trust issues etc. I don't know you.. but I feel for you and unless you're already surely on the way out from cancer or something, I'd hope you can find some love or something to help keep you going and fight for yourself and those that love you. Hang in there! @@forest_maiden

I discovered linkin park in 2003 when I was young, at that time Mike was my "favourite" of them as a true genious but Chester made love himself for the reasons we all know, he gave the deep and they compensate perfectly each other. Now, after all this, I'm discovering Mike again in a new way that confirm his genius, it's like part of Chester survives in him. As a linkin park fan i felt always "cuddled" by the group and this built the special relationship and feelings that makes everything more sad and personal from a point of view, but on the otherside it makes me more proud of this new work.

The songs on the album are mostly arranged in chronological order, and since most of the songs you mentioned come later than this one, they were probably written later on- so Mike couldn't be referencing them in this song.

Its hard to wake up one day and realize your important ones are not in this world anymore, feeling lost and frustrated for not being able to do anything. The world becomes black and all your thoughts are for them...but you...the people out there crying for your lost, you are not alone, even if it seems there is no way to end up the pain, even if your eyes wont dry after years, you never walk alone. Be strong and stand up firmly, for your love ones, live all what they couldnt, cry the same amount they did, and smile because you were able to have them in your life. Be your own´s life strength so you can be the strength for the rest. Even if i dont know you, im here for you, the ones reading this. Do never forget that the brightest day always comes after the darkest night. Be well, all of you.
