This song is not at all about Chester... Mike has said multiple times, he just challenged himself to write a song about ghosts that doesn't say he believes in them but also doesn't say he doesn't believe in them. The song is not meant to be serious or sad, and has nothing to do with Chester's passing. But, I guess he was right... "even when it's not about you, all of a sudden it's about you"

I heard in that interview with Devo Brown that you literally made those sock puppets with your wife in your kitchen. I can't even find the words to express how is that (awesome? cheeky? right? and like a 1000 other things?), and how weird it is that it feels all natural somehow. Its awesome How Mike Shinoda can turn a puppet show in a masterpiece

I'm a new fan - I'm 49 and I'm ashamed to say that I'd got so stuck in my own ways and 'my' music that I refused to listen to anything else. I started listening to a young artist called Jake Munro and became a part of the community he built up, which is a very strong and supportive community and has a great many Linkin Park fans. Many of these fans I am - to be fair - old enough to be the mother of, and they talked about LP and suggested that I gave them a try. So I did. And MAN! Were they RIGHT! I haven't loved a band this much in 30 years! I really didn't think that because of my age, I would integrate into the LP community on the various social media platforms, but they welcomed me with open arms, suggested tracks to watch out for, told me about the history of the band, how it came about, and about each member and explained what each member brought to the group technically. They could have told me to google it, but they didn't - they talked to me and brought Mike (and Anna, of course). I listened to LP's lyrics and they described so many of my own feelings. I started watching Mike's Twitch streams about a month ago and am enjoying them so much and I realised what an incredibly talented man he is. I watch him mix these tracks and how he does it, I have no idea. I don't understand what he's doing - really I don't because I work in the NHS and understand medical things and drugs but have the musical abilities of a rhinoceros. But here's the thing. I have been in three abusive relationships and as a result of the abuse and damage done, not only can I not have children - which tears me apart - but have severe depression. I take a cocktail of pills every day and have seen counsellors, psychiatrists, etc, etc, to 'help'. I've been busily buying LP's back catalogue - yes, I can download it, but I love having the physical CDs in my (very large) collection - and I bought Post Traumatic. That album has helped me more in nine months than many years of counselling ever has done. I can't say why. I really don't know. But the lyrics that Mike has written have touched me in a way that I can't explain, and the progression of the album just....helps. So thank you Mike - and your beautiful Lady, Anna - and the LP community for everything you've all done. You've all helped me so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I do love the socks... xxx

Mikes message in the beginning is beyond what I need to wake up to everyday

Mike. I just want to say you are such a big inspiration to me. When Chester passed away I felt like the ground started crumbling from underneath me. I still find it hard te cope with that loss. I can only imagine what you must've felt like. But somehow, someway you manage to turn it around and keep creative, and keep making music. And that is just, fucking powerfull man. I think I speak for all the fans when I say that your music has helped us cope. You have been a bright beacon of light this past year, for everyone around you, and everyone around the world who was hurting with you. And I just wanted to say how fucking gratefull I am for that. Everyone would've had sympathy with you and the other guys, should you have retreated for a year, or two years or even longer, without reaching out. I mean you lost your bandmate, your vocalist, your best fucking friend. But no, you opened yourself up to us. And you took us in, and helped us process the grief. And that is not just proof that you are a great musician, but also a great man. You didn't leave us in the dark. So we will never leave you in the dark, or the other guys for that matter. Thank you.

True words brother! LP alone got me through a dark childhood alone and now Mike is keeping me on this great path. My 6 year old loves every song. we sing one more light together it's her favourite.

This is Shinoda, without ties and strings and binds holding him back. This creativity, born from ashes that used to be... This is what live for and one of things that makes this man great. I can see his soul that he puts into what he does. Even something as simple as a sock puppet (love ya Boris) is this magnificent.

This entire album is legendary, right now my favorite album ever. It is deep and it's like Mike is taking his fans on a musical journey. My daughter is 4 and knows the entire song, loves the puppet socks XD.

I did. This song is great, I definitely feel as if it's a song that smiles on my low points of life. So as I smile, I know that my low points of life made me who I am today, but tonight is for my ghost.

No i was fixed on the illuminati symbolism in the vid and the painting at the very beginning when he is moaning about something on his wall.....creepy

The song makes me feel so sad but, then the sock puppets make me laugh. It feels like he's trying to make us feel connected to humanity in terms of the sad moments like you can't ignore them, you can't just take yourself out of those moments and forget them but, don't worry there are good moments too that will make you smile so, don't give up.

Mike, here I am from Italy.... well I live abroad now but I am from Italy: and I just signed in KZread, now, to reply to you. Guilty of what!!!!! No one could ever be guilty for simple funny time. You Deserve Fun, we (the fans) expect you to go on with your ART. This song is your style and lyrycs are so deep as always. I had a kind of those ghosts. The whys, those calls without an answer, made them heavy companions at firts. Then I turned my ghosts as if they were one of my best friends living far from me, on the other side of my world: talking and laughing and asking support to them sometimes :-)...And I had support, a hand on my shoulder. I'm so glad you're still going post Linkin Park. I cried the day Chester passed. I been listening to ya'll since day one. I got my arms tatted with Chester's flames back in 2001. And when ppl ask me about the tat's, I proudly tell them what they mean. It's in honor of my all time fav band.

Hey Mike, in case you're reading this comment there is a little thing I wanna say. I've been avoiding your videos till now, simply because I was avoiding an old ghost. The ghost of Chester and Linkin Park, not to mention the fact that I will never be able to go to Linkin Park concert. I guess, in the end, it realy doesn't matter. I saw this video, clicked it without even thinking and saw it completely with a smile on my face. Maybe one day I will get the chance to see your concert instead. I know this message wasn't meant for a fellow fan but I wanted to say I felt much the same way. After his death, when Mike started to bring out these songs, I had a hard time bringing myself to listen to them I wasn't ready to deal with it. Mike is a brave man.

Think its amazing these days to hear an artist who can make such an amazing, and inspired song with a music video equally inspiring and amazing to match it so perfectly.

It's been quite a while since I last listened to this song, but now that I returned to it after it started to play in my head this morning, I feel awesome. This definitely puts a smile on my face every time! Keep up being awesome everyone! :D

This is probably the most adorable music video I’ve ever seen.

At the end of the video I realised that I am sitting like a little kid, watching a puppet show, giggling all the time... :D

3:02 in this and another very special song... also, I can't put into words how much I appreciate everything you create. I lost a buddy September 2020, and every PT song hits really hard but is also so enjoyable to blast in my car on my way to and from school (please come to Daytona (or NY) someday). Man, just the "I don't have another choice but an open mind" line has so much inside.
