lyrics:
Every time you come around you know I can’t say no
Every time the sun goes down I let you take control
I can feel the paradise before my world implodes
and tonight had something wonderful
My bad habits lead to late nights ending alone
Conversations with a stranger I barely know
Swearing this will be the last, but it probably won’t
I’ve got nothing left to lose, or use, or do
My bad habits lead to wide eyes stare into space
And I know I lose control of the things that I say
I was looking for a way out, now I can’t escape
Nothing happens after two It’s true it’s true
My bad habits lead to you
Every pure intention ends when the good times start
Falling over everything to reach the first times spark
Started under neon lights then it all got dark
I only know how to go too far
My bad habits lead to late nights ending alone
Conversations with a stranger I barely know
Swearing this will be the last, but it probably won’t
I’ve got nothing left to lose, or use, or do
My bad habits lead to wide eyes stare into space
And I know I lose control of the things that I say
I was looking for a way out, now I can’t escape
Nothing happens after two It’s true it’s true
My bad habits lead to you
We took the long way round
And burned til the fun ran out,
My bad habits lead to late nights ending alone
Conversations with a stranger I barely know
Swearing this will be the last, but it probably won’t
I’ve got nothing left to lose, or use, or do
My bad habits lead to you
You it’s true, my bad habits lead to you

The fact that they didn't just use Ed's original vocals but re-recorded everything to match the new vibe of the song, that they increased the tempo just a bit and that both Ed and BMTH's essence is preserved... It's definitely a masterpiece!

Actually, this isn’t the first time Ed Sheeran sang in a rock genre. He has a song called, “Blow” featuring Christ Stapleton & Bruno Mars that came out in 2019 with a rock genre. Underrated song imo. He really does fit rock, and I hope to see him do more rock. And as a fan of Bring Me the Horizon (they also have great songs btw)…I didn’t expect this collaboration remix tbh. Love or hate BMTH, this kind of collab is absolutely huge for the metal & rock industry. I've never really been into BMTH until some of their most recent stuff within the last 1-2 years started giving me huge early Linkin Park vibes, who were the first band to get me into heavier music all those years ago. They've been pushing the boundaries with their collabs with YUNGBLUD and now Ed Sheeran and it's great to see as a metal fan. The track has totally transformed with those chunky guitars and Olly's harsher vocals towards the end, Ed's voice really suits this setting ngl. Sure, there is heavier stuff out there, but goes without saying it'd be incredible to see more collaborations like this in the future! 🤘🤘
